    If only all people including doctors could integrate all these aspects into their work, especially working from a soul level as Dr Roger clearly does.
    Beautiful interview, thankyou both.

    In response to an email, Tara told me to watch this video. WOW. In usual fashion you hit so many points that reflect what I’m experiencing. I love the cold water immersion. It’s not always practical to get the amount of ice needed but using a large mixing bowl kept in the frig. at 36 degrees makes a huge difference. I immerse my head numerous times a day. My biggest, deeply rooted emotion is my desire to always do the right thing to others and in life in general. I set the bar very high. However, I take a punch in the gut everyday when I see or hear examples of people doing bad things. It runs the gamut from being rude to murder. I turned off the so called “news” which helps. The constant barrage of bad things hitting ours brains, I believe, is causing our species great harm. Social media and the various “news” agencies are ripping us apart and people aren’t smart enough to see it. UA-cam is my only exposure to social media. From its first year, I saw the potential harm social media can cause. I’m amazed at the number of people I speak with in any given week stopped watching the “bad news” and are dropping their media exposure.

    "If I can accept my dizziness and make it through this experience, I could handle anything in the future." Spot on. So great you discussed the spiritual aspect of healing. I believe its essential, and while I am not 100% better yet, I know it is only God that has sustained me through this dizziness experience. Could you share the spiritual books/resources you mentioned?

      Hi Amanda! For a Christian perspective- the book Pain Free for Life by Dr. Scott Brady is really helpful. Dr. Roger recommends The Presence Process by Michael Brown and A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. He has a few other resources listed here: www.healthy-mind-body.com/mind-body-spirit-resources/

      Thank you for recommending the book that discusses this from a Christian perspective. It’s so very hard to find Christian based anything in this world of mind/body syndromes. I have often thought if I weren’t 58 that I would go back to school when I get through this stuff and be the person I and so many others are looking for. I will definitely check it out!

      @@suzannemartin6817 I have often thought to do the same. I already have a Bachelor's in Psychology and have worked in psychiatric hospital settings. I’d probably have to start completely at the beginning, get another bachelor’s degree then a masters then probably some kind of clinical something or other. And then perhaps a “Bible degree”. Idk. Maybe you do it and we’ll keep in touch and discuss it along the way. 😂

    Thank you Dr. Roger and Dr. Yo! This was a wonderful and genuine interview. I’m loving the practice of cold plunges and wondering about intermittent fasting now too. I also came away with an understanding that this mind body journey must ultimately be a journey of mind body spirit. This is a perspective that deserves more attention. It does not seem to fit our current culture, but that’s perhaps part of the reason we see such an explosion of dis function. Thank you both.

    • @lynnnestor7985
      @lynnnestor7985 Рік тому

      I too believe it’s a journey of the mind body spirit + importantly for me each component is from within.. This too goes for the spiritual part. I recognise the larger aspect but that’s the “god essence” INSIDE me. We are connected to “source” + at the same time we ARE source.
      I’ve done intermittent fasting for close to 6.5 years but I didn’t really see it as training somatically for resilience. WOW I have the consistency so I just need to adjust the intention/mindset. That too goes for the cold water therapy. I do that too (for re training breath carbon dioxide sensitivity) but now I will literally see this as “dropping” into this miracle machine that is the body. We are having the experience but we are not the body, thoughts, behaviours but then this is a physical energetic experience we are in.
      Such a dichotomy at times but that too is okay.
      I wake with …relax into the now….yes….
      I “allow” not “accept” cuz that does always seem true for me (actually rarely is it true for me) + Dr Roger was illuminating in his suggestion that the brain knows the difference between the real + can let go of the unreal. Never accepted this over many decades BUT since I’ve trained by body through daily somatic tracking before i actually wake up …I’ve actually “softened” just a little into a panic attack with …I can feel safe here. Well we know that very rarely does this actually feel safe if there’s no “space” between the overwhelm + getting taken.
      This is one hell of a journey but I’ve started to see the narrative of little importance + more about the programs/beliefs that need to be dropped + we need to choose - once we become aware of the dizziness, Bppv anxiety, vestibular migraine, PPPD etc, FEEL all the fear around it + then be open to a new way of moving forward, without resistance, judgment.
      These are just some of my thoughts + Dr Yoni is gold for us all!

    Excellent.! I agree about the lack of blood flow. That was the cause of the onset of my vertigo, deafness, fullness, pressure, tinnitus. It’s pretty challenging to relax with dizziness even after having it almost every day for 33 years. Mostly I say to myself, “Can I do this dizzy?” I do most of the time. I would love it if someone could say to me, “You will never be dizzy again.” I would feel let out of prison.

    Regarding POTS and dysautonomia, other than cold exposure, what exactly is being recommended to heal from those diagnoses?
    Dr. Roger essentially said that he isn't an expert in dealing with those conditions and that the conventional treatments being offered typically don't work or help people. So, what is the solution?

    I LOVE that you added an interview with the spiritual aspect! This is huge for me and once again could not come at a better time. I could not agree more with Dr. Roger that every illness has a spiritual cause and a psychological cause. I just don’t talk about it publicly but for me this is huge. I cried when i heard him speak of asking God for help! Because I do! And I sincerely hope that the mind/body community will continue to embrace the spiritual aspect more openly as time goes on.

    This was such a great conversation and gives me hope that healing is possible thank you so much.
    I'm 21 and have suffered from dizziness from the age of 16, I was diagnosed with pots syndrome however I always felt there was something missing from my diagnosis, especially as I found I was dizzy/unbalanced almost all of the time, not just when sitting or standing. When I came across your channel Dr Yo and found you and many others listing all these symptoms I experience daily, it was such a relieving and emotional moment. I feel that after around a year of having the dizziness come out of nowhere in my teens, that's when I began to feel very anxious and quite low as it was like I was realising the symptoms weren't shifting or improving. I have tried to explain to many doctors how I feel there is a vestibular issue that may have been sparked by my negative and anxious feelings towards this sudden chronic illness but I have been told that pppd is only caused by an inner ear issue or that I need to go back to doing dancing and sports which is obviously almost impossible when your chronically dizzy all of which I find really hard to hear and leaves me feeling a bit defeated.
    After listening to your videos, it's clear that beginning to work with my dizziness and not against it is the right direction and that this illness is hopefully only temporary for this moment ♡

    How long does one need to be in the cold water? Does a cold shower work? I live in Montana and eventually it will be cold...could you just go stand outside...for how long? And how frequently for maximum benefit? Very intrigued by this. Thank you! Humanitarian work is absolutely the best medicine!

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  Рік тому

      HI! General guidelines: 11 minutes total per week (spread over 3-4 sessions is fine... so just 1-5 minute exposure is plenty, and you can start even shorter than that if you're not adapted or your water is colder), 50-60 degrees F is the zone with the most research, so your tap water in Montana is probably plenty cold. Water conducts heat away from the body hundreds of times faster than air so water is a better bet than being outside. Cold showers work too but I have personally found immersion to be a much more powerful stimulus.

    Dr Yonit, you answered my question, that bppv symptoms can be mimiced when having neural circuit dizziness..is that just like dr Jeremy Pollac? I saw that interview. He told about laying in bed every time triggered the bppv symptoms again while not actually having bppv anymore!?..
    And if it is just mimiced, how can i resolve this trigger all the time...?
    When i look down or up, always the balance is so off...can i do somthing about that? Apart from.reducing stress and living life as normal as i can?
    ps and...WHY would my nervous system mimic the bppv sensations?
    For instance this morning i tested and tried the falling down on my left side 90 degrees. It went spinning but just very slowly 30 seconds. So...i thought is this bppv? I went on with my day and did nothing about it. At the end of the day i tried it again... and NOTHING spinned! Nothing at all!!!
    I really dont understand why it does and than it does not😢

    • @TheSteadyCoach

      Hi Arianne, when it's inconsistent in this way, that's a pretty good sign you may be dealing with a neural circuit issue. When that's the case, reducing your focus on the symptoms and the anxiety are the fundamental first steps.

    Dr Yonit, my pppd started with a few times bppv 3 years ago. My Journey went from very bad to now recovering. BUT...some days i feel really like bppv all over again. Movements like looking up or looking to the ground can totally trigger a dizzy feeling. I see the ceiling moving for a few seconds and makes me feel off balance😢 or the floor moving for a few seconds. So...not spinning like really the classic bppv...but just a few seconds of seeing motion...it makes me feel scared and dont know what this is...or why.
    When i lay down with my head turned 90° , nothing happens... but when i lay down and have my head totally backwards over.my pillow (so looking straight up to the ceiling) i feel this moving sensation on the ceiling. However, just a few seconds...
    I just dont know if this is bppv? Or is it just my nervous system reacting very sensitive on these movements...
    And if so...will this recover or get better in time when i keep trying to do the right things you teach here? (reduce stress, live life, move, sporting etc)🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  Рік тому +1

      The only way to know for sure if it's BPPV is to get it checked out by a vestibular therapist. If there is no clear sign that it is, neural circuit dizziness can mimic BPPV symptoms.
