- Family Session - Behind The Scenes - Lens Recommendation // Family photography is what a lot of new or beginner photographers start. The funny thing is…it’s the hardest in our opinion! Posing families and getting the right camera settings for family portraits can be difficult. Even thinking about what lens to use or what the best lens is for family photography. Family photographers have alot of options when it comes to lenses, but we are going to talk about our favorite photography lenses for portraits.

I generally use a Canon RF 50mm 1.2 for sessions. It feels like a nice middle ground lens that works for most things. I enjoy the behind the scenes peek. Families are more challenging for me since there is more work in styling the poses with different groups. Individual and couple pics come easier for me. Keep up the great work!
my go to is Tam 35-150mm. for family shoots.
I have both - and love them! And I love the 24-70 mm for events ! Happy Monday - thanks as always for the weekly videos!
I’ve heard great things about that 24-70 lens!! Thanks for always tuning in with us!!
@@esquared.photography ❤️always! (And I just got the Nikon Z 28-75 f2.8! It’s awesome.) I was using the Tamron 24-70 with my d750. Good deals right now!
I like using a squeaky toy to get their attention. Also, I find it helpful for them to have something to hold during the session. Then ask them to show it to me. You ladies are awesome!
Really enjoyed behind the scenes 😂 kids and pets are definitely hard work.
I really like the Sony 50 1.2, I only have it at 1.2 in very specific instances though
i mostly use my canon 50mm and 85mm. if i use a zoom i use a canon 18-135 3.5 or a sigma 17-70 2.8
I have my first family shoot and this was so helpful! With a 50mm 1.8 lens will i be able to get a family of 3 in focus?
My favorite lense is my 85mm
I’m using 50.
I use nikon 1.4 but usually bump it a little higher because I struggle with focus sometimes:)
Good idea!! How do you like the 1.4?
What focus setting are you using ?
I use 50 mm. What is your opinion of having a Telephoto 75-300? And could you explain a little more why you chose a 85 for a smaller family?
Thank you, I learn so much from you guys!
I don’t know much about the 75-300. The reason we choose the 85 mm is because we love the bokeh it can give us!
What camera are you guys using right now? (:
Nikon z7
Do you use a UV Filter on the end of your lens?
An expodisc
What did you use to check white balance
An expodisc! We love it
