I have a proof set of 5. In a case that was given to me when I visited my girlfriend's mother for the 1st time about 15 years ago. We enjoyed each other's company and we had coin collecting in common. Since she grew up in Philadelphia she had acquired the set in the 90's. She gave it to me and they are a Treasure. Absolutely beautiful to look at.

Great informative videos!
I have a 1943 penny that doesn't have any letter underneath the year its in excellent condition
I have a 1943 penny that stick to a magnet, but it's copper planchet, it's worth anything, thank you
They should be worth more knowing they were supposed to be 24k gold pleated.
You don't say! uhm! I would like to know how come it never went threw.
Thank you,very interesting.
You are welcome!
very nice, thank you
That was seriously one of the best coin videos ive seen and i watch them every day. Thanks!!! Also i was not aware that some D. D. Coins were the thick letters and numbers. I always thought that you had to see it doubled like under over or under. I have recently seen somn not knowing they were doubled. What do you know about c oins with deep gouges on the rim or in the coin? I also have some with a blob in spots.
Thanks so much JCS! I didn't realize it either - I can't tell doubled extra thickness coins to be perfectly honest. The gouges might be post mint damage.
Great video! Keep it up
Thanks!
Hi Christian, I really enjoy watching your videos!!! It's really awesome to see young collectors out there, and to be super knowledgeable as well!!! =) I have a quick question, I know PCGS offers coin restoration, is it possible to professionally restore these gorgeous 1943 steel pennies? I have about 40 and out of those, there is about 4 or 5 that look super nice, and after watching your video, I will surely check for your list. I did notice on one of my Denver's what looks to be DDR.... I know NOT to clean coins but never knew if they could be professionally restored. Thanks again for your awesome videos!!!!
Hey! I'm actually relatively unfamiliar with restoration outside of having heard of them / checked out their site. I think that the coins are unlikely to be worth the money that it would cost to get them restored (an MS66 is about a $35 coin, I think they generally work with more expensive ones). I could be totally wrong - wish I was more knowledgeable here.
there worth around 16 cents, so not worth to restore
BUT... THE PRICE TODAY MAY NOT BE THE PRICE IN 20 YEARS!!
@@TreasureTownCoins if the 4 is missing out of the date, is that worth anything?
Thank u I like u the way explaining all those fortune...1, million thumbs up..Break a leg your Rock..
I got 1943 steel penny graded very great
Thanks for the info man!
Happy to provide it!
Hi Christian! I watch a lot of your videos and follow you. Question for you, I have a 1943 in MS condition but the 4 is almost missing. You can see a shadow of the 4 but that's it. Is this an error and if so do you know the name?
Hello as well. I have the same missing 4. Also the wear is less than my other 40's pennies. Not asking the worth as much as the story.
Thanks for the good info.
thank for your information
Thank You Very Much
Cool, Thanks for the info.
For sure!
Hey thanks so much make sure to just tell everybody on ur channel to never throw away weird coins!
Is 1943 steel penny weight 2.9 gram has a value?
excellant presentstion!!
Thanks!
I have got a 1943 steel penny the on the date and only shows 193 is it worth anything I think they made a mistake at the mint you can barely see the four
Great job 👍
Thanks James!!
Just wondering how to post a photo of the 1943 steel pennies, was wondering about a little color on the back of 1943 D and 1943 S and the 1943 P is just the way it pose to be
Very good presentation
Thanks Jill!
I have 2 1943 s coins and the mint mark is definitely doubled but on the front side of the mint mark what should I do with it?
Thank You 😊 peaceful place
thanks for the info\
Was fun to research!
Hey I really appreciate your video I was wondering though because it didn't get covered I have a nice 43 steel with a line dented all the way across the back of the coin but with the lettering on top of the line really cool coin wanted to know what you think it would cost
its post mint damage and added after it left the mint so only worth a dollar to collectors who collect those type of coins
Hey there, I'd like to see a picture of the coin you're describing here. This question should not have been answered so carelessly. There's not enough information given to designate rather or not the coin was an error coin or some type of damage/added features...
I'm curious to see it for myself. Thanks!
I have a shiny white penny and the date shows 19 3.....I can't tell if the 4 is very very fainly there or whether it is missing. Know anything about this kind of error? And, what other metal was the white penny made from?
Yes it is the 1943 steel penny the one he's talking about throughout this entire video... I'm looking around for same thing right now I've got two of the exact same thing you do. Is a light strike on the four and on the other coin the four is barely visible so I'm not sure what the deal is it seems like maybe this is something that's common but don't take it for me cuz I have no idea like I said I'm trying to figure this out now but considering I have two of them kind of makes me think it might not be all that rare. Then again I clean out houses and I've been collecting people's Collections and stuff like that for the past 15 plus years so I've got jars and boxes of wheat pennies many many of them are double dies or die chips or a 1960 d we're pretty much the entire bottom section of the S in the word States is totally filled in. That I found another one which had absolutely no copper on it whatsoever it's almost black you look at it and there's no sign of any type of copper on it whatsoever and I have no idea where I can get all these looked at especially I have a decent amount of them and I've been doing quite a bit of research the past couple months and believe that I'm correct on most of these but at the same time it's freaking impossible to know what coins worth spend if you're wasting someone's Time by looking at it so I don't want to walk in somewhere and be like oh look at all these and look like a complete idiot LOL at the same time I am pretty sure of what I'm looking at but grading the condition of the client is just so slight that I don't feel confident doing it even though once again pretty sure I have a decent idea of what I'm doing and using 20x loops and microscopes in order to really be able to see them. As I mentioned I've been researching these things for hours and and days and now it's been months and I still find it extremely hard to be sure about these things because there's so many different things that people lifeguard don't like and I mean who the hell knows why LOL I know if you found anything out about yours thanks
Where can I find the big list of all the errors? I've been looking around for a few days but I can't find an explanation for what I have.
Great video Christian thank you very much.
Ive been trying to find a list to. Been wTching videis every day. I did find some error coin apps at the playstore by searching error coins on it. I havent tryed them yet
The Cherrypicker's Guide is a really good place to start!
It is amazing how changing see you searched words, yields a different world of results. I can't find something for days and then all of a sudden it's everywhere.
I have a 1944 S still penny and 3 1943 copper looking pennies that are magnetic Where should I take themAnd what would be the value of the 343 copper looking still pennies that are magnetic
Thank you so much for going over the coins and errors. I am new to all of this and I find the acceptable errors to be confusing I just went through 1000 pennies and honestly I see things that look like errors, like the "L" in liberty being on its side rather than laying flat on the coin but its my understanding that is not considered to be an error, then the double stamping of letters, I see a lot of coins that the letter is messed up and not from damage on the street, but honestly I just do not know if what I am seeing is a double stamp or not. Then I see pictures that say here is an example and I do not see what they are talking about I am not seeing the indication of double stamping, so I am finding all this to be frustrating. And I am using a microscope to make sure I can see up close!
I found a steel penny but I'm not sure if it is a 1945 or 1943 it's in pretty bad shape it's really very readable I don't know if it has any errors or value to it where could I take it to to be advised on what to do
I have a 1943s ddo and ddr ms68. What do you think the value is on this
I just found one with a crooked d. And I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if these are just stick or if they're double dies
'Master dies' of U.S. coinage are made at Philadelphia, the 'master mint'. Prior to 1989 mintmarks of U.S. coins were not applied to master dies. They were applied to working dies before shipping them to branch mints. This allowed for great variance in mintmark types, alignments, placements, as many working dies would be produced during each production year.
Since 1990, mintmarks are applied to master dies to ensure uniformity.
crooked D's are worth a dollar or more
What should I do? In the course of remodeling my kitchen. I had probably 400-500 coins drop out of my ceiling. Yes I have some 1943 steel pennies and some liberty dimes micro s and others. All coins were separated in individual protected cardboard sleeves. Any suggestions on how I can get them all graded or sold?
Hello, I just acquired through an auction two 1943 (P) steel cents in Unc condition and with doubling of the date on both. In addition, one also has the ghosted "4" which I have seen alot out there. I noticed you do not mention in this video the 1943 (P) double date error. Have you not seen this one?
I have mint 1943 steel with DDO/DDR and zinc frosting . Looks super cool. I'll make a short video and tag you if you want.
I have one 1943 steel -zinc it’s kind of duty And my cuestión is should’ve to clean it or leave like that or loose value? And where can I take it and sell it I’m not a collectionist, , I’m in Texas
I have one it's so shiny I don't know if it has been chromed or not..any thoughts?
good evening .I heve one dollar on which the year of manufacture is missing . Tell me at what price you would estimate it . ?Thank you
Muchas geacias amigoo
Can somebody tell me about extremely light strike on the number 4 or the number 4 being pretty much nonexistent really would appreciate it thanks
Great Video!
I’m an amateur collector.
I just found a 1943 S with the 4 missing. Rare? It’s in circulated condition with some discoloration (gunk on it). I looked at it through a jewelers loop, it has a faint 4, but doesn’t appear that the 4 was removed by any tooling.
Any advice is welcome.
From what I understand that particular issue isn't that uncommon I have several of you have had a different outcome or if you sold it please let me know thanks they are still worth more than face value
It seems eBay is the most lucrative way to sell the unique ones
Good vid man.. I own a blank copper coated steel planchet. They were experimental in 1943
That's incredible!
Is the wheat on the back supposed to be upside down? What is the value of the 43 steel wheat (magnetic, so not tin that was also a very rare experiment) no mint Philly
its possible the steel blank was plated with copper after it left the mint making it worthless, but theres not really a way to know, it actually would have been worth a lot of money just a blank steel as i have not seen any
@@tnasituning8173 yes supposed to be upside down and worth 16 cents as billions were made
@@TheCabinfever1977 there’s quite a few known examples
I have some 1944 that look like they were made from brass shell casings. In great condition you can still see the grease that was on the casing
I have three 1944 wheat pennies but I think they're copper they don't stick
I also have a couple old pennys where the words are way up on the rim and the rim is kind of pushed in... And a 1982 cooper small date penny. It weighs 3.1grams. Im 97% sure its the rare one but dont know what the next step is as far as getting it graded, auctioned ect.
I'd take it to a local coin dealer for their opinion.
the old pennies where the words are up on the rim are not worth anything, the 1982 copper small date penny is most likely a large date, because everybody says they have a small date and it turns out to be large date
I have a silver 1943 penny with a stamp of some kind on the front between liberty and 1943. Has there been any other coins found like this? Who can I bring it to for authenticity?
Don't think so! Can always bring to a local coin dealer.
it was done after it left the mint so not worth anything, maybe worth a dollar to someone who may collect odd coins that are stamped
I have a mint 1943 Steel with a couple DDO/DDO and possibly a 3rd DDO. It's hard to tell ,it's so shiny. Can I send you a video and pics of the penny. You can use it on your channel
I have a 1943s that is bronze and the 4 is faint and the 3 is facing down towards the bottom of the penny. How do I know if it is real.
I have several of the 1943 p double die obverse and reverse and some toning
worth a few bucks
Thank you for the clear video i think i might need a magnifying glass because I think I have a few it's just hard to tell the steel pennies love to rust lol ok condition but not perfect some are hard to see
So I just got one of these penny and it don't stick to a magnet it's a 1943 no letters underneath of the 1943 or above it but on the back it says copy at the very bottom what does that mean and it's smaller than a regular penny excellent condition
that means its a fake
I have - 1943 d steel cent sticks to magnet so no big deal but what I need to know is I have 2 1943 s penny’s that do not stick and I believe we’re struck on a sliver dime planchet as I said they do not stick so they can not be steel and they weight if I remember 2.89g or 2.9g and are slightly smaller they are are in very very good condition what could they be worth ?
have a professional look at them
my penny looks like if you’re coming out from the machine for the punch
Liked your video.
Thanks Dennis!
I have a 43 that looks doubled on frunt and back is it worth anything?
Yes worth alot that is rare I sell it for $40,000.00 go get that bag youngin
don't listen to jays slot channel 5, there only worth a few bucks
I had a 1944 steel penny but it in worst condition, you can still read the lettering and the date vividly but it’s all corroded. Do you think it’s still worth much?
Holly NoFront, I’m not sure I don’t have a scale it badly corroded you can still read the date, and also it stick on a magnet.
It would be if it's steel, but that would be crazy!
Treasure Town, thank you, your the best! Worth keeping do. Try to put it in my coin album.
have a professional take a look at it
Nice job. How do we clean the steel cent ? Vincent
you don't, if its rusted then its worth less cents, if it looks good its worth more cents
I have a 1943 steel penny that has something under the liberty . I cannot tell what it is. Maybe an o or another d? It looks like it was imprinted in it and not an add on . It puzzled me and I just thought you might tell me something.
would have been put there after it left the mint, not worth anything
The oldest Lincoln Wheat Cent is my 1911. I have a messed up 1920's, and a 1936 S minted and I still have a 1943 Steel Cent. I used to have a 1947 S minted, but lost it somehow. But, I still own 6 S minted coins. 3 Lincoln Cents and 3 Jefferson Nickel 5 Cent.
Nice! They're fun to collect.
Good info not really covered elsewhere
Awesome!
i have a 194 s the last digit in the date is missing do you know anything about it?? and its copper
not worth much, maybe a dollar for a grease filled die, thats why its missing a number
I have a 1943 no mint mark magnetic penny but it weights 3.1 grams is that normal
Carlos Antunez I have the same one is it worth something mine sticks to the magnet also
I also 3.29
worth 16 cents
@@hildebertogarcia6311 worth 16 cents
I'm pretty sure I have a coin that wasn't on this guy's list. I have one that is completely missing the L on the word liberty and it's from the San Francisco mint. Any insight into this coin would be great!
If the 4 is missing from the date is that worth anything?
Thanks Brotha

Thanks Cena!
I have a 1943 steel MS65 penny
Got it for $15 last year
Hello, Thank you have some of these pennies of 1943 s. and blank one no letter will sell
1943 s = 27 cents, 1943 blank/plain/no mint mark = 16 cents
I Found one that confuses me a bit. The E in E PLURIBUS UNUM. You can see the E if you turn the coin but theres definately a 2 there. The coins a bit rough but it's a ( 2 PLURIBUS UNUM) Also 3 little cuds on the face in front. Any ideas? I'm not sure how to send photos over the phone sorry
O I forgot to say a 1943 no mint mark 2 PLURIBUS UNUM
just a regular 1943, somebody added the 2 or could be damage after it left the mint, not worth anything for that, the 3 little cuds add value of a few dollars
Can u still buy a 1943 steel cent b u ? If so where?also what is the weight?
buy on e-bay
Hi, I have some ones Lincoln's Penny's UNC; this coin's have a error in the date im the number 4 almost not seen ,and the other have a color gray / black curious color
Interesting! Could just be wear patterns.
@@TreasureTownCoins but the number that's can see , and the other numbers it's in perfect condition only the 4 !
just a worn die, not worth anymore, thousands were made like that
@@noelbarajas just a worn die, not worth anymore, thousands were made like that
What if mine 1943 D is upside down when you turn it over??
You totally missed the 1943 cents struck off-metal on SILVER blanks intended for minting U.S. Dimes, about as rare as the 1943 bronze cents but not as well known.
I have 1944 d wheat penny . Thanks for your info . Where can i sell it ? Thanks
It's worth a nickel at most in circulated condition. They literally minted hundreds of millions of them. In the video he talks about the 1944 d cent struck on a steel planchet in error, of which there was only a handful struck.
Good information but I don’t think the prices should Inflated for graded. There will soon be a better pricing system I heard Yay!
Would be interesting!
