  • Grace is a word that we hear again and again in our lives. Anyone who is affiliated with a church, whether orthodox, apostate, or even the cults, will tell you that you are saved by grace. But what exactly do people mean when they say “grace”? What is the biblical concept of grace and how does it work itself out in our lives? Which notion of grace are you operating under? The sixteenth century church rediscovered the biblical concept of grace, and perhaps nobody was able to articulate it better than John Calvin. In this message, Dr. Sinclair Ferguson explains John Calvin’s essential role in church history as a preacher and teacher of the biblical doctrine of grace.

    Grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone... Thank you my triune God for baptizing me in the Holy Spirit. For turning hope into assurance. Thank you for getting me out of the religion of my youth and saving me.

    What is unfortunate is that no one mentioned is an author of the Bible. Their understanding of the text would have been most definitely jaded by centuries of altered doctrine. However, they are still viewed as thought leaders. Misinterpretation is the same no matter what religion you prescribe to.

    Salvation is not a train that anyone can just choose to jump onto...no man can elect himself unto sainthood...a profession of faith justifies no-one, it's the possession of saving faith (received as a gift of grace) that justifies...and this only applies to the pre-chosen Unconditional Elect...

      It is odd though that Scripture speaks of God desiring the salvation of ALL individuals and Jesus weeps over the state of individuals who will not come to Him. The calvinistic understanding of Scripture is a relatively NEW interpretation of Scripture and is not consistent with the teachings of the early church.

    i don't understand why this is a reformed teaching of grace but not holding to the true KJV bible & are using a false bible! i can't share it now. I can not lead people into the erroneous bibles...

    • @joeiiiful
      @joeiiiful 4 роки тому +10

      A false Bible????? Where did you come up with that nonsense? The KJV is a good translation but it is not perfect. Dr. Ferguson is using the ESV which is a good translation, but also is not perfect. You ought to study the subject. If you are interested, Dr. James White does a great deal of work on the subject. You are able to find his great work on UA-cam.
