- Casio Pro Trek vs. Casio G-Shock Mudmaster Watch Review | aBlogtoWatch
Ariel Adams of aBlogtoWatch compares the updated 2020 versions of the Casio Pro Trek (Ref. PRT-B50-YT-1) and Casio G-Shock Mudmaster (Ref. GGB100-1B) watches. Both timepieces have the same price point and utilize the same movement, which is Casio’s analog-digital Quad-Sensor Module 5594. The four on-board sensors are an altimeter/barometer, compass, thermometer, and step counter. In addition to the standard stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, world time, and sunrise/sunset features, the module also offers Bluetooth connectivity with Casio’s smartphone app.
This particular reference of the Casio Pro Trek is a step up from the core Pro Trek line, as it features a black IP-coated titanium bracelet and clasp which is quite thin, comfortable, and of course, lightweight. A rotating navigation bezel surrounds the highly legible dial, and the watch is water-resistant to 100m.
This reference of the Mudmaster features a stealth/blacked-out colorway and retains all the other features of the GGB100 lineup: the 55.4mm-wide case utilizes a new carbon core construction and true to its G-Shock DNA offers shock, water, dust, and mud resistance.
Pricing for both watches is $380 USD.

I remember when watches simply had a price, rather than a “price point”. They were simpler times.
Like when? 100 years ago? Watches have always had price point dont know what planet you came from
@@skyisdlimit6125 ifkr
@@skyisdlimit6125 Lol. Way to completely miss the point. I come from the planet where nuance and sarcasm don’t go right over people’s heads.
doesn't have multiband 6 the "REC" mode is for the altitude recorded parameter
but dont get me wrong, great video i personally own the ggb100 and love it
I have the prtb50. It's a nice watch and operates very good but I don't know why Casio didn't put solar power in it. What was they thinking.
Somebody on here said it was because that movement they used does not work with solar power. Even if they had to use a defferent movement, so what? Anybody would rather have the solar instead of that exact movement, right?
No solar, no like for over $200....
Great review and walk through, thanks
Both dong have solar power
I would pick the Mudmaster for war.
The movement module is 5601 not 5594 😉
Not really the same price point, the Pro Trek is quite a bit cheaper without the titanium bracelet.
So many watches come with solar. I defently recommend it. No more thinking about batteries. Ofcourse it only works when you wear it alot. Most solar batteries last 6months in total darkness, and a few minutes per day outside sun to keep it top op. Or like 20-40m indoor light.
This both are not solar
Hi. I still can't decide which one I suppose to go for. Is the protrek made of titanium or just bracelet? What about the buttons? they are made of plastic or metal? I have 17 cm wrist and I am worried that the ggb100 will be to large. Protrek looks smaller though.
I’ve had the G Shock I’ve got a 7” wrist and it was too big and too wide.
I’ve just ordered the ProTrek today.
The titanium strap sold it for me as looks more comfortable than the hard plastic G shock straps.
@@StephanoHamez thanks. I think that I'll go for protrek too.
Not having solar is a deal breaker.
Protrek series is very delicate. It has a life of few years. Gshock lasts at least a decade or more. If you do serious trekking,Protrek will get damaged within a year.
Mind sharing more details or your experiences?
Brother thanks for such a good review
Mudmaster lacks solar such a shame
Ok, I'll subscribe.
Great watches - I really love the 50 but I am never buying another watch that does not have solar power, period.
These are great watches
I just got the Pro Trek from Walmart for $190 titanium bracelet and all.
Yeah right
Titanium strap is a new model, more than 60% sale? I dont think so..
@@genesisqui6719 YOU don’t think so? Stfu asshole. I got it on sale from Walmart for $190 plus tax. All’s you have to do is go to Walmart.com and look it up. Jeezuz. I got it for my birthday in February so it’ still qualifies as new.
@@baccaratfitness2360 you lie it’s $380 on the website. Take your BS somewhere else. Your not impressing anyone.
@@PepeDeezNutz Do you own a computer there Pepe? It's still on sale on Walmart.com on 5/6/2021 Einstein. Be like Sherlock Holmes and do some investigation before you comment dumb crap.
I've got the protrek and I must say that the stepcounter is an absolute shit, it counts the steps even when I drive the car and if i just move my hand randomly it also counts steps...useless mod.
Salut. In afară de prbl cu număratul pașilor, overall ce notă i ai da sau cat ești de mulțumit de acest ceas ?
Ps.
Haha
Enfin quelqu'un d'autre a remarqué
the 2 4 6 8 10 12 is awkward lol.
and you totally could have calibrated the time for this video. lol.
This both model are not solar
In the specification details its written as Casio protrek solar powered. Is it true or not pliz?
