Hey there Brian. Good to see you again. I do know Gillan as in Ian. I also know Gilligan as in Island. But I have not heard Gillian Welsh. You got me interested both GW and the Punch Brothers. All top notch musicians? I did like the Black Merda. I think I was expecting something explosive after hearing so many people talk about them. So in a sense I was let down a little. I do dig the different styles of music on it. Funk, Soul, Rock, etc... I dig the positive words at the end. I agree with all of them. I am looking forward to the live shows the most. Also the beach, the waves, the sun and if I still know how some surfing too. Always good to see you Brian. Thanks for sharing all of these. Gillian is much different than Ian. Love them both though. Ian probably still tops her though. Haha.. My parents played him all of the time. Yes, Punch brothers and Gillian Welch are top notch musicians. Both are must listens. I really like that Black Merda. I thought it was better than I expected it to be. It was different than I thought. I was expecting more funk but got much more of a blues rock sound out of it. I think it’s awesome! Hope all is well! Can’t wait to see the final room tour from you. Great score....... That Guy Clark is probably the hardest one to find of his earliest releases. Even has Steve Earle on back up vocals when nobody knew who he was.
Yeah, I didn’t know Earle was on it until I picked it up and was reading the liner notes. Crazy!!! I saw Earle a few years ago. He did the Copperhead Road album in it’s entirety. A great show! Cheers🍀

This is actually an OG 1971 Groundhogs. I picked it up a few weeks ago at a place in Massachusetts called mystery Train records. I lucked out. First time I’ve ever seen an original Groundhogs record. That Guy Clark record blows my mind. It’s amazing. Cheers, Brian🍀

Back in the '90s they released a CD called before the beach by Jimmy Buffett with all his stuff he did before the parrot head, it was really good stuff man I wish I could find a copy of that. That's great you got that guy Clark album man! Him and towns Van zant and Jerry Jeff Walker truly are pioneers of the Americana format! When I was in radio at KFAN 1079 in Texas they were major part of our format. Really good video my friend
I need to check out Jerry Jeff Walker. Jonathan has been trying to get me to listen to him. I have Buffett’s first record. It’s called “Down to Earth”. Look for it. It’s the stuff from that early cd. It’s hard to find but it’s out there. Cheers🍀
Lyle Lovett's Pontiac may be the most underrated album of all time. It is so good that I have no problem putting it in the conversation with Townes and Guy. Great pick ups.

Hello, Brian! I didn't know Guy Clark's debut was fetching such high prices. My copy is not perfect, but I'm happy to have it. The follow up is great too, but his third album on Warner is not great. Another example of a record label signing a uniquely talented artist, and then attempting to make them more commercial by taking away all of the things that made them great. After that misstep, you can't go wrong with Guy Clark albums. Nice Scud Mountain Boys record. Joe Pernice is a top songwriter. I'd like to get vinyl copies of their first two albums. I love the sparce lo-fi sound of those early records. Good to see you. Cheers - Hedley

That White Stipes is a gem! Sturgill's Cuttin' Grass is also pretty great. Not the best pressing, but it's a fun album. V2 didn't do quite as well for me, but it's still fun. And that Townes, what a killer recording. The pressing on the reissue is great. It's become one of my favorites.

Looks like some great pickups and I did not know you were a mixologist as well. Will have to try cilantro. I love early Jimmy Buffett as well but I don't have Rancho Deluxe. Are there quite a few songs that are not on regular studio releases? That is a great Sam Cooke live record and Alice is an underrated Tom Waits album. Several albums you showed I only have on CD, so getting them on vinyl is great (Guy Clark, Sam Cooke, Tom Waits) I saw Lyle Lovett play with the Kansas City Symphony and it was amazing. I used to have that exact copy of Elephant. Great grab for $15, sold all my WS when times were tight last year. Went for well over $100 so you did well there.
