His book counterpart is less bloodthirsty, but not honorable at all. i think giving him this evil virtue, so that viewers can loath the casual way he kills but still respect a side of him, made him a better character.
And... "May THY knife chip and shatter." He does have a weird semblance of respect before a fight. But, the way he said that could have been sarcastic or mocking, now that I think about it
Just watched Masters of the Air and Austin Butler's range actually blows my mind How do you go from the most innocent of vanilla darling sweetie pies in Masters of the Air to this insanely cold embodiment of evil?
This is the best edit I have seen of him so far. You included most of his scenes, lines, and even when the others are talking about him. It's done in such a dramatic way that it looks like a trailer of a movie about him. It weaves and flows so well. Well done! Thank you so much for making this and sharing it! 😃
@@artemisskai i'm doing the same comment in every video that i see of feyd 'cause girrllll you knooow 🫠 it's completely true! (Sorry the bad english 😭)
I don't even like Science Fiction, but Damn Austin Butler is mesmerizing! I definitely plan on watching this and anything else Austin does! Love Him!!!
@@toohappy5305 That's actually another thing that I didn't expect much really. Austin's Feyd voice being sexy (even though Austin's natural voice is). lol And yet...HERE WE ARE! LOL 😆
i dont think he was angry about that, but he just used that as a way to make demands from the baron, its clear he was into the idea of it being a real fight
I think he was more pissed as it looked like an assassination attempt like he said. He clearly values his families honor like we see him reprimanding Rabban for the humiliation
So much wasted potential. In my opinion Herbert killed him off too soon. Imagine the dynamics he could have had with Paul. Cousins, who were actually meant to be married if Jessica didn't decide to cross the Benet Gesserits' plans and birth a boy instead of a girl. Additionally Feyd was and would have been sooo fascinated by Paul as a leading figure while being a serious threat himself. I even think He might have followed Paul. I don't know I just think there's so much potential in making them villains who highly respect each other, maybe even team up to a certain point.
It's a great performance serving little purpose. Of course you can introduce a villain late but if you do,you gotta make him be involved in major events amd not be ineffective. He showed up,was evil and weird and died....fun to watch tho.
I have a lot of problems with DV's "faithful" (my ass) adaptation of Dune, but aside from that, the one good thing he did was fall in love with Austin Butler. The bad guys are usually the most interesting characters in a story, and there's no doubt Butler steals the show as a charismatic and focused psychopath. (Kinda makes you think the wrong nutcase won.) I think he does have a good shot at a nomination next year and may well win it as Ledger did for his Joker.
As much as I understand where the voice of Feyd comes from (his uncle) I think it sounds too forced and he should've stayed closer to his original voice. Dune 2 was a surpisingly good movie, however, compared to Dune 1 and it was largely thanks to him.
Austin literally is so darkly mesmerizing in this role. Completely and utterly OBSESSED!
Yay same

Yeah the movies made necessary changes that add to the books imo.
"You’ve never met Harkonnens before they’re not human they’re BRUTAL"
I will never get over the delivery of this line. Perfectly done by Josh Brolin
Funniest thing in this movie is that you can tell Feyd thinks Paul is awesome lmao
They are both Harkonnens after all
Austin Butler seriously deserves an Oscar for this movie.
Hope he'll be nominated next year
I'd love it if him and tim cham got one too 😅
Honestly
He’ll definitely get a best supporting actor nom.
He's definitely a future star.
You'll see.
Eventually, an Oscar as well.
Harkonnen arena announcement is the best announcement in the all movie ever made
Exactly! The MC, the language, everything abt it got me so hype.

Best character in the movie
What's Stilgar got to do with this? This vid is about Feyd-Rautha ;)

Beautiful edit. Austin Butler IS Feyd Rautha Harkonnen. He truly is the best version out of all three.

Austin definitely delivered a performance up there with Ledger’s Joker.

Tbf the Fremen woman was a combatant that killed a dozen soldiers before giving up.
You do know that honor is subjective, right?
I think it's fair to say that he showed no honor in that movie ?
