- You can replace your worn factory Acura TSX key with a ebay key without any programming or cutting. This DIY explains how to swap your key and circuit board into the ebay key for a newer looking key. This was for a 2009-2014 Acura TSX key. May work with other Acura models that have the 4 buttons. Ebay key was around $30 shipped.

Video wasnt applicable to me because i need to replace a lost key, but i must applaud your video for being so neat, orderly and well shot. Hard to find videos like this . good job
What a great video. Rather than having a hand-held cell phone recording the video, you've got a camera that lets you use both hands!!! Imagine! Next, you keep your workspace organized and clean. Great help. The instructions you give are concise and correct. The only thing that hung me up was making sure the key was extended when replacing the spring and retainer assembly. All in all, one of the best how-to videos I've seen. Thanks a lot!
This is a good video. I was able to fix my Acura key. One thing: Inside the head of the key itself is a removable metal part that has a cam stop. This can get worn too, and causes the key to be loose. You can use the metal cam insert from the blank replacement key and it totally fits.
All these years later, thanks for the video. Just repaired my key that snapped off the keychain portion.

They are actually going to program the new key, but the thing is that it actually takes 5 min to do it.

Thanks I had to pry and break the old
key fob because the old screws near the key were seized and stripped. After I did that the replacement went well.

Question, my original key ripped off and I just ordered the eBay key fob. So in my case all I have to do is make the new key and then just take apart the bottom half of the remote, remove the chip and and place it in the new one?
Where is the transponder chip located? My key broke off the plastic.
What happens if you do same process but you dont use OEM motherboard. Can you make IT work?
Can combine the back cover of the OEM key with the Acura logo, and fit it to the new ebay key? im guessing it should fit right in.

What of I just make a duplicate key on the new blank one and switch the internal electronic parts to the new one? Will it start the car or do I need to reprogram it?

What batteries does the key use
@@AngeChavo what about if I cut the blank key and copy it from my original key? That way I just switch the mother board into the new one instead of opening up the spring mechanism.
