The most frustrating thing is that with this turkey/syria crisis, it’s completely apolitical, it’s a natural disaster not a political conflict where people get scared to speak up, yet there’s still not only so much silence from the western world, but some horrifying things that have been said and done as a response. Did y’all hear about the donations that were collected for the earthquake victims in germany was set on fire? may Allah bring justice and peace for the ummah and strengthen and protect it 😢

Yes, I agree! Even when it’s a non-political disaster that has occurred, there is still silence or minimal coverage from the major news outlets. Ameen sis to all your du’ahs!

I haven't finished the full episode, but just wanted to share my perspective as a south asian girl with medium skin tone.
I do actually find myself complimenting friends with darker/deeper skin tones, and I've never thought anything of it tbh. I think it's because I have grown up around a lot of girls at school who used to glorify 'light skins' and put down girls with darker skin, and even though it never really affected me, I realised that even now there are still a lot of girls that are slightly insecure about their darker skin tone. It's something they will never vocalise, but you will see it come out in very subtle ways. And so now I've made sure if I do find a girl pretty, I tell her! And actually, I know many times when I have complimented the skin tone of some friends that are darker, they have always been slightly taken aback or would mention how when they were younger they would be looked down on because of it.
I remember once I complimented my friend's niece's skin colour, and this friend told me that her niece was always told by elder women in her family to stay out of the sun because she's getting 'too dark'. And I was so angry hearing it. Part of me thinks, we should really compliment girls with darker skin if we find them beautiful, because so much has been done to put them down!
Btw I'm not saying every dark skin girl needs to be complimented about their skin tone, or needs to hear it either - it would be kind of weird if we did that. But as a general rule for myself, if I notice I have a friend who is insecure about something to do with their looks, whether it be a facial feature like their nose, eyes etc, or again their skin, skin tone, I like to compliment her on that feature instead.

I really like your approach on this!!! I can relate all too well to the comments of staying out of the sun but tbh, I actually embrace it lol. Whether someone has very light skin, very dark skin or they’re somewhere in between, we are all beautiful in our own ways. No one is more superior than the other simply because of the shade of their skin.

I’d always get told “I like your skin tone”. I always assumed they meant how even it was. Alhamdulillah allahuma barak I have even skin tone.

I've heard concerning things about Sweden, tbh. The have a /really/ secular population and the government is structured to follow that; they have issue with anyone practicing their faith. Social workers have taken children from homes for the "greater good"
I do agree that the colorism is directed towards women more, because they're assessing their physical appearance for marriage or family quality. 🙄 men, they're getting judged for other superficial things.
also, yay for Bakugo at the end scene!

😂Way to start off the pod. “You People” definitely suck! I wanted it to be good, but it was horrible! Trash😫 🗑🚮. As Ameer said, there couldn’t have been a Muslim involved in the making of this movie. Side note: It’s not about Lauren having boundaries, it’s the fact that the overall acting suck. If the acting was better then intimacy wouldn’t even be a discussion.
