Gentlemen: Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but there exists a wide split in the Church involving the Latin Mass. Traditionalists now have their own churches. Many don’t accept the teaching of Vatican II or the authority of the Supreme Pontiff. Some traditional Catholic groups have rallied around the idea that the Novus Ordo was sacrilegious and invalid and therefore Vatican II is not to be accepted. They believe the Tridentine Latin Mass is to be preserved at all costs, contrary to guidelines established by Pope Francis to curtail the Latin Mass and bridge this divide that is widening by the month.
This problem is on bergolio, his contempt for traditional religious and laity shows how unworthy he is , the heretics, perverts and traitors it surrounds itself with shows again he is an evil hireling. Embraces everything and everyone else but his fellow Catholics, nothing but contempt.
Time will tell about AB Vigano. It's not just McCarrick's scandals even if that's so grave. Vigano explored the connection of the money laundering/abuse coverup funds within the Vatican Bank previous to being appointed America's Nuncio. The relationship between McCarrick & Bergogulio is quite significant. The Vatican concluded that excommunication could buffer documents that may be forthcoming.
Vigano did not "go off the rails." Francis is not legitimately elected, and regardless, Francis has excommunicated himself by his crimes agaist humanity. Neither is a council that promoted secular humanistic utopianism and implicitly denied original sin, such as VII, a legitimate council.
Vigano was slapped down by what he said, we were not surprised. Neither was he. Vigano took on all the issues at once Pope Frank, Synod Vat 2, coruption,,,,,he carpet bombed the vatican. I wish the Posse would have addressed this....How do you show respect to an authority you don't recognize....he had to do what he did......right?
If you would be so kind, please tell me how the pope wasn't legitimately elected. Though I haven't received this knowledge, I'd love to understand it all. May God bless you.
@@lakotafire2804 Apparently the St Gallen mafia, 4 cardinals would meet and conspire to promote someone to pope. The process is inspired by the Holy Ghost and if interferred with, the conclave invalid.
@@lakotafire2804 I respect the "Papal Posse," but ti believe they are wrong here. It is shortsighted to insist that there is no basis for doubting the legitimacy of Francis as pope: You can disagree, but not be trivializing of Vigano’s objections. Additions to Canon Law instituted by JPII: Universi Dominici Gregis is one of the Canons that was created to govern conclaves: “76. Should the election take place in a way other than that prescribed in the present Constitution, or should the conditions laid down here not be observed, the election is for this very reason null and void, without any need for a declaration on the matter; consequently, it confers no right on the one elected.” CHAPTER VI MATTERS TO BE OBSERVED OR AVOIDED IN THE ELECTION OF THE ROMAN PONTIFF 78. If - God forbid - in the election of the Roman Pontiff the crime of simony were to be perpetrated, I decree and declare that all those guilty thereof shall incur excommunication latae sententiae… 81. The Cardinal electors shall further abstain from any form of pact, agreement, promise or other commitment of any kind which could oblige them to give or deny their vote to a person or persons. If this were in fact done, even under oath, I decree that such a commitment shall be null and void and that no one shall be bound to observe it; and I hereby impose the penalty of excommunication latae sententiae upon those who violate this prohibition… 82. I likewise forbid the Cardinals before the election to enter into any stipulations, committing themselves of common accord to a certain course of action should one of them be elevated to the Pontificate. These promises too, should any in fact be made, even under oath, I also declare null and void. My comment: The honor of God trump’s the status of any and all within the Church. The only reason for the Church’s existence is to be God’s instrument for bringing humanity from its sinful state to salvation, which includes honoring God’s natural law, which means in large part that right is right no matter WHO or how many are wrong, and wrong is wrong no matter WHO or how few are right. If a pope does evil, like aiding and abetting mass murder, he merits condemnation in equal measure to the nature of the evil performed. If a serial murderer preforms an act of benevolence, it is an act of benevolence no matter how revolting his life might be otherwise. No one owes loyalty to intrinsic evil. It is evil in itself to believe one does owe loyalty to evil.
@@whugenbruch Yes. Francis, in my shared view with Vigano, is the real schismatic, possibly even an excommunicant through his moral criminality. And even Cardinal Mueller has contended that the Vatican has undergone a hostile takeover of elements contrary to the Catholic faith.
*To listen* goes a step further than simply *hearing* , and thus it's *deeper* . During the *50th World Communication Day* in 2016 the slogan precisely focused on "Listening". Pope Francis' quote in 2016 was as following: *_"Knowing how to LISTEN is an immense grace, it is a GIFT which we need to ask for and then make every effort to PRACTICE."_*
@~41:50 @RRoyal: "... I think we can tolerate it on some special occasions." You are beneath contempt, Sir in your arrogant condescension. Who are you, you Blind Guide? May God have Mercy on you in your insolent, prideful, wisdom.
I would have appreciated a discussion of the Quo Primum Decree. Cardinal Newman wrote: "Tolle Missam, tolle Ecclasiam! - Destroy the Mass, and you destroy the Church!" Pope Saint Pius V forever established the Traditional Latin Mass in his 1570 Decree Quo Primum: "By this our decree, to be valid IN PERPETUITY, we determine and order that NEVER shall anything be added to, omitted from, or changed in this Missal. . .At no time in the future can a priest, whether secular or order priest, ever be forced to use any other way of saying Mass. And so as to preclude once and for all any scruples of conscience and fear of ecclesiastical penalties and censures, we herewith declare that it is in virtue of our Apostolic Authority that we decree and determine that this our present order and decree is to last IN PERPETUITY and can never be legally revoked or amended at a future date. . . And if anyone would nevertheless ever dare to attempt any action contrary to this order of ours, given for all times, let him know that he has incurred the wrath of Almighty God and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul." This is a binding Decree, irrevocably established for all Time, by a Pope and Saint, to FOREVER protect the Mass. As I understand it, infractions may incur the penalty of mortal sin and excommunication. And isn't breaking with Papal Continuity, a crime against divine and ecclesiastical law?
These two commenters went to crap in a minute on Vigano. It’s a bit more nuanced then their description. Dishonest actually. Vigano is one of the few with a back bone.
I think the seminary schools for priest are not taught of life. They as notice refuse to talk about sensitive topics. I notice that there among them no fulton sheen. He was a great teacher n man of God
Thank you for a very informative program. It has really helped me to understand what the S on S really is. If I may share my own take take on this process, it appears this exercise is the way (or style) Karl Marx would choose to run the church if he awoke one morning and found himself wearing the shoes of the fisherman.
Now, at first glance, one can and will certainly follow Fr Murray's view from a canonical perspective with regard to Abp. Vigano, but on the other hand, this is not about the church of a pope, but it is the church of Jesus Christ from which he has now been excluded. In addition, he is not fundamentally questioning the papacy or even a doctrine of faith in the narrower sense. So would it not have been enough to give an official answer to his view of things and to firmly reject his opinion without excluding him? He is not an atheist or an opponent of the Catholic Church, but someone who adheres to the previous doctrine and ecclesiastical form, namely that according to which all saints and all our ancestors lived in pious faith. Should this really be a reason for excommunication, namely from a church that sees itself as the church of Jesus Christ? But there are also the words of Pope Francis himself, which he uttered on St. Joseph's Day 2022, which contradict this act of exclusion, because he speaks about the church as a community of saints and says the following: ...By virtue of the communion of saints, of this union, every member of the Church is bound to me in a profound way. But I don’t say “to me” because I am the Pope - we are bound reciprocally and in a profound way .... Let us consider, dear brothers and sisters, that in Christ no one can ever truly separate us from those we love because the bond is an existential bond, a strong bond that is in our very nature; only the manner of being together with each of them changes, but nothing and no one can break this bond. “Father, let us think about those who have denied the faith, who are apostates, who are the persecutors of the Church, who have denied their baptism: Are these also at home?”. Yes, these too, even the blasphemers, everyone. We are brothers. This is the communion of saints. The communion of saints holds together the community of believers on earth and in heaven... So how can an atheist, a blasphemer, etc. remain part of the community of saints [the church of Jesus Christ] when, on the other hand, someone who questions and rejects the development of the Church since Vatican II is excluded? Does that make sense, or is there not a huge gap between the Pope's words and actions?
Robert Moynihan on urbi et orbi channel addresses the issue of Arch Vigano's exc. Together with Dr E Mazza. It's interesting, they look at comments made by saints and scholars in earlier centuries.
Questioning the legitimacy of a particular individual to be a pope is NOT schismatic -- according to various experts on Canon Law and Doctors of the Church (predating Vatican II). Father Murray is wrong on this issue.
I think I just saw the worst Papal Posse take ever. The Vatican was totally right in its actions in regard to Viganò? I saw the fear in all three of these men’s eyes. They took the pain to speak about this topic for a few seconds and then moved on as quickly as possible.
No real discussion on the issues concerning Archbishop Vigano. Very disappointing and cowardly. More people throwing Archbishop Vigano 'under the bus.' What a shame!
It wasn't fear, it was pain. It pained them that somebody they liked and admired had embraced positions which were inimical to Church teaching to the extent that the decision by the Vatican authorities - with whom the Papal Posse often does not see eye to eye - to excommunicate Viganò is clearly justified. Viganò has overstepped all limits and has strayed into anti-Catholic territory.
@@ManuelMangani Whatever. It would be seemly and appropriate to have a more detailed discussion on such an important topic. Interesting discussion 2 weeks ago with Brian McCall and Christopher Ferrara, at The Fatima Center, 'Archbishop Vigano Accused of Schism..'

I think there is no conspiracy over the Latin Mass. It is very simple: the Roman Rite should have one principal liturgical form for the sake of unity; and if young people in their droves are driving for miles looking for Latin Masses, this does not bode well for the future of the Church and its unity. Renewed reverence in the Novus Ordo is the real solution to the liturgical crisis. The Church wants to leave the legacy of Lefebvre behind for good one day...
WE DON'T NEED SYNODS AND EUCHARISTIC CONGRESSES. WE NEED CATHOLICS WHO LIVE THE HOLY CATHOLIC LIFE AND RECEIVE OUR LORD IN THE EUCHARIST AT LEAST WEEKLY AT SUNDAY MASS LOVINGLY, DEVOUTLY AND WITH PURE HEARTS. THAT'S WHAT GOD DEMANDS OF US ALL.
Very disappointed in Father Murray’s and Robert’s comments on his Excellency Ar, Vigano. Robert went so far as to comment that Arb. Vigano’s “isolation” has caused him to go off the deep end. Sorry, you are not God nor a psychiatrist to judge a disciple of the Apostles. Sorry Raymond, as much as I like you & Mother Angelica, I will not be watching your content any longer.
Archbishop Vigano outranks all three members of the papal posse and thus deserves dignity and respect by the posse. Plus he is one of the few courageous members of the Church hierarchy who was willing to sacrifice to fight for and defend Catholics and the Body of Christ.
Some authorities in the church should intervene and tell these guys that if they are true Catholics they should stop saying too many lies and confusing people.
For two thousand years there has been controversy in the Church over differences in opinion that seems never ending. These conversations on line read by Catholic and non Catholics must be really upsetting to our Lord Jesus. I sure would like to see less of this kind of conversation. How about emphasizing what our Lord left us. Do you really think these opening conversation will bring us new members. What I am hearing from you three men (A Father, A Son and A Spiritual, leader should stop)!
It looks like a putch, the bishop can't judge the charismatics anymore, and they are also a kind of supervised by laypeople; so the Pope get's to judge everything! he wishes... This i call a popecalyps, and the winner takes it all! That's hardly the BEGINNING of the end!
The Posse sees little or nothing of value in this endeavor. There’s a bit of dismissal and suspicion of some of the people involved in the synod. Have you tried to find what little useful there may be and tried to highlight that?
The non-Catholic world spells Mass with a small m. It's their way of disrespecting Catholicism. It is sad to see EWTN imitating them. You can spell Novus Ordo with capitals, but you can't spell Mass with one???

Sad you left the one, holy, catholic and Apostolic church founded by Jesus who appointed Peter in charge. The orthodox broke away and you allow divorce and remarriage . Sad for you. The gates of hell will not prevail !
@@maryannstypa4859 Divorce is a sin -- remarriage is a graver sin per the teachings of Jesus Christ. Homosexuality is an abomination to God -- engaging in acts gravely sinful. An estimated 60% of U.S. priests and 88% of U.S. bishops are homosexual -- not suitable for the priesthood per Pope Francis [accused by Vigano of also being an extra aggressive homosexual]. There is nothing pure about the State of the Church currently. The Orthodox have married priests offering a reasonable hope of purity in the priesthood. The Catholic Church allowed married priests for the first 800 - 900 years -- abolished primarily for financial reasons [property inheritance upon death of a priest or prelate].
@@maryannstypa4859 I’ve learned more about Catholicism from my parish priest and the Divine Liturgy hasn’t changed to appease the people.
Additions to Canon Law instituted by JPII:
Universi Dominici Gregis is one of the Canons that was created to govern conclaves:
“76. Should the election take place in a way other than that prescribed in the present Constitution, or should the conditions laid down here not be observed, the election is for this very reason null and void, without any need for a declaration on the matter; consequently, it confers no right on the one elected.”
CHAPTER VI
MATTERS TO BE OBSERVED OR AVOIDED IN THE ELECTION OF THE ROMAN PONTIFF
78. If - God forbid - in the election of the Roman Pontiff the crime of simony were to be perpetrated, I decree and declare that all those guilty thereof shall incur excommunication latae sententiae…
81. The Cardinal electors shall further abstain from any form of pact, agreement, promise or other commitment of any kind which could oblige them to give or deny their vote to a person or persons. If this were in fact done, even under oath, I decree that such a commitment shall be null and void and that no one shall be bound to observe it; and I hereby impose the penalty of excommunication latae sententiae upon those who violate this prohibition…
Pope Francis' quote in 2016 was as following:
*_"Knowing how to LISTEN is an immense grace, it is a GIFT which we need to ask for and then make every effort to PRACTICE."_*

I would have appreciated a discussion of the Quo Primum Decree.
Cardinal Newman wrote: "Tolle Missam, tolle Ecclasiam! - Destroy the Mass, and you destroy the Church!"
Pope Saint Pius V forever established the Traditional Latin Mass in his 1570 Decree Quo Primum:
"By this our decree, to be valid IN PERPETUITY, we determine and order that NEVER shall anything be added to, omitted from, or changed in this Missal. . .At no time in the future can a priest, whether secular or order priest, ever be forced to use any other way of saying Mass. And so as to preclude once and for all any scruples of conscience and fear of ecclesiastical penalties and censures, we herewith declare that it is in virtue of our Apostolic Authority that we decree and determine that this our present order and decree is to last IN PERPETUITY and can never be legally revoked or amended at a future date. . . And if anyone would nevertheless ever dare to attempt any action contrary to this order of ours, given for all times, let him know that he has incurred the wrath of Almighty God and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul."
This is a binding Decree, irrevocably established for all Time, by a Pope and Saint, to FOREVER protect the Mass.
As I understand it, infractions may incur the penalty of mortal sin and excommunication.
And isn't breaking with Papal Continuity, a crime against divine and ecclesiastical law?

I think that was a 'tongue in cheek' remark by Dr Robert, and was not sincerely meant.

These two commenters went to crap in a minute on Vigano.
It’s a bit more nuanced then their description.
Dishonest actually.

@@rccyberwarrior2267 my gay (or gal) he does a bit more than “question” the legitimacy of the pope
More people throwing Archbishop Vigano 'under the bus.'
What a shame!

And what if Arch Bishop Vigano is correct.... prayers for him as maybe he is the only one with the Courage of Christ to call out the brood of Vipers, and you all just sided with the brood, allowing no room for Vigano's Truth. Not a good moment for you all....
This is the "Whatabout" show.

The Posse sees little or nothing of value in this endeavor. There’s a bit of dismissal and suspicion of some of the people involved in the synod. Have you tried to find what little useful there may be and tried to highlight that?

@@maryannstypa4859 Divorce is a sin -- remarriage is a graver sin per the teachings of Jesus Christ. Homosexuality is an abomination to God -- engaging in acts gravely sinful.
