Honestly, as a Catholic, I've NEVER met a woman or a little girl who wanted to be a diaconess so I really think this question was just to seem progressive. So happy the Pope answered so clearly.
Just because you haven't met any girl wishing to be ordained doesn't mean they don't exist, I certainly have. And they were truly gutted when some parishes didn't even allow them to serve during mass as they deemed girls and women should get close to altar only while cleaning the church...
@@LadyNarcissaI’m also Catholic. Also have never meet any woman that wanted to be a Diacon or a priest. Regardless, I disagree with your statement. The people that usually have that criticism towards the church are not even practicing Catholics. We don’t need to change transition just because it’s the “trendy” thing to do. Woman are still powerful in the church. There’s so many influential nuns and saints that have made difference in the Catholic Church. And the person that cleans my church has always been a man lol

Damn this journalist went on an activist mission not on a interview mission... so many intended misinterpretations and misquotations I could number a few: 1st : The Pope didnt say " Who am I to judge in term of homosexual activity and relationships" there is a context , in which he said if "someone who happens to be homosexual confesses, repents, wants to live in the faith and is redeemed from sin , who am I to judge?!" which is accoding to Church doctrine and the media purposefully edited and missed out and widespread; 2nd: "The Pope didnt wlecome on a gala lunch transexuals alone: " he received homeless people, prostitutes and everyone and between that lives in the margins of society in whcih a few transsexuals were included in the group" stop pretendind this was a dedicated theme lunch , it was a mercifull and welcoming lunch to everyone 3rd :"stop keeping purposefully misinforming people on regard of fidducia suplicans , like the Pope said" he didnt allow blessings to same sex unions, if only you reporters dared to read the document, do your job and informed people instead of being activists of the progressive agenda you woulndt have been embarrased yourselves... 4th : "the Pope has always been clear about women not being ordained deacons or priests" this isn´t protestantism , this is the Catholic Church that is faithfull to its apostolic doctrine Regarding emigration doesn´t this journalist know the difference between refugees and migrants (legal or illegal) someone fleeing persecution is a refugee , the world sees this being diluted time and time again and are aware you are following and agenda Its funny that i saw many clips that you purposefully left out... such is the embarrassment of wanna be journalists

My understanding is that The Church only agreed to do this interview if it had both input into the translation and the editing of the content as well as final say over the ultimate publication of the interview. The Church also required the questions to be submitted in advance of the meeting and (according to CBS) even returned edits to the phrasing of some of the questions to be more respectful or less confrontational. BTW, I think The Church was both justified and smart to impose these terms. The media has an anti-religious bias and it would be chronically self-destructive for The Church not to require its oversight and approval in exchange for access Pope Francis.
Her job is literally to ask the questions the public would ask, misinterpreations included, so that he could clarify things that the people themselves misunderstood. She did a great job.

I would recommend “Fratelli Tutti” which like all his other works is completely free to access on the Vatican’s website (translated of course). True Facts: Amoris Laetitia contradicts the mandate of Jesus & 2,000 years of perennial Magisterial teaching that forbids divorce & re-marriage. The end result is for adulterous couples committing sacrilege. Fiducia Supplicans condones the blessing of same-sex couples - what Cardinal Muëller rightfully calls"blasphemous". Abhu Dhabi heretically states that "God wills a plurality of religions". The list goes on & on. Does Bergoglio hate people who are in adulterous relationships and people who have same-sex attractions and people who follow false religions? He must not care about these people who are in a state of mortal sin and being led to hell. JESUS, St Paul & the Church are crystal clear about confronting and fighting against false doctrine that will inevitably come.

As a Catholic born in the 1950's we grew up with the depth of Catholic mysteries. Though we thought we we were modern and worldly here in the United States, truth is the world and other cultures were a mystery. Love the media or hate the media, the miracle of the media is how much it has opened our eyes to the world and other cultures. There is much of an information overload in our minds. Meanwhile the deepest mysteries of life are answered by an extreme right in the church that offers little new or a left that appears to ignore them.
@@MPFXT Remember we've had several popes in our lifetimes. He is more like Pope John XXIII, who was from a poor family and had a heart for the poor. This was a spiritual interview and a watershed epiphany for Nora O'Donnell as a journalist and Catholic. No wonder she no longer wants to anchor but conduct more thought-provoking newsworthy interviews as a senior correspondent. Good luck, Nora.
Great interview with our Catholic Pope, I agree with his views. "What so ever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me. For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." Matthew 25:35-40
I will pray too, for this "pope" to teach OUR LORD'S TRUTH, NOT Bergoglio's skewed gospel, who is changing the value of Jesus' teaching!!! Open your spiritual eyes everyone!
Norah O’Donnell is bringing up all progressive questions. Global warming, women having more “power” in the church. I can’t believe she uses the word power. That is not what Catholic Church is all about. It is not about individual power. It is about the body of Christ, the Church. It is to follow the Word of God and His teachings. The Catholic Church , since the apostles has appointed men to be shepherds of the Catholic Church as Christ was and is . The priest becomes Christ “ in persona” during the Mass and in confession. How could a woman do that? Nora also pushes the questions about birth control and surrogate motherhood. Yes, it is sad if a mother cannot conceive. But we cannot change through manipulation of science in a Petrie dish, (IVF) and another woman giving birth to a baby and giving the baby to another woman. It is the birth mother’s child. If the parent’s eggs and sperm were implanted, again man is manipulating outcomes in a persons life. God gives the gift of life, a baby , to a woman conceived in love between a husband and his wife. That is the teaching of the Catholic Church.
She is thinly veiled figurehead for the global agenda. Did you see how her eyes lit up when he said he'd speak at the UN! she is frothing at the mouth for the church to fall into heresy
@sandyshore8787 Respectfully, I find responses like yours baffling. The questions she asked are mostly the same questions that MOST people would agree are important in their life and the world today. So why should she not pose these questions to him??

Pope francis simplifies everything. Amidst all the imperfections of the church pope francis gives us a sense of hope when he always talks about peace, inclusivity and mercy. He is simple, like a father in a family who considers his children regardless of its error. Long live pope! thank you ❤
He is THE Christian model for our day and im glad the world have witnessed his accepting, non-judgemental Christian attitude.

Beautiful interview. So professional, so respectful.
Yep, women have a lot of roles in the church. No need to be priests or deacons. Jesus did not choose a female to be one of the 12 apostles.

Nobody ever asks why Napoleon is buried in France🇫🇷 or George Washington in the USA 🇺🇸
Similarly, it's obvious why remains of the apostles rest in Catholic churches 🇻🇦
Agree, there's a reason why there is 103 Catholic Parishes in Israel and most significant The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
I don't get what you mean?
@lukemurray4950 hi
Well, can you tell me why Napoleon is buried in France and not in Botswana?
@@DUZCO10 Can you just tell me what you mean? Napoleon was buried in France because he was French. Why are the apostles buried in Catholic Churches? Because that is where the Roman empire killed them and then took over the Religion and it's sites.
@lukemurray4950 id be careful with that claim. Constantine legalized Christianity in the early 4th century (Edict of Milan). And we did not have a new testament compiled until the late 4th century so how do you know the 27 books selected are correct if the church was corrupted in early 4th century if not earlier?
43:07 Everyone who truly repents from their sin. God loves sinners but not sin. Christ came to forgive our sins and always said "leave and sin no more"

Damn this journalist went on an activist mission not on a interview mission... so many intended misinterpretations and misquotations I could number a few:
1st : The Pope didnt say " Who am I to judge in term of homosexual activity and relationships" there is a context , in which he said if "someone who happens to be homosexual confesses, repents, wants to live in the faith and is redeemed from sin , who am I to judge?!" which is accoding to Church doctrine and the media purposefully edited and missed out and widespread;
2nd: "The Pope didnt wlecome on a gala lunch transexuals alone: " he received homeless people, prostitutes and everyone and between that lives in the margins of society in whcih a few transsexuals were included in the group" stop pretendind this was a dedicated theme lunch , it was a mercifull and welcoming lunch to everyone
3rd :"stop keeping purposefully misinforming people on regard of fidducia suplicans , like the Pope said" he didnt allow blessings to same sex unions, if only you reporters dared to read the document, do your job and informed people instead of being activists of the progressive agenda you woulndt have been embarrased yourselves...
4th : "the Pope has always been clear about women not being ordained deacons or priests" this isn´t protestantism , this is the Catholic Church that is faithfull to its apostolic doctrine
Regarding emigration doesn´t this journalist know the difference between refugees and migrants (legal or illegal) someone fleeing persecution is a refugee , the world sees this being diluted time and time again and are aware you are following and agenda
Its funny that i saw many clips that you purposefully left out... such is the embarrassment of wanna be journalists
She likely went into the discussion with a biased agenda without much concern for clarity and truth.
Frances did say, "let them come to Church and we will figure it out". The faith of this man is amazing. His heart is HUGE wanting to help save souls. Ugh!
I am not a Catholic. But I had admire this man's vision.
Ooh may I recommend reading some of the encyclicals that Pope Francis has written over the years? I would recommend “Fratelli Tutti” which like all his other works is completely free to access on the Vatican’s website (translated of course). It’s a short but valuable book that can change the way you look at people and how you interact with them.

Kind of... they did pretty well. He provided very PR-friendly responses, frankly.

JESUS, St Paul & the Church are crystal clear about confronting and fighting against false doctrine that will inevitably come.

the pope is a globalist, the same as she is
As a Catholic born in the 1950's we grew up with the depth of Catholic mysteries.
When Bergoglio wears white I understand the usage of the term snowflake.
@@MPFXT Remember we've had several popes in our lifetimes. He is more like Pope John XXIII, who was from a poor family and had a heart for the poor. Followed by Paul VI and JP II, the hardliners on theology and anti-marxists etc. Pope Francis actually had the background in science and knows how it drives capitalism plus the science-religion debate in the world. The Catholic Religion is diminishing because people won't accept religious mystery as an explanation, though the human neocortex is still a mystery.
