I've played violin for ten years now and honestly the most fun I have is playing big pop and sometimes rock songs. classical is great and it has it's place but that's what I enjoy. they are a little extra with their cellos but that's why they use electric most of the time and cellos are pretty durable
Violin gets some shine due to folk part of folk punk but in general there really should be more classical instruments used in modern music

Every video from these guys is like a mini movie, utterly amazing production value. 7 years on, and this video is still perfect. I've always been the "odd one" for listening to classical music and modern stuff like Thomas Bergersen, Audiomachine, ES Postumus and 2Cellos. Out of all the music I've tried to introduce people to, 2Cellos has by FAR had the most enthusiastic response. There's just something about the two of them and their overwhelming love of music and performing that people gravitate towards.

The fact that they're a pair of insanely enthusiastic, brilliant musicians who love to laugh at themselves as much as they enjoy hamming it up doesn't hurt.
And, oh yeah--their remixes are incredibly lovely. (That too!)

Allow me to introduce you to Apocalyptica, they started that before it was cool..
Great version. I love the end where they show us seniors still love good music and have a dance about like we did when we were young. I worked senior care when I was young and if I walked in on a room full of seniors dancing about I'd probably have joined in, not worried they weren't passive and quiet.
One doesn't get old watching these fantastic albums, I'm watching you,writing the message and dancing at the same time. With great love and appreciation.....

I’m taking orchestra next year at school and I’m going to pick the Cello. I’ve gone down quite the rabbit hole and found these impressive yet inspiring. This makes me want to make sure I put in all my effort and don’t give up. I love the Cello! It has such a deep haunting melody, yet it’s so beautiful. I can’t wait and thanks for inspiring me even more! ❤🎻
Tme does not stop, I grew up in the rock era, and at 73 years old, I still enjoy it the same way, despite my ailments, it fills me with good vibes that makes me continue living, age does not matter when you are young at heart, so thank you young boys, keep enjoying playing your music and I hope some day I could be able to see you together back again, both are awsome!!

Love it! I have been watching and listening to these two for many years - they are amazingly versatile from their classical background to 'playing up'! Absolutely never get bored with their music - grand concerts to individual appearances!

Well the strings or whatever is it called in english can be easily replaced for a few bucks. I play violin and you should have them replaced every couple of years. But hey, its still a lot of horse tailhair :D
Not the bow strings. The strings on the actual instrument are nylon, but the bow hairs are horse hair. I would know. I play the cello! Hardened tree resin is used to keep the bow sounding nice on the instrument by making the bow sticky so it "plucks" the string better.
River Song Thanks for the explanation. I knew that muscians used resin on violin strings (and presumptively on similar instruments), but I never knew why. Now I do! 😊

In retrospect, this is actually a beautiful music video to help us remember Avicci and keep his music alive 🙌 When he passed away I was in my mid 20s, so by the time it gets to 2069, if I’m lucky enough to still be here… I’d love someone to come play this for me in the nursing home!

Don't get me wrong, I think they are great cellists. But I think their video's have become too predictable. Starts with classic, arts-farty, post, old or oldfashioned setting and it ends rock&roll with fluffy bows.
Look for thunderstruck/2cellos/maisky/Biënnale to see that they can play Ac/dc's thunderstruck without any damage on the bows.
I love the song, but I think I love the video even more. Its actually a cool kind of story being told in the video, rather than the random shit most modern songs have in their videos. Thumbs up!
