Explore Colombia: Lost places & Landslides

An early look into the sky tells me that raingear will be necessary today. I see many landslides along the way of an absolutely amazing dirtroad. After leaving behind Pamplona another trail in the mountains leads me to the old town of Gramalote, where time ago a landslide destroyed everything. Only the ruins of the church can still be seen.

Amazing views all along the trip. 2/3 of colombia are mountains and the landscape is something to enjoy. You show the country as most don't know it. Congrats.!

6:00 never thought about it before, but I haven't seen sunflowers (giraflores) very often in Colombia! From what I recall about Gramalote, it wasn't a conventional landslide, it was subsidence underground which destroyed all of the structures. It must have made a lot of noise from what that person told you, but it wasn't a Mocoa-like situation.

No, sunflowers are not so common in Colombia. Thats why I had to stop and take a photo there.... And yes, Mocoa was different and it was much much worse! In Gramalote thankfully nobody died.

Danke Claus, ja, das mit dem Wetter ist im Mai und Juni manchmal etwas feucht....🙃 Aber es macht trotzdem sooo viel Spass, durch Kolumbien zu fahren - auf Regen folgt ja wieder Sonnenschein!
