    Congrats man, it's a great feeling when it all comes together and works. I swapped a 2rz into my 93 pickup that I bought for $500 out of a burned up tacoma. That was 10 years and 30k miles ago. Where'd you get the manifold and turbo from? Also wondering where you ran the oil return from the turbo to? I actually have an oil return on my oil pan right now as I was going to go turbo and never did, but you've peaked my interest again

      I had the manifold on my 82 Supra that I 3rz swapped, I fabbed it myself, and the turbo is just an eBay no name. The oil return is on a bung on the oil pan, there’s more videos on the swap on my channel, both the pickup and the Supra.
      The turbo really wakes these engines up, and as of writing this comment I’ve put over 3k miles on the truck and I’m about to roll over to 300k on the 2rz that’s running stock head gasket and bolts, and I drive rather spirited.

      ha, man thats awesome. I don't know how many miles are on my 2rz, because it came out of a tacoma that was burned from the firewall forward. I've put about 25k miles on it so far. I did adjust the valves and I'd recommend you at least check the valve clearances if you haven't, so you don't burn any. The clearances tend to get tighter on the 2rz as they wear@@redlineranch.

      @@vela07 I have an engine at the machine shop that I’ll be building for 450+hp, I’ll completely rebuild the head and it should be good to go for a long time!

    Nice setup, where did you get the y-pipe at the throttle body?

    • @redlineranch.
      @redlineranch.  8 місяців тому +2

      I custom fabbed the MAF onto a 2.5” intercooler pipe kit I got off marketplace

    Man this is amazing I also have a 96 Tacoma with a 2rz that I have boosted it runs well enough but could be better running on stock ECU still going to mount an intercooler soon but I'm curious what did you do with your intake temperature sensor I just have mine laying in the engine bay do you think I should put it in the charge pipe would it help

      Also should I move my mass air flow sensor to buy my throttle body right now it's in front of the turbo also I still have a distributor IDK if that makes a huge difference or not but I saw that your mass air flow sensor was right next to your throttle body

    • @redlineranch.
      @redlineranch.  5 місяців тому +1

      I’ve actually changed where my MAF sensor is to pre turbo, it helped a ton, my intake air sensor is built into my mass air flow sensor, I would suggest trying to get it in the charge pipe as close to the intake plenum as possible, to get the best air temp readings for your ECU to give proper fuel

      @@redlineranch. also I have a extra set of blue top injectors and some brown injectors out of my old 94 4Runners 3.0 three little bit different but my plan is to Decap a few of them and try to flow test them very crudely I would like to get 450cc injectors but I don't want to have to pay for them so I'm hoping modifying this extra set might help if and when I do it I'll come back here and update you on how it went
