Nice reaction, and speculations. Which are mostly wrong. It's fun to watch people try to figure out Babymetal on the first try and get it wrong. It opens their mind outside the box and reveals to them not all bands are created equal. Great reaction, thoroughly enjoyed it. Just quick note, no, the group was formed around the lead singer's (Su-metal) voice and stage presence. Everyone and everything else sprouted from that, including the twin-like scream and dancers (Yuimetal and Moametal). All came from Sakura Gakuin, the parent jpop idol group. The Kami band came later when they were able to afford to pay for session musicians. The girls performed to a backing track everywhere they could from shopping centers and malls, to streets, fairs, and various variety tv shows. They had to borrow clothes for their first few headlining performances and music videos. Continue on your Babymetal journey, The One will be here to answer all of your questions. I do think you should still do Gimme Chocolate, the music video that went viral 10 years ago. They've also performed on the Stephen Cobert show. They are my most favorite band of all time. Another song I would recommend is Karate, Road of Resistance Live in Japan. Enjoy!
@@mcflyjp they are currently touring Europe and will be in the US later this year. You might just out of curiosity see if they are coming to a venue near you so if you like them enough to go see them, you won't miss them.
@@mcflyjp To add on to what he said. Babymetal probably has one of the most interesting stories for their rise to the top. The group was formed by the producer Kei Kobayashi, who is a metalhead music producer that got placed as part of the staff for the young idol group. The company Amuse wasn't really an idol agency, but was trying to gain traction in it, by in part starting Sakura Gakuin, so him and the other staff just sorta got moved there. Amuse didn't really see any future prospects for Babymetal, so they didn't give it funding, and everyone around them just laughed as they were preparing and practicing, thinking it was some sort of parody of metal. Though Koba was quite serious and believed metal needed an injection of youth for the genre to ever take off again in Japan, so he formed his own genre of what he called "kawaii metal" It took Babymetal's hard won success outside of Sakura Gakuin for Amuse to put funding behind it.
@Edmund Woo, and they are doing another European tour as well in November got tickets for both back to back shows at the Roundhouse venue. Yes, i am a greedy man just after seeing them at Wembley Arena last week but thats the BabyMetal addiction for you 🤣🤘🏼🦊
10:36 sorry you are wrong, Su (lead singer) is the reason for the existence of the band (and group), its like "okay we have got an amazing singer, now we need to find the band to match her and make it a unique metal group".
I mean it was all speculation of which I was wrong about and learned from the comments. Never said I KNEW any of it. But yes. I'm excited to see more of what she can do.
@@mcflyjpan iam sorry i don't mean to be meant haha.. About who came up first the band or the girls that a serious information back then in their first years but today that is just a fun fact. It just always really fun to interact with anyone who new to babymetal and i love that. I've always love when someone like you a musician or composer react and reviews to the music because you guys really knows what you talking about according to the music, and many thanks to you to provide knowledge about music to us the music enthusiasts. LoL!! Your ignorance is so cute! But you have the right idea!! "A Gimick", "Manufactured", "Babymetal is not Metal"....these were the things that were thrown at Babymetal in the beginning. But... Through hard work and a dedication to the craft, support from some of the biggest names in the Industry (Rob Zombie, Rob Halford, Dragon Force, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metalica, G&R, etc...), these girls, and yes they were just 11yrs and 12yrs old when they first started this thing called Babymetal back in 2010, they shut down the Haters and have become Japans #1 International Band with their last album in the 'USA' hitting #1 on Billboard's "Top Rock Album" chart in 2019 and, they just released their 4th studio album named "The Other One" last month and are currently Co-Headlining with Sabaton on their European Tour! Oh, and note that the 'Kami Band' is made up of some of the best session musicians from Japan (there is now a 'Western Kami' band also) and all the members are Male. Japanese Rock and Metal has been on the Rise Internationally for over a Decade now and if you continue down this path, you will find some AMAZING groups out there...like 'Band Maid', Lovebites, Nemophila, Maximum the Hormone, Passcode, Ningen Isu, Wagakki Band, and Many Others!! Thanks for checking out Babymetal and as always.... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
> "They had the band..." Actually, the girls came first... > "None of this stuff is out of the ordinary..." Well... they have 50+ songs by now. You may be surprised by one or another. > "This was six years ago?" The show this footage is from took place in December 2013. They were 16/14 years old by then and already did this since late 2010.
@@mcflyjp No problem. You can learn one or two things about them, if you want: verything You Need To Know About BABYMETAL - A BABYMETAL Guide ua-cam.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/v-deo.html
Great reaction and you already been told how they where formed by some great info in comments. So just have the BabyMetal experience and they are an experience 😁 and welcome to the foxhole 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Here are some fun facts about the group 1. Gimme Chocolate, their most famous song was named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years 2. Dragon Force performed Gimme Chocolate with BabyMetal 3. The Red Hot Chili Pepper performed Gimme Chocolate with them. 4. They are buds with Metallica and Slipknot 5. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's video 6. They performed the Judas Priest classics Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest 7. They are the only Asian group to ever hit #1 on Billboards Top Rock chart. 8. BabyMetal and Black Pink are the only albums by girl groups in history to enter the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Albums Year End Chart. 9. In a recent interview Corey Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal" 10. In 2015 Vogue Magazine Japan named them Women of The Year. As for what to watch next: 1.Gimme Chocolate 2. Road of Resistance Live in Japan - Generally considered one of the finest recordings of a live performance ever by anyone. 3. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero The group was formed around the lead singer Su Metal who has the vocal ability to cut through metal music. The band is known as the Kami Band are the finest session musians in Japan.
All of this makes perfect sense. What sounded like a gimmick at first actually works and for it to work there's got to be talented people doing it. Thanks for the suggestions. It'll probably be this order.
@@mcflyjp one of their most fun performances was when they performed with Rob Halford the lead singer of Judas Priest and just let it rip. Another song i forgot to list is Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Gods into in which the Kami band is highlighted in the opening before Su Metal comes out and gives a master class on controlling your vocals.
When you list songs for them to react to, you should give the video or they just get some lack luster version of it. Like the MV that uses live footage but studio audio.
Nice reaction. You've already been given a lot of info on Babymetal and their long, amazing history. So, let's talk about the actual song. Headbanger is about a 15-year-old girl going to her first concert. 15 is a big deal in Japan. The song marks it as a coming-of-age story. So happy to finally be able to go to a concert and this first concert is amazing. But halfway through you realize this only happens once in your life. You're told to etch it into your heart, so you never forget this feeling. This isn't about Babymetal as they were already doing concerts of their own before they hit 15. But imagine if you will. The first concert you went to was the Legend 1997 Apocalypse Babymetal show. And believe us when we say this concert got very metal by the end of it. You won't believe your eyes when you see how this show ended. Look for Babymetal Death legend 1997. That tittle alone should be fair warning. Babymetal is everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed.
This concert is from 2013 so Su was 16 and Yui/Moa was 14 years old. BABYMETAL debuted in 2010 as a sub unit (club) of Sakura Gakuin, a school-themed idol group where girls from 10 to 15 years old were part of the group to help them in their future careers as idols, it was basically a school for idols and at the age of 15 they were to graduate. As the group had a school theme, there were clubs like the science, cooking and heavy music clubs, BABYMETAL was the heavy music club. In 2012 Su graduated from Sakura Gakuin and BABYMETAL became independent because of the amount of popularity they gained from their music so that even when in Yui and Moa they also graduated from Sakura Gakuin in 2014, they continued in the group along with Su. In 2018, Yui left BM for health issues so from there the girls continued as a duo and in 2019 3 backup dancers called Avengers were added who took Yui's place in the choreographies and rotated in each song. In April 2023, Momoko (One of the Avengers) was officially announced as the 3rd official member of BABYMETAL and with that, the group became a trio again, you can see her as an official member in the Mirror Mirror MV. I know it's a lot of information but BABYMETAL is like a universe, plus the girls have been in the industry for many years so it's very interesting to see how they started as little girls and evolved into great artists.
You are correct on the year 2013, but you're one year off on their ages. This was Su's 16th birthday concert (birthdate 16 December 1997), hence the name "Legend 1997." So she had just turned 16, and Yui and Moa (birthdates 20 June 1999 and 4 July 1997, respectively) were both 14 during this performance.
@@garykeeling2275 While writing the comment I was in doubt because I knew it was from 2013 but not the exact date. Thank you very much for correcting me respectfully.
@@The_Sun_and_the_Moons You are right, those were typos. For Su, I had 16 on the brain because it was her 16th birthday. Moa's was just a slip of the typing finger.
Babymetal are the girls and the whole concept was created around Su-metals voice and stage precence. They have always had the opportunity to work with extremely talented musicians and songwriters and the Kami band is always amazing.
RX Bandits Atmosphere There are 2. Youre right though, there's not many. But there are some. What they are doing is no small feat, especially at their age. Nothing short of amazing.
Nice first reaction and welcome to BABYMETAL! I really liked your guessing about the band's formation because apart from being completely wrong 😁 it's actually one of the most plausible options. Since I see you have been already told about it, I'm not going to repeat it all. But reality sometimes exceeds expectations and this is one of those times. Yeah, that crowd was nuts but they had very good reasons to behave like that and to be fair, the girls are black belt in crowd control. Not to mention they had no ides about what was about to happen... 🤣(we will get there in a couple of videos). So glad you enjoyed this one. They are very diverse musically so don't try to pigeonhole their style, just... expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁 If you want to continue with their earlier stuff, this is a great option: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014): ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html Until next time! 🤘🦊
What a lot of people forget is that when the girls started they didn’t know metal. Over a few months of listening to different bands from metallic,X Japan Dragon force they came to understand and enjoy the music. So a lot of the early songs was to get young people into metal music. Like girls who would think of it a scary. It made the group open to all ages and people would go to shows with grandparents with the teenagers in the pits. Keep rocking 🤟 & kitsune up 🦊
@@mcflyjp Some of the best examples are songs like give me chocolate a song about eating chocolate. Doki Doki morning. About not wanting to get up in the morning. To catch me if you can, a song about hide and seek.(ok with a demon) or Ijime Dame Zettai a song to say bullying no more, then there is IIne a song that’s not sure of what it wants. As the girls didn’t know what direction they would go with. But I would say look for all there live shows not studios. Just ask members of the One and we are always happy to give advice 🦊 #not a cult 🤟
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥 You got a great suggestion for first time watching this amazing group, the only downside on this is this version got some audio issues like those little jumps in the track and the unnecessary long outro, that's why you can tell the one who recommended this there are better version clips at "Gans Tomas" and "abr metal" channel, but is not that I'm complaining, it would've been worse if it was a live compilation.🦊👍 Just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀 They came back this year to this same venue you just watched, Makuhari Messe is the name of this huge japanese convention center located outside of Tokyo in Chiba Prefecture. Everyone in BM fandom is having a great time with this new live concerts, they also held another series of live concerts at PIA Arena MM during April 1st and 2nd. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 23. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. Other key members of this project are KobaMetal, the producer and creator of this, and MikikoMetal, she's in charge of the choreography. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. You hit the spot with the role of Yui and MoaMetal hyping the crowd. Another thing that you don't see so much here in these live version is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" (which is like bowing down back and forth) summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rising up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀 The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is famous in Japan music scene. I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch: - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production. BM fans really appreciate when reactors are willing to learn and "study" more of these girls and their stories so much appreciated for taking your time. And don't worry about the gimmick comment, i get what you said, but after more than 10 years, they already transcend that term and become "living legends" and dang they really deserves that title. This month they started the Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests, the UK leg is already done and yesterday was Paris time, tomorrow is Germany turn, everyone is having a blast with these live concerts, they will come back to Europe at the end of the year with a headline show and meanwhile US fans will get the Babyklok Tour along with festivals, so hopefully you'll get the chance to see them live and know a lot more of them before going to a concert. Keep coming back with BM songs and enjoy the ride into the Foxhole. See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
Nope. Wrong guess. The girls came first. They performed without a band at first and were killing it. It's the girls who are selling it. Metal is not popular in Japan. Gimmick should be a positive not a negative. The fact that Gimmick is looked at as a negative is part of what is wrong with American music.
Well it was a guess 🤷🏽♂️. But I assumed they were separate and then added other components later. The girls make the show 100%. Their energy is unmatched, especially for how young they are.
Nice first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL started back in 2010 and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘Great
@@mcflyjp From that list Sabaton (2018) and Bring Me The Horizon (2019) have both opened for BABYMETAL in Japan at some of their big arena shows, some very popular American and European and other bands (eg Amaranthe, Sleep Token, Avatar, The Hu) have also opened for BABYMETAL in Europe and the US.
I guess he hasn't seen the Japanese all female metal band Lovebites . Two of the best metal guitarists today in the same band, not forgetting to mention the drummer, bassist and lead vocalist. You want to see unreal finger tapping and dual harmonies by this band, watch their live performances. Be interesting to see what you think of them. Any song, won't matter.
So glad you started with this one instead of Gimme Chocolate. I LOVE Gimme Chocolate, but it's not a great serious introduction. 🤘🦊🤘 Welcome to the Fox Hole.
Don't guess. Your guesses are wrong. The concept worked without band before BABYMETAL had the money to hire musicians. The four musicians are male but two of them were wearing wigs as part of their costumes which leads to confusion.
Welcome to the Fox Hole! I don’t know where you live, but Babymetal will be touring in the US from late August to mid-October. As of writing this, they are currently opening for Sabaton and have already performed in the UK and just performed in Paris and Frankfurt. I can’t wait to see them live again in Orlando. Hopefully you can find some time.
@@mcflyjp The band is top of the line, world class, for sure, but as good as they are you can find other musicians who can play this music, which they've proven by having different bands play at different shows, but I doubt you can find many, if any, singers like Su. I think you'll realize what I mean if you check out more from them, like Akatsuki, BxMxC, Rondo of Nightmare and/or Karate.
You're actually right on the dot with the ages Su (lead singer) turned 16 the day before this concert! Moa and Yui are 15. Moa (pronounced moe-uh) Yui (pronounced U-E)
To put this in perspective, at this point in their careers they were a high school band. The high school was a music school in Japan, think like the Julliard but for performing arts in Japan, but still high school. Su-metal (lead singer) was top of her class, her voice was exceedingly powerful, the music director asked the administration to allow him to pair her with a metal band as an experiment. "Give me Chocolate" was one of the first songs they produced, and it went viral (10s of millions of views) on youtube which led to expanding the experiment. You can jump all around their catalog of work and find dozens of different music genres, they are brilliant.
Technically they were no longer a high school band at this point, because they had already gone independent from Sakura Gakuin earlier the same year. Yui and Moa were still in SG, though, but the group was no longer considered a unit of SG. You are right though that they were very fresh out of the "high school band" experience.
Sakura Gakuin wasn't a high school since the members graduated precisely when they reached the age of entering high school. And of course it definitely wasn't a music school or any school :p just an idol group produced by a talent agency.
Kawaii Metal is their genre, which Babymetal is credited with creating. There are a few other bands that are labeled as "kawaii metal," most notably Ladybaby (originally a male cross-dressing Australian wrestler called Ladybeard and two Japanese idols performing as a trio, but now an all-female four-piece) and their offshoot Ladybeard (now performing independently of Ladybaby). Babymetal, though, is by far the most famous kawaii metal group, and the group most closely associated with the genre. Their production and management company is Amuse. Babymetal will be touring the US this year, by the way, co-headlining with Dethklok.
Might just be my opinion but I agree with what you said at the end - Gimme Chocolate is a recommendation intending to shock you for your first impression, but it's a bit more jarring and gimmicky so has the a greater risk of turning people off of Babymetal if they don't know what to expect (but it is the one that went viral so it's not a bad recommendation). Headbanger is a more serious and representative song of Babymetal, and is a recommendation to break you into the concept and try and persuade you to actually like Babymetal. In my view, as soon as you've bought into the concept and accept the weird genre-defying choices then you're ready for Gimme Chocolate as well as the rest of the discography, and they still might shock you! You're pretty spot on about the other two girls (Moa and Yui) being "hype-girls", they call that roll "scream and dance". But they do sing parts and even have a few songs without the lead singer (Su) though.
I said gimmicky a few times. I was talking more about the concept. They made it work and have massive fan base so is it in no way a gimmick. This was the right song to start with it seems.
@@mcflyjp Yes you're right, it really does work and the fans take them seriously. But also it's not the first time the word gimmick has been used and I do get that perspective, and that also doesn't always have to be a bad thing anyway. But regardless, gimmick or not, what I meant is Gimme Chocolate leans into the concept/gimmick more - more high vocals, more kawaii, even the song is about wanting to eat chocolate haha (there are deeper interpretations but that's what it is on face value!). Gimme Chocolate is self aware and doesn't really take itself seriously imo. Headbanger takes itself seriously and is about a topic much more familiar to the metal genre. Based off of your reaction I think you'd have been just fine with Gimme Chocolate first, but I do think Headbanger is a safer first song to recommend to people who are less accepting of the concept to ease them in slower. Otherwise some of them might not come back!
Nice reaction brother 🤘🦊🤘. It's hard to understand Babymetal with only having experienced one song, because they do all kinds of stuff musically. I personally don't like every song they've done ( I prefer the Chunky Gent riff songs) but the ones I do I really love. Lots to discover. Rock on friend 🎸 🥁 💥
You'll get nothing but love and respect from The One. 😅 🦊🤘 like seriously music aside i love the community. Its extremely diverse and its all positivity
Welcome to the Fox Hole! 🦊🤘 Glad to see you're so open to something different. These girls have faced a lot in their career especially criticism from the metals community, but their dedication has paid off with how big they are now. I don't think gimmicks are a problem as long as you have the talent to backing it up. Hope to see more babymetal in your channel 😊
The band members are actually all males, just with long hair xD You got it right! There is a main singer, and the other 2 girls are "Hype girls"! Their official role is Scream and Dance, and their stage role is basically crowd interaction! They tell the people when to jump, when to sing along, etc :D Many people already told you the guess was incorrect, and even more: they started without a backing band, because they couldn't afford it at the beginning! They used to play off a backing track, and in that very show you watched, the first part of the show was all on backtrack, and the live band only came out of the ecore and last 5 songs! So they started to build their success without the band, but for sure the band helped to solidify it, no doubts about it!! You want to expect something different? Wait until you see other songs! They have so many different genres blended in, and you will realize that they attract so many different kind of fans, because of how versatile they are! Gimme Chocolate is one of the most "Gimmicky" songs, but if you would like to see better the skills of the band members, I would suggest "Rondo of Nightmare" live at Budokan with Mischief of the metal gods intro. Kawaii metal is the genre they invented, their record company is Amuse! That video was just off a fan channel ;)
@@mcflyjp Tbf there are groups before them that experimented a bit witht he concept: I don't know if you are aware of "Maximum the Hormone", but they often put pieces of JPop inside their metal songs! But they don't blend it, they do sudden changes xD
Thanks for this reaction, Babymetal first time is always gonna be surprising in some way even if you kind of know what to expect. Yes, your Discord member knows their stuff a bit more than the average poll voters, that's clear. Headbanger is less gimmicky, which I would also prefer. However they picked the wrong video on UA-cam, the most popular video has some glitches you might have noticed. Not that Gimme Choco is bad song or anything like that, but it has turned people away from Babymetal who later found out they actually like Babymetal. The gong is a reference to how X-Japan used to end their shows, they had long shows and the drummer (also pianist and song writer, leader) of X-Japan was exhausted got of his drums and hit the gong to end the show. Babymetal in this show still had (more) encore after this song. The Gimme Choco MV is actually based on this show. But it has the studio audio from the album. They were 14 and just-turned 16 in this show, Legend 1997 even refers to, the main singer age/birth year (who is the oldest). It was her birthday show. About tapping: we'll get to that later when you do enough reactions to Babymetal. 🙂 Babymetal live is best Babymetal.
Haha, I've talked about finger tapping, in general, not being a difficult dynamic and people got angry. But, just like any other guitar playing skill, depending on how it's used can be epic. And just 8n this song I could tell the guitarist (and entire band) is super skilled.
@@mcflyjp you'll see what I mean about the tapping eventually, no worries. We'll see what you have to say about it, just be your honest self, all we ask
Good Reaction. Babymetal is not a conventional heavy metal band. They are a group (not sure if the first of their kind) of Heavy Metal Idols. They are trained from very young for this. Babymetal was born within a larger group known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura is made up of 15 girls representing Japanese high school (from 10 to 15 years old) divided into Clubs (also traditional in Japan) such as cooking, for example. One of the promoters was passionate about heavy metal and proposed to create a Heavy Metal club, where they would fuse heavy metal with pop (Sakura was mainly a J-pop group aimed at girls of the same age group). Although nobody really thought that it had a future (not even the promoter is really sure about this), so the club was created calling it BabyMetal. It was made up of three members (SuMetal at 12 years old, MoaMetal and YuiMetal at 10 years old) and began the experiment surprising locals and strangers because they managed to transfer their target audience, also reaching the Japanese metal audience. At this concert, when SuMetal turned 16, they had to leave Sakura's group (at 15 they had to leave the group) the promoter (KobaMetal) asked the company for permission for BabyMetal to become an independent group, and although for Moa and Yui still belonged to Sakura (and participated in other subgroups of it) could also participate in an independent BabyMetal. The thing is that everything was going from strength to strength and they were beginning to gain a lot of fame in Asia, opening for Metallica, the Red Hots or BMTH among others. Then came 2014 and due to the success of Gimme Chocolate on UA-cam, they attracted the interest of the Sonisphere promoters and agreed to participate, for the first time, outside of Asia. If we take into account the strangeness of their musical proposal for Westerners and the festival's reputation for "dismissing" bands they don't like in a very bad way (they even throw urine into bottles) they were very hesitant to accept, but in the end they accepted it. they made. At first it was thought that they would perform on a secondary stage (about 5,000 people), but the success they were accumulating and that the tickets for their entire European tour sold out quickly, they decided to transfer them to the main stage. The girls commented that before going on stage they were "terrified" for two main reasons: That their proposal would not be understood by the public (it is estimated that of the more than 50,000 metalheads on the main stage, only 5% would have heard of ever of the girls and, their second fear was that the stage was deserted. The story went well (you can see it in the video for "Ijime Dame Zetai" from sonisphere 2014) and catapulted them in the west. They currently have 4 albums (Babymetal 2013, Metal Resistance 2016, Metal Galaxy 2018 and The Other One 2023) and they are, indeed, the current group of (idols) of the most important heavy metal in Japan (I am not saying the best, but the most important in levels of influence, reaching media that others can only dream of as participating in the most important Christmas program in Japan, for example) But they are also the Japanese heavy metal group that has gone the furthest in the West in history. There are videos of their history on UA-cam that are worth watching if you are interested in the group, because in addition to their music, they have a very interesting mythology.
I highly recommend listening to more bands from outside the West. Babymetal is a great start but there’s many more. The thing about non-western bands is that they bring some different ideas to some of the same stuff or totally different. They are not afraid of cords lol. I’d recommend the bands, From Japan: Band-Maid (Domination, Dice, From Now On), Lovebites (Stand and Deliver, Judgement Day), Polkadot Stingray (Fiction, kamikaze Douga "Keshin"), Ado (Usseewa, Odo). From Korea: Rolling Quartz. From Taiwan: Elephant Gym (Finger)
@@mcflyjp I found so many great things. Much due to reactions! Band-Maid became myk all time favorite band! More loved songs than AC/DC, INXS, Beatles put together!
They done many genre of Metal. Here is my recommendation. One for each genre. Speed Metal: Akatsuki Nu Metal: BxMxC Trash Metal: Give Me Chocolate Progessive Metal: Rondo Of Nightmare Pop Metal: Pa Pa Ya Metalcore: Megitsune Synth Metal: Divine Attack And many more actually hahaha. Remember always go for Live version. Enjoy.
If you want to get an idea of the touring band at their peak, check out Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Metal Gods intro. It's a solo song with the lead singer and the band and the intro goes mind blowingly hard.
The backing band members are male (info below) BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls. Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021 Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan Headbanger LIVE Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.
I'm definitely going to get into more Babymetal for the channel. Loved the mixture of genres and their stage presence. Thanks for the info! It's always interesting knowing w bands background.
@@rah2287 reading about their history and seeing an interview it originally was a gimmick that ended up with a huge following. I mentioned in the video that whether a gimmick or not doesn't matter. They have a huge amount of fans.
Definitely gimmicky but they're so much more than just the gimmick. They back it up with skill and great songwriting and that's why they're still going strong after over a decade. Their first songs were very much jarring in the way they experimented with their different elements, but after that the way they fuse pop, edm and metal is just great. Su also happens to be one of my favourite singers of all time, not due to her range or technicality, as she really doesn't impress in either of those aspects, but purely because of how powerful the emotion in her voice can be and how piercing and stable it is.
You've already got a ton of suggestions for next songs, but I'll throw my few in: "PA PA YA" ft. F Hero, and "Megitsune," are two really awesome ones. And another fun fact - Rob Zombie was quoted saying "they roll harder than you... these three girls had more energy than 90% of the bands we play with.”
Road of Resistance, Live in Japan is king of all metal..one of the best live performance videos...like ever really..and thats pretty steep in competition. Oh, and Kami band are dudes...just long hair. They are legit though. the dudes in the white are masters of their respective instrument. Rondo of Nightmare will demonstrate their cred. This "fox hole" is quite deep though, good luck travelling through it. Oh, and for shits and giggles not serious "gimmick" extreme song, check out ii ne (pronounced E-nay). they mash up pop, rock, metal, rap, electronica...madness...girls were super young in that video. its shit, but fun. Warning songs: gimmick level cringe would be ii ne, gimme chocolate, and doki doki morning..only watch after you see what they are really about as they are...amusing yet clearly...off the rails. they got some duds also, like Sis anger. Also, I would say avoid any "videos"..aka, produced put together music videos...live performances are their jam. They only did a couple music videos and realized they suck at it so stopped luckily...(such as headbanger, ijime dame zettai, and megitsune...which are good when live, but the videos are trash)
Nice reaction .... and if you continue I can't wait to see how long it takes for you to realise they're not a gimmick :D Me - I'd try Kagerou or BMC live - but honestly almost anything from the 97 concert is good if you want to see their younger stuff.
The other two acting as hypegirls is pretty close to correct. Part of their job is to sort of direct the audience as to which parts of they song they're supposed to cheer along with. However, one of the few exceptions is actually for this song itself. There's a trend of Babymetal performing on their birthdays, and on Yuimetal and Moametal's 15th birthdays (since the song is about a 15th birthday), they each got to sing the melody during the second half of the song, with Sumetal very solemnly and ceremoniously passing the mic to the birthday girl and then trading places in the choreography. For Su's 20th birthday, they performed the song but with the lyrics changed from "15" to "20", and then on Moametal's birthday they did it again with the passing of the microphone. Unfortunately Yuimetal had left the group by then, and the only footage I've seen of her performing the song was an iffy-quality fan-recorded video of her 15th birthday concert.
I think thats really cool that they all share the spotlight so well. Its honestly amazing to have that much success at such an early age. And to see it hasn't gone to their head is really cool.
I think your Discord member gave you good advice. Gimme Choko is Babymetal's most famous/infamous song due to how gimmicky it is, but it doesn't really showcase what really makes them special. A song like this, which better showcases Su-metal's vocal abilities and the over the top scale of their live performance, is a better representation of what they are really about. This performance of Headbangerrr!!! is from 2013, and they have evolved a great deal in the decade since, so I think that it might be interesting for you to take a look at one of their more recent songs to see how they have grown in the intervening years. The music video of their new song 'Mirror, Mirror', which was filmed at their recent concert in Yokohama on April 2nd, is a good showcase of their current sound and performance.
Can you make a reaction video of Metalizm and BxMxC mashup that SG LOVE🎶 made? The video title is: Babymetal METALIZM/BxMxC mashup (song mix). Please I love your videos and I really want you to do this reaction video... can you do it for me?
Gimme chocolate really? That can't be real...I demand a recount lol... 1. Road of Resistance live (best crowd chant of all time) 2. Megitsune (probably their best song, and only song where music video is necessary, everything else watch the LIVE version) 3. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (my favorite, showcases the Kami band behind the girls more than any other song) 4. Pa Pa Ya live
I don't remember the songs I had to choose from. But Megitsune and Gimme Chocolate were on there. I'm glad I went with this one. It seems this one is a more realistic representation of the depth of their play style.
I would listen to to their new their album just released. They have grown up (they are now in their mid 20's) and thankfully ditched the kawaii stuff (if I never hear Gimme Chocolate again, I am good).
@@chrisb.4547 it's actually refreshing to hear someone be a fan of Babymetal and actually say that the Kawaii metal stuff is cheesy. I don't necessarily think that but all the fans have been hating on me using the word "gimmick"
@@mcflyjp I love Babymetal and the Kami Band. The kawaii stuff is good. They have simply outgrown it. As a musician, I want to them grow and be allowed to be themselves. Not some cutesy caricatures. They are in the their mid 20's, after all. Probably the group name itself is misleading. It was OK when they were 13 but they are not babies anymore.
Wow, you pretty much hit everything on the nail on the first go. You sir are knowledgeable. The backing band are seasoned sessionists and are effing awesome to a fault. They are all dudes and are called the Kami Band. More Babymetal if you please 😊
@@mcflyjp LOL it's a recurring joke with Baby Metal as their Japanese fans kinda seem a little fanatical and their shows and lure has a lot of religious symbolism.
Wait BABYMETAL fans are fanatical?! I haven't noticed from the comments. Haha. But I went into this being warned of their fandom. It's nice to see a band with such awesome fans though.
Great Band to react with, super job. If you want to see more of the band I would suggest "Rondo Of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods intro)" or "BABYMETAL | Kagerou (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE Compilation (HQ)" 🤘🦊🤘 Also, I would suggest another Japan metal band to listen to: Band-Maid and their song "From Now On" or "Domination live"
A lot of assumptions and none of them right. To have a big crowd I expected something to be different about the group but it's the same old stuff. They are very unique. Make up your mind. To correct one point is that the band is all female. Boh the bassist is going through chemo and stands as a strong beautiful woman
*Why can’t reactors listen to the whole song (no pausing) then talk about the song.* *Most reactors try and show how smart they (think) are. They talk over the song and about* *shit that only 5% of their subs care about. Just shut up let it play and wait till it’s over*
There are multiple reasons for that that a simple Google search would tell you. 1 is copyright blocks, another is, I don't want to miss making a point because if i forget by the time the song is over. BUT, if all reactors that are successful are doing that, there probably is a good reason for it. Take care! ✌️
@@mcflyjp Crazy why someone would watch YOUR reaction/analysis, expecting a straight up viewing of a video they could easily watch on their own time. I truly admire your patience in dealing with some commenters on your channel. IF you analyze Ijime, Dame, Zettai Live in Sonisphare 2014,..and take your sweet time pausing to give your opinion then I'll subscribe 😊... that was THE song that made me a hardcore Babymetal fan.
The song is about a young girls first metal concert right? So it's quite possible that they are talking about going to a metal concert in the late 90s.
@@mcflyjpand @Jimmy They named the concert as LEGEND 1997 because it was a celebration concert of the lead singer (Suzuka Nakamoto) birthday (she was born in 1997) and the time of th3 concert is 2013.
It's revealing that so many reactions to this and other works just simply don't comment on the fact that the stage constantly changes between takes. (It's clearly visible. Just _look_ at the footage.) But you all proclaim to know best when it comes to critical appraisal of the track. I think I have a comfortably _lot_ of time listening to Babymetal. And it hurts when your ignorance reflects in the 'reaction'.
@@mcflyjp I think I make it clear enough that this is a general problem, not specific to you personally. And as such, I'll not be following you. I do subscribe to a few people I disagree with. But that is usually because the opinion opposed to mine may have a valid point.
I understand that I may have missed something. But the main thing I preach in this community is respect. Thanks for letting me know I missed something. I'll try and catch more next reaction.
You obviously didn't watch the whole video. At the end I say that they are more then that. And I have three other videos where I obsessed over them. I went into this completely blind for a reason: it was suggested to. Otherwise I always do research first.
Enjoy!
Thank you for being the first one that said "I was wrong" but that it's all part of the process of learning about a new and unique band like this.

Here are some fun facts about the group
1. Gimme Chocolate, their most famous song was named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years
2. Dragon Force performed Gimme Chocolate with BabyMetal
3. The Red Hot Chili Pepper performed Gimme Chocolate with them.
4. They are buds with Metallica and Slipknot
5. They had a cameo in Corey Taylor's video
6. They performed the Judas Priest classics Pain Killer and Breaking the Law with Rob Halford of Judas Priest
7. They are the only Asian group to ever hit #1 on Billboards Top Rock chart.
8. BabyMetal and Black Pink are the only albums by girl groups in history to enter the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Albums Year End Chart.
9. In a recent interview Corey Taylor of Slipknot was asked who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal"
10. In 2015 Vogue Magazine Japan named them Women of The Year.
As for what to watch next:
1.Gimme Chocolate
2. Road of Resistance Live in Japan - Generally considered one of the finest recordings of a live performance ever by anyone.
3. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero
The group was formed around the lead singer Su Metal who has the vocal ability to cut through metal music.
The show they put on seems to be unmatched and I love it!
@@garykeeling2275 20 December, not 16 December for Su, and 1999 not 1997 for Moa

@@The_Sun_and_the_Moons You are right, those were typos. For Su, I had 16 on the brain because it was her 16th birthday. Moa's was just a slip of the typing finger.

I don't think it's a gimmick, more like created their own subgenre of Metal "Cute metal"
I don't think any of their songs are actually a gimmick. But some people have said that some songs sound gimmickee.

They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are:
- "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad
- "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending,
The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
You hit the spot with the role of Yui and MoaMetal hyping the crowd. Another thing that you don't see so much here in these live version is when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, is that the choreography on this part with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" (which is like bowing down back and forth) summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rising up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- 👀
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
They are:
- Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch:
- _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production.
See you next time!🦊🤘🔥
More Babymetal to come and thank you for the kind words!
Someone say Cult #notaculthonestly 🤘🏼🦊
They are in the Top 10 Metal bands of all time after 10 years.
That's pretty amazing! I want to see more of their stuff; see a bit of their stuff in different genres
Epic performance!!! Omg! 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Unmatched energy. ESPECIALLY for their age.
By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘Great
Those are some crazy bands to open for.
I'm excited to get into more it's refreshing take on metal and I'm here for it.
I'll make note of that band. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@mcflyjp The WolfPack will be looking forward to your reactions to them, I say it in plural because i know you'll be impressed enough to see more.
So glad you started with this one instead of Gimme Chocolate. I LOVE Gimme Chocolate, but it's not a great serious introduction. 🤘🦊🤘 Welcome to the Fox Hole.
That's what I was told so I made sure to do this one instead.
Don't guess. Your guesses are wrong. The concept worked without band before BABYMETAL had the money to hire musicians. The four musicians are male but two of them were wearing wigs as part of their costumes which leads to confusion.
I'm not here to try and be right, just trying to figure out what's going on.
I'm in California. Not sure where they are touring I'd have to look.
@@mcflyjp If Babymetal is in the US, you can bet they will be in California. :)
@@mcflyjp they are playing Los Angeles October 11-12. First night sold out second night not sure. Where are you in California?
Also check out Rhondo of Nightmare. Each band member has a solo. I'd like to hear your take on their bass player.
What "makes this work" is Su.
Her voice is fantastic for this. But the band has a huge hand in it too.
Welcome to the foxhole 🤘🦊
Glad to be here.
Nice reaction! 日本からありがとう🤘🦊💕
You're actually right on the dot with the ages Su (lead singer) turned 16 the day before this concert! Moa and Yui are 15. Moa (pronounced moe-uh) Yui (pronounced U-E)
Hey at least I can do some math! Thanks for the confirmation!
Yui and Moa were 14 at the time of this show.
That’s kind of insane
That's awesome. If they come around at a good enough price I'd probably go see them.
I think, for my safety from the BABYMETAL fans, it’s good I started with this.
@@mcflyjp Haha maybe true. I'm fairly new myself, just a month or two.
I figured that. Most bands aren't defined by one song and you'd be doing yourself a disservice to think so.
You'll get nothing but love and respect from The One. 😅 🦊🤘 like seriously music aside i love the community. Its extremely diverse and its all positivity
Thanks! They've been respectful and awesome to me this far. Some major fanatics but nothing bad towards me in any way.
@mcflyjp exactly lol I'm a giant fan and some of the fanatics scare me hahaha but you won't get any hate it's a fun time
Welcome to the Fox Hole! 🦊🤘
Glad to see you're so open to something different. These girls have faced a lot in their career especially criticism from the metals community, but their dedication has paid off with how big they are now.
I don't think gimmicks are a problem as long as you have the talent to backing it up.
Hope to see more babymetal in your channel 😊
Couldn't say it better myself. Gimmick doesn't matter if you've a huge following and immense talent backing it up.
The band members are actually all males, just with long hair xD
You got it right! There is a main singer, and the other 2 girls are "Hype girls"! Their official role is Scream and Dance, and their stage role is basically crowd interaction! They tell the people when to jump, when to sing along, etc :D
Many people already told you the guess was incorrect, and even more: they started without a backing band, because they couldn't afford it at the beginning!
It's a very interesting and talented group that made something in sure many people thought wouldn't work, work.
@@mcflyjp Tbf there are groups before them that experimented a bit witht he concept: I don't know if you are aware of "Maximum the Hormone", but they often put pieces of JPop inside their metal songs! But they don't blend it, they do sudden changes xD
Exactly. So this is different. And I like this way.
Megitsune, Karate, Road of Resistance...great ones to see next.
These are on the list and I will get to them as soon as I can. Thanks for the suggestions!
Babymetal live is best Babymetal.
Haha I'm not sure where it is going. I know the most impressed I've ever been with finger tapping is Buckethead.
Sugoi! Saw them in 2019, seeing them again in September at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival!
Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult #fusionmetal #metalAF
I bet those shows were amazing!
They currently have 4 albums (Babymetal 2013, Metal Resistance 2016, Metal Galaxy 2018 and The Other One 2023) and they are, indeed, the current group of (idols) of the most important heavy metal in Japan (I am not saying the best, but the most important in levels of influence, reaching media that others can only dream of as participating in the most important Christmas program in Japan, for example)
But they are also the Japanese heavy metal group that has gone the furthest in the West in history.
There are videos of their history on UA-cam that are worth watching if you are interested in the group, because in addition to their music, they have a very interesting mythology.
I am interested in the history of BABYMETAL videos as their background is definitely interesting.
Thanks for some more stuff to discover. We have to go out and seek stuff outside the west which isn’t too difficult with the internet now.
@@mcflyjp I found so many great things. Much due to reactions! Band-Maid became myk all time favorite band! More loved songs than AC/DC, INXS, Beatles put together!

Trash Metal: Give Me Chocolate
Progessive Metal: Rondo Of Nightmare
Pop Metal: Pa Pa Ya

I'll add it to the list. Thanks for the suggestions.
Almost all metal bands are "gimmicky".
I think it depends on the sub genre, but generally speaking yes. But some can be more gimmicky than others.
The backing band members are male (info below)
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons).
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.

At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

Gimmick? 😂😆 BabyMetal sells out arenas worldwide.
@@rah2287 reading about their history and seeing an interview it originally was a gimmick that ended up with a huge following. I mentioned in the video that whether a gimmick or not doesn't matter. They have a huge amount of fans.
No worries. BabyMetal fans (like myself) have an allergic reaction to the word gimmick.😉
@@rah2287 yeah. Success is success and a band that is awesome, gimmick or not, is still awesome!
The fact her voice persists through the metal music shows how powerful it is.
Oh, and there's a FANTASTIC collab with BMTH and Babymetal - their song called Kingslayer.
That's high praise from Rob zombie
I would like to recommend "Kingslayer by Bring Me The Horizon featuring Babymetal"
I'll look into that one.
Need to check out Babymetal Karate live at Buda
I'm most likely going to dive pretty deep into Babymetal so stay tuned!
As a musician, you need to see a ton of other of their songs, you have _no idea._ I don't even know where to start.
That's what I keep hearing. But don't worry I be will be doing a deep dive
Thanks for the advice. I'm glad to see someone being honest about some of the stuff.
I'll keep that stuff in mind.

Nice reaction .... and if you continue I can't wait to see how long it takes for you to realise they're not a gimmick :D Me - I'd try Kagerou or BMC live - but honestly almost anything from the 97 concert is good if you want to see their younger stuff.
Oh I found out they weren't. Me talking about a gimmick was the concept of it. Their fanbse and their music prove it's not. Excited for more!

@@mcflyjp - I don't think you'll regret it if you do. :)
I always love studying how a band has evolved; good or bad.
Can you make a reaction video of Metalizm and BxMxC mashup that SG LOVE🎶 made? The video title is: Babymetal METALIZM/BxMxC mashup (song mix). Please I love your videos and I really want you to do this reaction video... can you do it for me?
I'll at least make note of it and see if I can make a video.
Gimme chocolate really? That can't be real...I demand a recount lol...
1. Road of Resistance live (best crowd chant of all time)
2. Megitsune (probably their best song, and only song where music video is necessary, everything else watch the LIVE version)
3. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (my favorite, showcases the Kami band behind the girls more than any other song)
4. Pa Pa Ya live
I don't remember the songs I had to choose from. But Megitsune and Gimme Chocolate were on there.
I'm glad I went with this one. It seems this one is a more realistic representation of the depth of their play style.
Your world is about to change, you have no idea
Done plenty more BabyMetal and hope to get into more soon!

🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
I would listen to to their new their album just released. They have grown up (they are now in their mid 20's) and thankfully ditched the kawaii stuff (if I never hear Gimme Chocolate again, I am good).
Lol. That's what got voted for me to listen to first. People seemed to like the Kawaii metal.
@@mcflyjp Living in the past.
@@chrisb.4547 YoungAdult Metal?
The Kami Bands are all males
Yeah they had makeup on so I couldn't really tell.
Wow, you pretty much hit everything on the nail on the first go. You sir are knowledgeable. The backing band are seasoned sessionists and are effing awesome to a fault. They are all dudes and are called the Kami Band. More Babymetal if you please 😊
I'm definitely gonna be doing more BABYMETAL in the future! Thanks for the kind words.
Not a cult😳
Haha never thought they were.
I feel like I've heard of that band but not sure. I'm going to dive deeper into Babymetal for sure.
The band is male. Just the 3 girls.
For sure. Was difficult to tell with the makeup. Either way still dope.
@@mcflyjp You aren't alone in the reactor sphere that said that, so don't feel too bad.
Please do react to babymetal monochrome piano version at the first take
That one is coming up next.
All male band.......... (guys can have long hair...most metal musicians do).
It wasn't the long hair. More so the facial features. But they had makeup on and shit soni couldn't tell really. It was just a bad guess.
A lot of assumptions and none of them right. To have a big crowd I expected something to be different about the group but it's the same old stuff. They are very unique. Make up your mind. To correct one point is that the band is all female. Boh the bassist is going through chemo and stands as a strong beautiful woman
Did I say BABYMETAL was the same old stuff? I said that they were very unique. I said most metal bands it's the same old stuff.
What a bunch of nonsense.
BOH recently married (a woman) , and he is definitely a guy.
@@rickwagner- it was a joke, dumbass
Yeah .all musician is female excep bassist
I was told all are male. Now idk what to believe lol
@@mcflyjp All male
@@Grington300 thanks for the clarification.
@@mcflyjp You are very welcome.
*Why can’t reactors listen to the whole song (no pausing) then talk about the song.*
*Most reactors try and show how smart they (think) are. They talk over the song and about*
*shit that only 5% of their subs care about.
1997? lol empryoes singing?
They are like 14 through 17 in this. Pretty crazy.
@@mcflyjp in the first stuff is Moa and Aoi are 12 Su 14 but naming it 1997 is odd lol
The song is about a young girls first metal concert right? So it's quite possible that they are talking about going to a metal concert in the late 90s.
@@mcflyjp They weren't born in 97'. i mean why not 77'
@@mcflyjpand @Jimmy
They named the concert as LEGEND 1997 because it was a celebration concert of the lead singer (Suzuka Nakamoto) birthday (she was born in 1997) and the time of th3 concert is 2013.
It's revealing that so many reactions to this and other works just simply don't comment on the fact that the stage constantly changes between takes. (It's clearly visible. Just _look_ at the footage.)
But you all proclaim to know best when it comes to critical appraisal of the track.
Dude....... fad?????? They have been around since 2010 !!! And fill arenas around the world........google new artist and will improve your channel.
You obviously didn't watch the whole video. At the end I say that they are more then that. And I have three other videos where I obsessed over them. I went into this completely blind for a reason: it was suggested to. Otherwise I always do research first.
The bassist is a woman too.
I'm gonna have to search it because I've got different answers in the comments lol
