Leigh & Raymond, Excellent video!! I especially like Raymond's slam dunk 🙂 Two things:
    1) Thank you for going over your preferences in focus modes, it's quite helpful to those of use how only shoot landscapes and portraits.
    2) Your thoughts regarding the 70-200mm f/4.0 vs f/2.0 are also quite helpful, and the trades / use cases for each.

Great video! I'm also a Lumix S5 II shooter. I think that a good mention for the video would have been to include some information about the new firmware, which allows for pre-burst shooting and animal eye AF, that makes the camera much more of an action camera. It's truly wonderful to get these feature updates in this camera.
Regardless, these techniques can be applied to other cameras and give us more confidence when it comes to action photography. Thank you!

I haven't used the pre-burst shooting. I'm glad you mentioned it - I'll have to try it out!

Raymond’s dunking the basketball was my favorite part of the video. Who knew he could jump like that?!!!! 😅

I generally take photos in raw but with Jpeg to second card/backup. For me, it comes down to what kind of turnaround time you have. Like with your example of sports photographers shooting jpeg probably have tight deadlines that they have to meet. Now if you are shooting your kid's baseball games you have plenty of time to sift through and edit photos so RAW can give you more options to play around with.

Thank you for the video and all those I have watched over the years. I have a gear question. Imagine that. Last fall I purchased a Nikon Zf as my main camera. At that time I also looked hard at the S5ii. I have been generally happy with the Zf. The autofocusing options take some real study. Fast forward to the last couple of weeks. I'm very intrigued with the new S9 as a light companion camera to my Zf. The Zf and S5ii are very close in size/weight. So I'm considering moving to Panasonic Lumix. That way I would only have one set of lenses. Also, the wide variety of L mount glass is very attractive to me. From what I've read the various firmware updates have been quite useful and added new features too. Fortunately I don't have a large collection of Nikon glass. So a switch would not be too difficult or costly. Have you been pleased with the S5ii in terms of the menu system and the autofocus? Based on your use case is there anything I should know about the S5ii and Lumix system in general? By the way I just joined your membership channel. Thanks.

Either system would serve you well. I use both and I'm happy with both. The two systems are comparable in terms of ease of use and natural colors. They both do well with eye detection for portraits. If your main concern is having a smaller full frame body to go alongside your less-small full frame body (like having the S9 and S5II), then LUMIX would be a great choice, as Nikon doesn't offer a very small full frame body. If you'd like to stay with Nikon, you could add a smaller body to your collection, but it would be APS-C. Last, if you are looking to expand at some point to shooting a lot of wildlife or sports, you may want to stick with Nikon, as they do currently offer the Z8 and Z9. Thanks for supporting the channel!
