Your enthusiasm and passion for magic is why I subbed to and love this channel. Also, buying those battle decks gave me and my roommate a reason to revisit and actually play the game, where as we couldn't when we were younger.
This is the kind of product I want wizards to do more. A product that isn't designed as much for monetary value, just designed more for amazing draft, and designed to inject a lot of supply into the ecosystem.
you can't say it's not about more monetary value then charge more than a regular pack. it doesnt have any more rare or foil slots, it's bullshit that they charge more for the same production cost when they know they're going to print heat.
I mean, it is definitely about monetary value. They know TSR is going to sell like hotcakes. That said, I do agree that this is a real good product and a much-needed injection of important cards.
I love the old frame. I loved time spiral block as that’s what I played the game the second time. They should bring in some of those Future Sight borders to make people really grumpy.

Universes Beyond possibility...that said, The Star Trek CCG is still quite alive and kicking in communities all over the planet, taken over by the fans (look up "The Continuing Committee" for those in charge) with new digital sets being released semi regularly. So Universes Beyond in the future, maybe, but go check the STCCG out if you're wanting a Star Trek CCG fix. It's pretty decent.

Magic being embarassed of being Magic is the perfect description of what I felt when they announced Universes Beyond, what I feel when I'm looking at modern art direction and world design.
Yeah, while I was very happy for the old-framed cards I cannot stop myself from thinking, “those modern artwork sure looks out of place in the classic design” the frame self is miles better than the modern artwork, quite sad
Well Prof, I gotta say, I was gonna mention here that I'm very surprised that you haven't talked about (hurrgh! Gotta keep the vomit in...) "Universes Beyond" yet...and here you are teasing at the video's arrival soon. I was furiously texting my friend the day that news came out and said that I was going to come and look for your vid on it. I can't wait for it to arrive. As for Time Spiral Remastered...it looks great. As terrible a direction as Magic's gone in lately, this set is a breath of fresh air. I was shocked at how many good and smart _constructed_ reprints are here, instead of only limited reprints, though the set obviously has plenty of those too. So like you said, it's reprints done right. It actually focuses on the game, so this is a nice change back to Game First and Collectable Second. It's a set for all of us, instead of promoting exclusivity by saying that it "isn't for you", though I do worry about the price. If the price isn't good, then it'll be the usual Magic problems all over again. And it's Magic that is proud to be Magic. Hopefully this won't be the last time once (oh stomach, keep still) "Universes Beyond" is in full force. I do want to say as an aside though that as a longtime Magic player and fan that Magic needs to get this elitism out of its system. There are other games out there in this genre that are also good. They can all exist and you don't need to look down upon them. Hearthstone is a great game and there are many reasons why it is continuing to last and thrive. In fact, again as a now longtime Magic fan, I'd say HS is overall kicking Magic's ass and straight up outdoing it in many ways. We gotta stop mindlessly saying that Magic is the "best game ever". It can't be when it's riddled with problems and mismanaged to such a degree. We need to look at the game objectively and address these problems instead of excusing them away. That's one area that Blizzard (or at least Team 5) utterly destroys Wizards in. HS will actually listen to their fans and are willing to fix problems. That's one thing Wizards seems almost incapable of at this point.

Hopefully this won't be the last time once (oh stomach, keep still) "Universes Beyond" is in full force.
I do want to say as an aside though that as a longtime Magic player and fan that Magic needs to get this elitism out of its system. There are other games out there in this genre that are also good. They can all exist and you don't need to look down upon them. Hearthstone is a great game and there are many reasons why it is continuing to last and thrive. In fact, again as a now longtime Magic fan, I'd say HS is overall kicking Magic's ass and straight up outdoing it in many ways. We gotta stop mindlessly saying that Magic is the "best game ever". It can't be when it's riddled with problems and mismanaged to such a degree. We need to look at the game objectively and address these problems instead of excusing them away. That's one area that Blizzard (or at least Team 5) utterly destroys Wizards in. HS will actually listen to their fans and are willing to fix problems. That's one thing Wizards seems almost incapable of at this point.
