  • New project!! We will be building out a 2021 Dodge Promaster 2500 159 inch wheel base van and turning it into a beautiful tiny home on wheels.
    I have built a sailboat, a dinghy, two teardrops and an RV. What better way to combine all builds into one, than to build out a van and enjoy many travels!
    Journey with me as I put my skills to the test and turn an ordinary cargo van into a luxurious dwelling place on wheels!
    We will compliment this van with a full size bed, bench seating for two, running water, full electric, propane cooking appliances, lights throughout, outside shower, and top it off with solar power to run everything. And to add that extra flare… we will do it in BATMAN style!
    I hope to see you until the end when we will do a complete tour of the finished van. I hope you like it!

      Thank you Valery for checking it out... have to say, this has been a fun build and not as intimidating as van builds may seem. I think the difficult part is figuring out the layout... once you get through that, just jump in get your feet wet! :) You will be surprised how simple it really is! Thanks for checking it out. Looking forward to finishing mine soon then hit the road! Maybe see you out there some day! Cheers!

Vanmade Gear has my vote.... purchased the rear window coverings and can't wait till they get here! Next will will be front window, then the ceiling fan coverings... so far, they done me right!

    Don't sell yourself short there OBM. I've seen a bunch of your finished products and I have no doubt in my mind that this van will be as pristine if not more pristine than any van at that show, and I'm old enough to remember when the customer was always right and never wrong. I remember times when you couldn't walk into a store without 3 sales associates tripping over each other to help you. Sadly, we don't seem to live in those times anymore. Thanks so much for the video, it's progressing wonderfully. Be safe my friend.

      Thanks Kevin! I for one am happy with the way it's turning out! Yeah... customer service is almost a forgotten art. I used to work in a hardware store and made a lot of friends who would come in and request me to help them, those were fun days! Made the boss mad because they didn't want to talk to him LOL!

    Hey Al! Yeah, that was totally uncalled for being treated like you were imo. Personally, I’ve never had much interest in Mercedes to start with…over priced, over rated, and, all of them could fall over a cliff far as I’m concerned…but, that’s just ME. Glad you got the right customer service from the first booth you stopped at! And, the way they reacted to their mistake quickly says a lot about them! Kudos to THEM! Great story and great video as always! Btw, you underestimate your builds…your build looks just as good as most manufacturers if not better I’d say. Just bc these companies survived off of their name for years doesn’t make them special…after all, I remember early on in your build where you found material wrappings shoved down inside the wall supports. I’m not easily impressed, but, YOUR work skills are over the top. Be proud of that! Stay safe and again I’m off to another of your videos! ~Jim~

    Cabinets look good, as far as the white edges from the tape, you could use black wax like the wax they use on cabinets to hide defects. That would tone down the white edges.

    How big do you think your shower will be? Wondering if I should do what you're building or go with a travel trailer. We have a Class C and the shower has a huge step up to get into it, hard for my wife to use. You're doing some really good work and I'm impressed! Not really, you always do good work and I expect it of you.

    • @OregonBatman

      Hi Frank! No shower install in this one, will have a portable changing room at the rear when the doors are opened, that will be used as the shower. Thanks for checkin it out!

    Loos good - I wish you would have talked about what you were hanging them from - like was there a rib/frame behind the cabinet and did you use wood to steel self-tapping screws?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Lana! I used wood screws for attaching the cabinets. If you check out my framing video, you see what I was able to attach cabinets to. Thanks for checking it out!

    Comparison is the thief of joy. I’m building a customer promaster right now and at similar stages as you, the homey feel is what most of my customers are after, not the sterile RV feel otherwise they would just buy one of those!

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman  2 роки тому +1

      My thoughts exactly! Someone commented and said they didn't see the point in building out your own van, and to just buy one instead... yeah, I could have, but like you stated, just wasn't interested in the 'sterile' feel of a off-the-shelf van! Wishing you the best on your build, I know the new owners will love it!

    Hi there, great and very skillful built. Was wandering, so rivnuts were used for the framing only and the cabinets can be attached using regular wood screws? Vibrations would not rattle it out? Thanks so much :)

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Jelena! Not woried about vibration, there are so many wood screws holding the cabinets up. Been on many road trips, and it's surprisingly quiet inside. Nothing moving so far! :) Thanks for checking it out!
