Just found your channel yesterday and been watching all your videos! Great video!
Could you do a video on programming a bios when you get the error that says "the rom is too big for the ic"
Please show how you go about getting around this problem.
That would be awesome 👌
Ive never encountered that porblem actually. Which software do you use and on what board is it happening? On Asus?
@@MainboardMedic I've only had an Asus issue. I use "Neo Programmer"
@@cfq.tufanuf7601 That is because Asus only provides a .CAP file on their side which is bigger then the actual Bios. I will need to make a video explaining how to do that, but you basicly have to extract the .bin from the .cap
@@cfq.tufanuf7601 w uefitool it can be extracted.. or just delete the first 7FF .. keep 800 to end in hexedit.

Good thing about am5 is that the "normal" cpus have a small igpu, really useful for testing
Waste of space when not used, I can find a cheap pcie vga card for post
@@shadowopsairman1583 I think its a REALLY good thing to have, for example for my 7950x server i want to use the primary pcie slot for something else (example 4x m.2 ssd card)
@@xpatrikpvp I also really like the change, it helps with debuging a lot!
We need socketed EEProms on all the motherboards
Back in the day it was that easy! But most of the Vendors include a header which is directly connected to the EEProm. which makes programming them super easy, i just amde an adapter cable myself and that is even easier then having a socket!
Oooh😮wow, this is very important❤❤thank u😊
Just a friendly cuz ive been burnt like this. Try to use a newer gpu, that supports uefi bios, some dont and board would boot but no display or have artefacts etc like in ur testing
Ohhh right that must have been it! I was wondering why the output was so cursed! There must be no support for legacy on this board! Thank you very much!
@@MainboardMedic no worries. Also sometimes the board can boot but no display, but the keyboard works, ivee seen it and its amd fptm and u need to press y, if it has debug leds ive seen them stuck at vga+boot both on asus boards and boot on msi and gigabyte
++ will force the bios up for a new processor after a boot fail. (this is not for windows - it forces the bios up)
hi
thank you for the video
i have the same motherboard
how can i remove the heatsink that small fan on the motherboard
is there any screws behind the motherboard
since it is in my case i cant see behind the motherboard
i want to put thermal paste
thank you
Hey there, you would need to remove the board to get accec to there!
@@MainboardMedic
Thank you
Nice job :D
Can you just use a normal power supply tester or something? What is that plugs in the main 24 pin? Don't you have a regular stock stock cpu fan
i dont know exacly but i think he uses some sort of server psu
Hey there you could of course use a normal ATX power supply, but i need to monitor the Current that the board draws! It tells you a lot about the state of the Board! And i am using a 1200W server PSU that only outputs 12V and that goes into the current sensor and then into a 12V to ATX 24 pin adapter!
I do have a stock CPU fan, i only mount it for actual testing when the board runs!
@@MainboardMedic yeah i kinda know that since i have watched your video where you explain ypir testing eqipment
And you have made by yourself this 24 pin adapter for the 12 v providing extra voltages using the 2 switching power supply on the small pcb ? @MainboardMedic
Thats how it works, but its an off the shelf product! I think its called a pico adapter or something like 12V to 24 pin adapter!
So someone sold their board really cheap because they didn't know to flash the bios.... fail.
Even proper flashing fails at times,
Exactly that, and the same mistake almost happened to me!
@@shadowopsairman1583 pretty rare, plus it can be recovered easily
