The 4 cyl model has the radiator reservoir hose and another plastic hose that hides the air box. You can lift and move the hose out of the way nothing has them fastened down, just use caution of course
I'm having a tough time getting the air box back into the hinges. Certainly not as easy for me as in the video. Update: I saw some instructions that said for the 2001 V6 Ranger the air intake hose had to be disconnected. I tried that and I was able to get the filter housing back into the hinge slots before snapping the other side of the housing closed and then reconnecting the intake hose.
I cant get the housing over the filter out from under the edge of the truck. I undid the clips and it came lose but like I said I can't get it past the lip of the truck to take it completely off. Saw another video that said to disconnect the electrical component from the hose and unscrew the band over the hose therefore enabling one to remove the housing over the filter but after pulling out the safety pin I couldn't get the connection removed from the hose. Man, what's my next step???

Hey UA-cam why is it when I ask for a 2004 Ford Ranger four-cylinder air filter change I get a 2001 Ranger V-6. They’re not the same configuration. Geeesh

A 1998 ford ranger does not have AC or cabin filter...so is this an engine filter.
Well Done.
