My dealer has 7 Lightnings (5 new, 2 used). They have all been there more than a month. The widow stickers on the new ones all show 'Special Order'. This means that they are all canceled orders.
Just purchased a Lightning Lariat short range today. There are several on the lots here in California now wether you want extended range or not you can get a lightning as you wish basically. I found multiple in the exact color in the exact specs I was looking for. Some dealers not willing to go MSRP however I was able to get two dealers in driving range to go down to MSRP and another two dealers once they knew I was doing a deal with another dealer dropped below MSRP, however I had already made the deal so had I been bluffing I could have gone to either of the other two dealers and purchased below MSRP. Just some information for the next buyers out there. For context I live in the Central Valley of California so there are many dealers around me. I own an E-transit as well and I get 150 miles per charge in the winter with a 68KWH battery so the 98KWH battery with the better efficiency of the Lightning over the E-transit is going to just about double my range. Its all in how you drive with electric just as it is all in how you drive with a gas vehicle.
I had a reservation, but my turn was not up yet to place an order. I happen to be looking online and found a dealership in the bay area. Near where I live had 10 of them in stock, and one of them was exactly what I wanted to order within reason and went over there and they had a 30 K MSRP markup on it, I asked if they would sell it for MSRP and they were willing to do so. If I didn’t get so lucky, having found it the night before I probably would still be waiting.
Man I’ve been watching your videos since your first reservation vid. I too have a reservation but got the $100 refunded a long time ago when I switched dealerships. I completely agree with what your saying. Ford really messed up with this vehicle. The insane ADM markup put me off from ever considering the vehicle.
I was at the dealer in the fall with my xlt, drove into the drive thru bay, looked at the latiate lightning, my jaw dropped at the price 123,000 for a lariat, as my xlt was being serviced , I walked around the lot there were other lariat lightening I figured the prices were going to the same nope, they were 93/94000, yes the latiates dropped in price perhaps, I’m figuring the price increase of 20,000 dollars have turned of purchasers and would be purchasers so dealer lots have them on the lot. I’m debating if I would still get one maybe the second generation looks promising. With the battery fire not too sure yet, I’ll mull it over or maybe look at the hybrid f150 again, one other thing not a fan of the moon roof , panoramic roof on the latiate had it on my flex always kept the shade closed, when open made it hot inside, caused glare on the dash, rather have that an option and choose no or a delete option, too costly to replace and won’t be the same if replaced. Those are my thoughts
Glad to hear they are increasing production, got my hopes up in late January when I was invited to place an order and I could only choose to order an 80k truck instead of the 50k Pro. Talk about upselling! Felt like getting the Tru-coat in Fargo. Pickleball is fun, we played it at the fire house for PT.
Here in canada the pro is available as of November, it’s only 5k less than the xlt, ford’s pricing is out of wack and looks like they are back at the old games car makers were doing before
2022 ER Lariat owner...10K miles... completely agree that the bubble has burst! You should never pay over MSRP. Fact. Automobiles depreciate. Fact. Just think of EVs as a regular vehicle (they are) and not a shiny new toy you have to get... Also love pickleball, kids, cousins and all the family loves playing in the Summer!... Love your entrepreneur mindset Larry!
My XLT Lightning was supposed to be built in early January, but I canceled my order. They built it anyways maybe a week behind their schedule and then they emailed me it was in transit. Then the stop production because of the fire happened and here in early March it still hasn't made it to the dealer. I had been thinking of asking the dealer if they were going to mark it up on the lot or not. I probably won't, but if they offered to sell it below MSRP, it could be irresistible even though a lot of reasons I canceled it are still in place. (Stocks down, but not as bad as January, and my Tesla trade in value dropped like a rock). It could be another year before my Silverado/Cybertruck reservations bear fruit.
I believe that you are correct that the price of Lightnings will eventually decrease. However, I don't expect this to happen until Chevy and Tesla start producing competitive truck EVs in volume.
Winter, and its revealed effect on Lightning range and performance, added to disappointing towing ability, separated the “maybes” from the “want ones,” especially in colder climates. Still lots of reasons to want a Lightning (especially if you’re into trucks primarily for their form factor, and not for their tow/hauling capabilities). It’s been two years; the bloom is now off the rose. Plus, there are a lot fewer buyers of $80,000 trucks today than there were 6 months ago.
The tripling of production headlines may be just hype. If you go back a year or more, Ford said they would be producing Lightnings at a rate of 150K per year by the end of 2023. Now they say they are going to triple production to achieve a production rate of 150K Lightnings per year at the end of this year.
They wont have to triple production because they will just sit on the lot and stockpile because no one can afford one with a 7% interest rate at 75 to 80k starting price
I didn’t get the Ford mobile charger, had to drop it to save $500 on order to come in under $80k. What’s a good one I can get off Amazon-need it by end of next week 🙏🏻
I find it strange that you ordered in September and still don't have your Lightning. I ordered my Lightning Lariat in November and picked it up from dealership in February in Florida.
I will sell you my Lightning Larry, I have had it 6 months but where I live the charging infrastructure sucks so I can not travel far with it. anyway if interested, it is 6 months old XLT Standard Range. I am in Canada
The market has slowed down already lotta vehicles on the lot now and they’re all over priced. I hope they ramp up there lightning manufacturing, and they all sit on the lot.
The tech / power train on this vehicle is garbage compared to what’s coming over the nest year. The batteries are not good. Range is poor. Silverado Ev is way better. I would wait for lightning version 2 if you want a ford. It will be way better then version 1
Don't do it Larry. Don't buy one. You will just sell it and prices are dropping. I had a std range lariat 150 miles and time to charge. You will get the same reduced range from the bigger battery. It's not ready for prime time, it's all hype. The problem, range range range. If you can't travel with it outside of your home area it's not a good idea.
Making money on used car prices going up was a pandemic thing. As things get back to older levels of stock it is not a reality anymore. It going to be like before the pandemic. As soon as the car leves the dealer parking lot it will loose value. What going to determine which will hold value more will be reliability and market appeal.
"Ford F150 Lightning Production DOUBLES" - Just like their prices!! Sorry, most of us don't have enough climate "change" to afford this overpriced vehicle.

the one next to me has 7 now and they use to be 30k added markup , now they 1500$ off MSRP

Subscribed to the Pickleball! Hoping the prices come down 🙏🙏

The left and right coasts are more into electric cars. Always way ahead of the curve in trends compared to the midwest.
Wave 8 XLT orders are about to open.

Larry what's your thoughts on the new pricing and can you confirm if Ford are also doing 1.9% finance
Larry, did you ever get your truck ?

Have you got your lightning yet?
about a month ago there were 9 lightnings at my dealer here in florida.
Please bend your hat. At least a little haha. It’s killing me
If you subscribe to my pickleball channel I will bend that thing so far it will look like a damn loopy loop
@@larryl I agree. Join the Pickleball channel. Do it. Do it now.
There is a dealer in Birmingham selling them for MSRP, problem is all lariats ext range
If I order f150 lariat right now how long wait
I find it strange that you ordered in September and still don't have your Lightning. I ordered my Lightning Lariat in November and picked it up from dealership in February in Florida.
Me too
So what’s the deal with your lightning build?
So what’s the deal channel dead i wondering what’s the order status on the lightning
I cancelled,,,100. Mile towing range won’t work for me
I will sell you my Lightning Larry, I have had it 6 months but where I live the charging infrastructure sucks so I can not travel far with it. anyway if interested, it is 6 months old XLT Standard Range. I am in Canada

lot less sales too
And I still don’t have my lightning…… reserved at reveal….. 10:01pm.
The tech / power train on this vehicle is garbage compared to what’s coming over the nest year. The batteries are not good. Range is poor. Silverado Ev is way better. I would wait for lightning version 2 if you want a ford. It will be way better then version 1
Nice
I don’t think it’s ever going to go down to be honest. After inflation, things rarely go all the way back.

Canceled orders everywhere, just go get one of those, obviously nobody wants them, cause they suck
