I was looking for a video like this! Thank youuu! So weird though... thats not where the blind spot is. Crazy how that works cause the blind spots between the B pillar and tail light. Youd think the sensor would be around the back of the front door.
The sensors should be available for all their vehicles. The fact that we are in 2021 and you have to get a limited model (almost 50k) to get a parking sensor is ridiculous.
its a convenience item so they tend to put those on higher end vehicles. Toyota is the first and i believe still the only one to put safety sense on every trim level of nearly every vehicle. Which is their top safety suite.
@@Peace1dy I don’t think that’s what they meant. All electronics can fail. I think they just meant that it’s another that can potentially fail. Doesn’t mean it’s bound to happen.
I had 2019 Honda Odyssey that BSI sensor stop working. Before I looked for fuses but it doesn’t have one. I removed bumper and saw wire hardness was cut for BSI. Honda factory make too short it and it on sharp metal. I soldered longer wires connects to move under metal. It was happening cut wires in IKEA store parking, someone during parking bump my van. Now it works with out any problems.
Appreciate your video 📹 post, someone hitting the bumper of a parked Lexus RX350 at any of these two spots may screw up the sensor easily driving the owner crazy trying to figure out why it suddenly failed.
Thanks, wife 2018 XLE Camry started giving a false signal. Cold here, car hasn't been hand washed by me since Nov.10. Wiped this area off, dirty and are going to car wash. This may be the answer.
Thanks for this video. I recently changed a ride side mirror of my SRX, and the light took a minute to turn on. Now it turns off, and I didn't get any fault message. Do you think I need to calibrate the sensor after replacing the mirror?
Hey Stephen my Elder in laws nocked their passenger mirror off their 2020 Camry, so they got another one online but not oem, I replaced it for them and it was fine but now it's saying rear cross traffic and blind spot malfunction see dealer, do you think the new mirror is the issue or coincidence and something else
Thanks for the video. I have a 2013 Toyota Sienna which has a non-functional BSM system, but there’s no malfunction error on the dash screen which is weird. I’ll have to remove the bumper to inspect the sensors and check all of the electrical connections.
Steve, while using the USB for music, is there a fix for not being able to switch from 1 track to another while driving? So frustrating to have to pull over or wait for a red light just to change from 1 track to another. While driving, the "Song List" option isn't able to be pressed. Uggggggh
@@stevenwelchtoyota Ok. I will give that a try later on tonight after I finish working. Just so you know what I have,, I have a Platinum Highlander Hybrid.
@@stevenwelchtoyota Yes, that did work. The only thing is that it switches the track at random numbers. I have over 100 mixes on a Thumb Drive and if I am playing track #1 and use the arrow to switch to track 2 and so on, it doesn't do that. It will switch to a higher track # like #67. Hitting the arrow again will switch it to track 9 and so on. Not in sequence... At least the arrow works to switch to a different mix. Bc it is not a blind spot detector. More like a "car is beside you" detector. It lights up longer. You are welcome.

@@breadmenv disagree. Not one car that me or my family have owned had a parking sensor issue.
Also depends on the brand itself. Toyota, yes. They can be a bit particular on the features provided at certain trim levels.

My blind spot sensor needs replacing. Do you have a ballpark estimate of what it will cost to install a new one? I’ve got a 2018 Honda CRV. TIA.
A couple of hundred dollars for the piece and labor

Did it work?
Yes, it did. Thank you, for the heads up.
beautiful
How does it read through the bumper and my Toyota dealership said that Toyota is blind spot monitoring is in the side mirrors underneath them.
It indicates on the mirrors but senses where I showed you. Birds eye view uses a camera under the mirror
Ignores the fact that caused traffic monitoring is also integrated into bsm.
Rear cross traffic is yes
I have a 2014 buick enclave and mine won't turn off? Any suggestions 🤔
Have you backed into something?
The bsm is just visible or I makes sound to and how to turn that sound on because mine is a Toyota rav4 2024 the light pops up but no sound?
I need Toyota Sienna 2022 blind sport monitor unavailable/ RCTA off please give me vedio thanks
Did you hit the back bumper?
🙏 I’ve been trying to figure this out! Cheers 🥂

Does Toyota make Corolla with BSM (factory installed)?
Thank you! Very helpful!

Thanks my friend, I bumped my back bumper of my cadillac srx. And started to get that service on my screen. Any advice how much would that be
it really depends on what you damaged. It could just need a calibration and not be that bad. could need new sensors and then you go up

was it a Toyota mirror or a aftermarket?
Those radar sensors look very expensive to replace when a Toyota with these kind of radar sensors get damaged from an accident 😬
They are pretty common over all manufacturers. If you have blind spot monitor then you probably have this system
Not so expensive..Bought a used one for 150 USD..and it should be of the same generation and the IMPORTANT thing is as Steven said is the Calibration
