For my MFC L3770CDW I had put new aftermarket cartridges and the magenta didn't recognize. Almost going to call aftermarket company but decided to try this and it worked!!!! Thanks for this video!
I have MFC-L3770CDW and it works but it takes patience as I have to try several times before I get it to work. I the video they say you have to hold for 1or 2 seconds but I guess the timing has to be perfect. For mine it was closer to 1 second (or perhaps 1.3 sec...). Like I said, I probably had to try like 7 times before I got the right timing. It is the second time I am doing this in the past 12 months and every time it is quite frustrating but with patience, it does work.
Only works on the black toner on the 3770 model. When I reset the color cartridges, it says it was accepted, then goes straight back to saying it's empty.
This does not work any more. Our corporations are run by psycho and sociopaths and narcissists who do not care a person needs to print something NOW so they do not end up in jail. The cartridge is "empty" according to the printer, even if I want to print out a document now and don't care if at some point the toner runs out and messes up a page or two. I can not replace the cartridge until next month. They use "politically correct" language and call price gouging "revenue enhancement" and lining the pockets of their rich friends while saying "We are doing the ethical thing for our share holders."

For some reason for I ended up taking out the black toner and did it that way. The black toner was the one I needed.

on mine it only worked 2 times... after that it worked no more.. it has no reset gears and I don't know if installing them would make them work
This used to work great, but I must've updated because it just doesn't work anymore.
