    Followed the trouble shooting in the video (thanks btw!) and traced it down into the pump chamber where the two tubes go out and into the mattresses - over time (and summer temps) one of the tubes had lost its shape, and consequently also lost its tightness, over the spiral fittings coming out of the pump chamber. Had to use a couple flat blade screwdrivers in order to be able to pry off the pump housing cover, to access the fittings. Because of time and hotter temps, they made the tubing stretch out into a larger diameter tube, so that it no longer fit securely around the output fitting. It was an easy fix, I just cut off the stretched out end of the tube (about 1/2”) then pressed the new “narrow”tube ending back over the fitting, and everything inflates and stays inflated. 👍🏻😉 Hope this helps somebody else too 🙏🏻

    AIR LEAK EASILY FIXED! Recently had a leak in one of our Sleep Number air chambers. Did the trouble shooting and it seemed like the leak was probably from the mattress itself, but couldn't find the pinhole leak. I put some Stan's NoTubes tubeless tire sealant for bike tires in the air chamber, over-inflated it, sealed it, and rotated the air chamber to try to coat the whole inside with the Stan's. Problem solved. The air chamber is holding air and working like normal. $3 of Stan's saved having to buy a new air chamber or new mattress.

    As a former Sleep Comfort customer and I still have the old mattress from back in the late 80's, I liked the mattress and the company so much I had no hesitation buying a newer one in 2021. The old company customer support was impeccable. The new one, Sleep Number is horrible. I have a terrible leak for 2 months now, the remote does not detect the loss of pressure... I called for service and needless to say, they were horrible, even hung up on me a few times. They were not going to fix the problem unless I pay for it and have to wait God knows how long. I would never consider buying anything from them again.

    What they don't tell you in the store....if something wrong happens...YOU have to do all the work...or they will charge you for support. Ridiculous...lost air on one side after 14 months. SN provided a part but zero in person support....Why pay this much for zero support? Within the 2 years, SN should provide warranty work...not just parts...

      Very Simple fix First: Turn the bed on and off. That should be their Very First troubleshoot. It could be somewhere else, but not where I ended up (tearing the bed apart). I will see if I can insert this advise somewhere in there. Glad I did it, though. Now, I know what's in there. Great Bed! Best sleep I have ever had!

      Agreed. Less than 5 yr owner here. $5k for the bed....Just paid $170 for new air chambers...they wanted an additional $125 for installation..... Not sure I'd buy it if I could go back in time. A LOT of hassle when it doesn't work "right". Deflating, trouble shooting, contacting customer support. Be careful and think about this before you buy.

    These beds costs THOUSANDS. To have such problems is unacceptable. Most reputable products have a notice “No consumer serviceable items inside”. Here, they tell you to take the bed apart, check hoses, “reconnect opposite hoses” (what ever that even means). And why is that even necessary? So much mumbo-jumbo. So, if you can’t fix it, they’re hoping you blame yourself. I wouldn’t recommend buying. You think you’re losing sleep now! They apparently have a “customer service department” but not technicians to fix it. I guess they think its enough “Service to the Customer” to merely send you cheap plastic fittings? There is something odd about the tens of thousands of mattress stores that are out there. How often does a family buy a mattress? Not that much!

    • @atbattson
      @atbattson 10 місяців тому +1

      @dianecalderone5077 they want you to connect the hose that goes to one side of the bed to the attachments on the pump that fills the other side of the bed. That way they can see if the pump is the problem or the hoses/bed. If the bad side of inflates and stays inflated after you swap the hose connections and the other side now does not, its the pump and not the hoses. If the bad side of the bed stays deflated its the hoses or inflatable chamber and not the pump.

    Have a three year old bed. First my wife's side started loosing air, then my side. I managed to fix her side by duct taping the hose, but my side is getting worse. So I called support they charged me a whopping $230 for replacement parts and to have someone come fix it. The best part is they can't send someone for like a month and a half after I called them with my problem. So I guess I am supposed to sleep on a board until they come since my bed won't stay inflated. Either that or sleep on my couch. I am never buying a sleep number bed again an d as soon as I can afford it I am going to get something that is not an air mattress. It's weird too because I have family that have slept on sleep number beds for YEARS and have never had this problem...

      Going through the same thing right now; however, our bed is 7 years old. Never a problem before that. In fairness - we had a Sleep Number bed for 10 years prior to purchasing this one and the only reason we had to replace after 10 years was because of a house fire. Spent HOURS on the phone with them yesterday trouble-shooting every possible cause. My hands are all scratched up from disconnecting/re-connecting/taking everything apart/putting everything back together/zippers/foam - endless. They charged me $161.85 (that includes tax, etc.) to have someone come out to "assess" what the issue is (you have to pay that up front before they will make an appointment). I asked if they could come out WITH A REPLACEMENT PUMP and an Air Chamber so that it could be taken care of in the same visit -- but no, they are not "allowed" to carry parts with them (God forbid ...). All of the reps I spoke to agree that it's either a pump or an air chamber issue [my side of the bed does not inflate and the remote control says the bed is filled to Sleep Number 100 - the highest/firmest setting), but my bed has no air in it whatsoever. It should say "0", not "100". We tried connecting the bed to wi-fi to rule out that it was a remote control problem. The app also says the bed is filled 100%. It will not let me lower the fill or reset to zero and then inflate from there. They wanted to "warn me ahead of time" that some of the parts (remote controls and pumps) have been on major back order (some due to Covid supply chain issues - but in reality, one of the salespeople said that there have been so many iterations of the Sleep Number bed the past 15 years especially so that it is practically impossible for them to stock all the different parts needed for replacement. For the price, why don't they just make a really good product that they don't have to continually try to upgrade (and then not have the service and parts for the older styles)?. So frustrating. They are due to come out tomorrow to assess the issue and then I get to find out how long it will take for that part to be in stock (definitely not before the end of March for the pumps). It's scaring me to see that other people on here say they've replaced parts and still have an issue.

    instead of swapping the hoses and waiting to find out if the connection is the source of the leak, you can spray it with soapy water while it's filled to the max. And if it turns out an o-ring is worn out, I'm wondering if there is somewhere to just buy a set of various universal/general purpose o-rings instead of buying a whole new part from the manufacturer. Definitely not worth paying out the wazoo to have someone come and install a new nozzle, or the headache of trying to figure out how to install it yourself with no instructions.

Did all the checks found out the mattress on my side was bad. Called Customer Service i said wait it's got a 10 year warranty 😁. Um , with restrictions they said 🤨.
