  • This is an assembly video of our Sleep Number P5 King Size Bed. It took just about 2 hours and 15 minutes to assemble complete. We purchased this bed on February 13th and it arrived to us on February 25th 2015.
    At the time I posted this video, this bed is now over 2 years old and has been moved several times. I can't vouch enough for how well this bed has held up to being assembled and disassembled and how east it is to move. We absolutely love this bed and have recommended it to several people since purchasing it.

    Thank you so much! I moved and I didn't know about the caps to keep the air in the mattress. I got to my new place and did not have any air and it didn't seem like the air was going in. I had to open up the bed and start from scratch. Thanks to your video my bed is full of air and I plan on sleeping like a baby tonight! 😊Thanks once again!

    While moving, my P5 bed became lumpy. Looking at your video helped me realize the center foam border popped out and was underneath the inflatable cushions, causing a ridge. Put it back where it belonged down the center and it solved the issue and saved me money from having a service visit. Thanks!

    I’ve had my “hand me down” SN bed well over 10 years now and bc of my back I’ve abused the pump like a child by never being able to leave it alone. Up until recently I’ve had ZERO issues but eventually developed very small leaks at the connection points that ended up being a 5 minute fix with some fresh o-rings I found (spares from the vape tank). I love my bed so much. After years of living in pain it really changed my quality of life.

Without this video, I would have not a clue how to tackle this job. I also appreciate that you put it up in a tight space. Great!! Happy I could help. I have actually moved a few times since purchasing this bed and it is SUPER easy to move and setup again. I don't recommend letting a dog on the bed until after its assembled. I was a little on edge that he might pop one of the air chambers. They are super heavy duty but when you spend that kind of $$$$ you want to be extra safe. You will enjoy your Sleep Number bed.

    I paid $7,000 for a Sleep Number bed. After ONLY 3 years use (still paying on the bed), the compressor quit functioning. Now, with the bed YET paid for entirely, I am being charged ONLY $200 for a new compressor (add $!00 for installment). I am told that the cost would have been much more had the compressor been older than 3-years old.

    I am.not sure if P5 is the one that the bed can go up to a sitting position and then back down...but anyway what makes the sleep number bed go up and down? Is it that black platform? Or is it the air mattress itself?

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  7 років тому +2

      So all of the sleep number beds can go into the sitting position but require buying a different (much more expensive) base. The base that I have is no different than a regular box spring. So the mattress inflates and deflates but to make it sit up requires spending more $$$. Either way, my wife and I LOVE this sleep number bed and 2 years in it's holding up awesome.

    Each time you moved, did you have to disassemble the bed? Or can it be packaged into a mattress box?

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  7 років тому +4

      I had to disassemble it. I actually love that part about the bed because it frees up a ton of space when moving. The bare minimum that I would recommend would be moving the bases assembled but tear the mattress down and protect the air mattresses. Its SUPER simple to do. Much easier than a standard king size bed.

    • @asianvixensiren

      Trucker Tom can a regular box spring be used as a modular base if it’s flat anyway and doesn’t have holes at all?

    • @DeliberateNRandom
      @DeliberateNRandom Рік тому

      @@asianvixensiren You don't want more than two inches gap between slats, if you use those. A "box spring" is not recommended, because it moves under a load. A platform or plywood can also be used for rigidity.

  • @katiesj0

    • @DeliberateNRandom
      @DeliberateNRandom Рік тому

      You can use any platform, as long as it doesn't move or have excessive gaps between the boards. On a platform or bed frame with smooth plywood would work best. You could leave it on the floor, too.

    • @DeliberateNRandom

      The easiest way I think I could explain it is saying they look similar to an I-beam with levers on the top and bottom so you can pull them out. Check Google, or call customer service and say your family member gave you the platform and no pins. Any Sleep Number associate can actually look up the sales order based on first and/or last name, state, city, phone number, sales number and a few more things. If you said it you knew the last name and state, that's possible, but there could be a lot of results if the last name was Smith.

    Anyone know anything about the p5 expanded queen? I bought it used and seems to be all there. I assemble the frame and the deck panels stick over the sides about 5 inches, not the ends just the sides. The instructions on the sleep number site states to make sure the panels are flush on all sides. Are they suppose to stick over the sides on an expanded queen or is something wrong? The panels are all the way together in the middle.
