The commandos who carried out this mission during WWII richly deserve the recognition and understanding that this documentary gave them. Perhaps 60 million lost their lives in the war. Millions more sacrificed and suffered more than the current generation appreciates. Those who worked in the war factories, shipyards, and merchant marine also were heroes. It was a time of wholesale heroism.
Amazing courage and bravery. Simple question: How in the world do you spend your days for three months when there is not much to do outside of the hours looking for food? You can go crazy from boredom. You can't read a book or watch television.
Yes, they certainly carried through brave deeds. But, like my late uncle who survived in Bomber Command, they would be the first to say that 'the real heroes' were those who didn't come back, who, like them knew the risks and faced them, till their end. Their memory be cherished.
For survival they should realy boil the fishead they got, along with the tail and fins to make nutrisious soup, and let nothing go to waist. The same goes for the bird, maybe not much marrow you get from a birds bones, but when you just cut the meat off the bones , you never get it all, and so a lot is waisted.
