- We often get asked how to put a down sleeping bag into its stuff sack. This short video will help you see the best way to this so you can get on with your next expedition.

Me and my friend were trying to put my sleeping bag in the bag for more than half an hour before I had the brilliant idea to UA-cam it. Your video was the first one and it worked! Keep this video up forever! It definitely makes things easier. When I initially bought a sleeping bag its been rolled up and put in nice and neatly so I automatically assumed you're suppose to put it in that way.
Tomorrow, my 10 y/o is going on a scouts trip for the first time. I wanted to show him how to pack his sleeping bag. For about half an hour, I tried and tried to no avail. Then, my son handed me my phone and uttered "Just UA-cam it!" 😂😂😂. I watched three other videos and this was the only one that worked. Thanks!
I spent about an hour trying to fit a sleeping bag in a dry bag and eventually ripped the bag. After watching this video I got the sleeping bag in a dry bag that was the same size as the other one in about literally one minute and ended up with room to spare in the bag. I cant believe I never knew about this. Thanks!

I have a 4th grade end of the year field trip to NASA and we are spending the night and I need my sleeping bag cuz we are sleeping under the Appollo Saturn V thingy and my sleeping bag is so damn thick I can’t even stuff it in

Hi,might be a stupid question but does compressing the sleeping bag have any effect on its ability to retain air or generally puff up?
That is a very good question. Leaving your sleeping bag compressed for long periods of time will effect its ability to puff up (loft). We recommend that you store your sleeping bag uncompressed. Some sleeping bag manufacturers supply a mesh storage bag for this purpose. Compressing your sleeping bag for short periods while you are a using it on a trip will be okay. If possible, take your sleeping bag out of the stuff sack as soon as you can to allow it time to loft before you use it. You may also need to shake it gently.
What's the little flap part of the bag and should it be on the inside or outside of the bag once you pull the draw string?
Hi +Luke Sunderland After stuffing your sleeping into the stuff sack, the little flap should be tucked inside the stuff sack across the opening to prevent any debris from entering.

Clayton Moorhead - Hi Clayton, the bag that we used in the video is a Criterion Prime 400 (www.cheaptents.com/acatalog/criterion-prime-400-down-sleeping-bag.html) - It's a -7°C down sleeping bag. The stuff sack that we used was the one for the bag, if you buy a good down bag then you should get a size specific stuff sack. All of the bags in our Criterion range come with stuff sacks specific to the size of the bag (www.cheaptents.com/acatalog/Criterion.html) -Best Wishes Gareth L

I did this and it didn’t work! My sleeping bag is so damn huge and thick
