  • If you're considering the 2023 Audi RS5 Competition, you might be wondering if the extra cost is justified. In this video, we'll break down everything you get for that hefty price and take it for a spin to see if it's worth it.
    Starting at just under $78,000, the RS5 sits atop the Audi 5 lineup, which includes the A5 at $46,700 and the S5 at $55,800. However, the specific Audi RS5 Competition I'm driving is fully loaded and comes in at $100,095.
    The major factor pushing this Audi RS5 over the $100,000 mark is the Competition Package, a $16,100 option - one of the most expensive Audi packages available. Let's take a closer look!

    Rs% comp has been dyno'd at 500 hp. They gave it a bump without advertising it. I have on in sebring black/ sportback. It is seriously quick, with great steering feel (13:1 ratio). I love it. The coilover is not too stiff. Drove 2000 km road trip and it was perfectly acceptable. No back fatigue.

    Loaded RS5s have been $100k since 2019. That was too much back then and it still is now. I bought a new one in 2019 and paid around $82k after discounts for a well equipped one, and really liked it but didn’t see $100k of value. This Competition package should have included a 500 hp engine like a Giulia Quad, C63 and M3 Comp .

    Oh man genuinely one of the best reviews, as you go through all the different trim levels and their costs as well as in-depth information about the add-on's and their prices. I havent seen other reviewers go through all that info before. Love it.

    I have an equally speced 22 RS5 in white and I absolutely LOVE it. Mine came around 100,050! So pretty close I would say.

    I almost bought a 2024 RS5 Sportback competition model for 92k a couple months ago. I decided against doing so because the value on these vehicles sinks like a stone as soon as you drive it off the lot. These cars are nice if you don’t mind losing 15k the first year. I took the more practical route and bought a new 2023 Prestige S5 Sportback instead. Just waiting on the installation of an AWE touring exhaust.

      @@omardrives How is it comfortable? I reviewed this car two weeks ago, and the ride is back breaking. I daily a BMW M, and even by my standards, the Audi was so stiff!

    Should check out the dyno results post from a few competition owners (stock, no tune). Seems 444hp is purposely underrated.

    No. The B8.5 RS5 in 2015 was around £57k and that is a lot of car for the money. To upgrade to a B9 in 2017 was around £60k but since 2019 (during and after Covid) prices shot up and a 2021+ B9 price went stupid, £90k and now the competition which only really has new alloys and removal of a few kilos for an extra £10k, and what do you get? You get the equivalent iPhone15 priced iPhone13 difference in a car, which is NOTHING

      I put a deposit down on one, can't wait. For what it's worth, the 2024 Competition package no longer comes with the carbon ceramic brakes and is now $6k cheaper.

  • @ayushbarot
    @ayushbarot 9 місяців тому

    Now the competition is extra 10k and not 16k! It’s totally worth it because you pretty much don’t need RS Design, Black Optic Carbon and Dynamic package if you opt for competition.
    Also, the reason why its 10k is because Audi is not offering ceramic brakes in any RS models this year due to material shortage. Also, you can’t just get the RS5 in 78k and be satisfied with the car lol. RS drivers assistant and Audi’s navigation are a must.
    Now the competition is even more worth because its cheaper and you can also get RS drivers assistance now for cheaper price as more features are added to standard offering.

    I reviewed this car a few weeks ago. It is so stiff and uncomfortable! I couldn't drive it for more than two hours straight. The seats are very cramped and make you tired quickly, and the ride is so harsh. I felt every single little bump. The power and handling are good though, but very planted and secure. The BMW M3 is a much more playful in that sense.

    There is really no excuse why Audi couldn't have increased the boost and given the competition atleast 500 bhp.

    • @crgregful
      @crgregful Місяць тому

      Now that time has been tested with the competition- audi actually under rated the hp on this car.. they dynoed the car and it was at 444 hp at the rear wheels... car has over 500 hp at the crank.

    It is becoming more obvious that German automakers are getting more greedy. $100K for a 2.9L engine??? GTFOH!!!! How does a car start at $77K and end up north of $100K? Not saying other manufacturers don't do the same but the Germans take it to a new level.

    I take a V8 new Mustang GT, save at least $40,000 over this Audi and enjoy naturally aspirated V8. Sadly the Audi S5 with old V8s was cooler, like that one in the original Hitman movie.

    $16000 and not 1 more HP or 1lb feet of torque? I will stick with the non competition RS5.
