Heck yeah. The Pro is absolutely awesome- thanks for helping me to learn more of the advanced features. I hooked mine up to a RED One today to try out basic recording since the old RED memory cards are super hard to find and expensive 👍
I've seen many terrific videos on the Yolobox Pro. Yours by far is the best in my opinion. Your video sold me on the unit and I am buying it today. Thank you.
I fully agree, Aaron, Bravo, such a clear and concise preview without the B.S. Futhermore, you explain tech items so that even an idiot like me can understand what your saying, but also what to do . Thanks
I have one and use it with a Roland 1-HD+ switcher. The Roland I use for switching, scene memory recall and audio mixing. I use the YoloBox Pro for encoding, lower thirds, webcam input to zoom and recording. This gives me so much flexibility.
I bought a Yolobox Pro and want to use it with a Marantz Turret... I bought an USB C/HDMI adapter but it doesn't work. Maybe you could help me ? Thanks
I enjoy your videos and ordered your Yolobox Pro stands. I just received my Pro model (clicked your affiliate link), but haven't set it up yet. Here's a question I haven't seen addressed: How do you record (video) the screen of the Yolobox Pro?
I've been looking at the Yolobox series as an addition to my mobile live stream set up and although everyone states that it will bring in a URL for a scoreboard overlay, I can't find clear information if it will bring a Webpage source as a full screen or not? So for example if I have a webpage which is running a slideshow (for example) can I bring that in as a source via either via the internal sim card or from a wifi network?
Not yet, although in theory you could sideload TeamViewer onto it since it's an Android device. Also who knows they might ship that in a software update!
Thanks for the review of an interesting gadget. Is it possible to get around the problem of limiting 6 video sources? If I connect 3 cameras, then only 3 sources remain for additional angles and video materials. This is not enough. Is there any solution?
Thank you Aaron for the awesome content. The color is off coming from my camera and stream to you tube. Do you know if it is possible to color correct the streamed video? Thank you
multi-cam recording in a studio. what does it actually record? each cam feed? the monitor feed with cuts? what is the codec? the Sling Studio made it easy to do post work with a video editor, wondering how this could be used in the same way if at all.
it records only the program output (what you see on the monitor and what it streams) as an h264 mp4 file. I remember the Sling Studio records all the feeds, that is super cool! The YoloBox doesn't work that way at the moment though.
@@aaronpk Thanks for clarifying because out of all the UA-cam videos I watched on the YoloBox Pro, they ONLY mentioned it having a chargeable internal battery. Basically, I'm wanting to plug this into a receptacle so it can run whenever I want without having to worrying about using battery power.
@@justalittledaf oh funny, interesting point. Yeah it does include the AC adapter so you can run it without worrying about the battery. It's USB-C, but it's not USB-C PD, so just make sure you use the charger that comes in the box or just a regular 5V adapter.
@@aaronpk My only concern continually charging it this way is that it will cause the internal battery to lose it's charge over time due to continual charging. It would have been much better if they had an external battery instead of an internal one.
Yeah I'm not totally sure. But I suspect it's because the Mini doesn't have any multicam support so it's less work for it to run at 60fps compared to the Pro which would have to run multiple video feeds and mix them at twice the frame rate so it would require more CPU
Hi Aaron, I am not able to get the USB-C web cam out show up in OBS on Mac mini. Any ideas or suggestions? Do you know if it works on OSX or Windows only?
Yeah! You can add images to the SD card and load them in as custom overlays. The images can even have transparent backgrounds so you can do real custom stuff
Nice work Aaron! One of thing I will like to see back on the yolobox is the recording bitrate adjustments. Thanks yolobox for a great device, and you Aaron for very informative videos.
Hi Aaron, thank you for you videos. Also i have 2 questions. 1) Do i have to make scenes each time i open the Yolobox or it's ready from the previous live? and 2) how many scenes do i have to make? only 6? i need more than 8-10, is that possible? Also i have 2 videos for my advertisements, can i play them? Thank you so much for your help.... George
Having issues with loading videos into the box. Do you know of a file size limit, or video length at all. Yololiv to be honest are completely useless with trying to get this information. They couldn't tell me for some reason. TIA

I had to sell the yolobox because the video/picture quality was really bad . Question tho For churches A you able able to had song lyrics and scripture while your live ?? If so can you do a tutorial about it ?? If not can you ask yolo live team to consider that ?? and also fix the video picture quality ?? Otherwise good job
Correct, right now the Pro can do 30fps, but the new Mini can do 60fps. The big difference is the Mini can stream only one camera at a time right now, no switching. You can use something like the ATEM Mini to add more cameras to the Yolobox Mini tho
Q: I have a BM studio cam running to our ATEM MINI ISO. When I run the camera to our Yolobox Pro and its output to the ATEM, the video from the camera gets choppy. Any suggestions? I am running a rather long HDMI cable from the camera to the ATEM. But, the choppy video only happens when I add the YB into the feed with a short cable to the ATEM.
You're seeing the choppy video in the ATEM's output? And one other thing to confirm to rule out the camera would be to check if other cameras have the same choppy video
@@aaronpk …. So, I inserted a BM bi-directional SDI/HDMI 12g between the camera and ATEM MINI ISO Ext. The jitter is gone. We have long ribs in our studio. So…one down. But…I was hoping to send the camera out to my Yolobox and then back to the Extreme. However, the BM converters don’t seem to work with the YB. I get nothing on the output of the YB. So, for now, BM Studio Cam to the Extreme and YB to the extreme using an optic hdmi cable. BTW, if I run the BM Studio Cam with the converters to the YB, and the YB back to the Extreme with through the optic cable, the jitter is crazy bad. That’s why I was hoping to use the BM converters.
Great tutorial with the YoloBox. I have never seen anybody actually use the sim card slot to connect to the internet. this feature would be the way I would connect to livestream in a remote setting. I have read reviews that had problems with using the sim card slot. I wish you had used it in a real time setting. It is the reason I am on the fence about purchasing a YoloBox. Thanks

@@aaronpk when I used OBS with ATEM Mini occasionally the audio would get out of sync. It was like an old Kung Fu movie where the lips and audio were not in sync. Great overview! I am considering this unit now. Quick question, the Atem Mini Pro offers an autoswitch option which is incredibly handy. How does the Yolobox compare? Does it offer this option too? Thanks for reading. 😁
The ATEM Mini doesn't have auto-switching exactly, but it does have the ability to create macros which you can sort of use for auto-switching. I talked about this in an old video here: ua-cam.com/video/aIILx2zalz0/v-deo.html There's also the MixEffect app which can do actually smart auto-switching based on volume level of different inputs, which is super cool. Unfortunately the YoloBox doesn't currently have auto-switching built in, and also doesn't offer any options for external control that would let you add it with other software like you can with the ATEM Mini. I am hoping they will add some ability to control it externally, or even add an auto-switching feature natively in the future!
Thanks, Aaron, I am a video and audio podcaster. Check out my more than 500 episodes. I want to replace my PC and OBS Studio. Will your Pro or Ultra allow multiple Microphones (XLR)? I know it will do multiple cameras. Will it record each audio and video input in individual files?
