The slow box opening I love, watching the box drop, busted out laughing 🌺 Thank you for this detailed video!
OH. MY. GOD. Joseph, that pause you did with the remote to do the advertising bit made me jump, literally! That was by far the best "interruption" for advertising I've ever seen. Bravo Sir!
hahah thanks man. I had a lot of fun doing it!
Bruh! (homeboys phrase for "BRO", A derivative of (" My Brother" ) Your presentation is SO simple, well constructed, and easy to follow and understand, I MUST suggest your channel to all my contacts/friends! You stand out among the plethora of self-described "gurus" of tech that I simply HAVE to endorse your channel! Please keep up the good grind!
Thank you!!
Finally PhotoJoseph!! The narrative and production quality is unprecedented! NOW I have my new favorite Yolo review video!! Thank you!!
Haha thanks man. Glad you like it. Now let’s get it some VIEWS!!
This is EASILY the best video that I have seen on this product!
Thanks so much Joseph for putting this together! It must have taken you ages!
(The remote/ pause thing was hilarious!)
Thank you Joseph for this truly EPIC tutorial video!! Appreciate all the length and details that you have gone!! Great presentation and demonstration plus all the nice feature suggestsions and small bugs/improvement report!! Audio mixing should come very soon (Today/Saturday, our engineering team are in the office working on that!!) and re-using project setting is now a very high priority!!And many more to come!! Thanks again!!
Thanks YoloLiv! That’s great to hear!
Can the device now be powered from the USB-C and not just charged? I am thinking of using this for long-form events where even a 4 hour battery might not be enough. Also does the SIM card support North American networks?
Hall yolo live, get me one here in Kenya I do it on my channel and other platforms in our language Swahili and local language.
Am journalist best in kenya
This comment just convinced me to order this. Thanks.
I would like to see improvement on the recorded video quality in SD card
Great video! I was an early adopter of YoloBox, then bought the YoloBox Pro immediately the time it was launched. It's very portable and perfect for just about any multi-camera live productions. Definitely a game-changer.
Nice!!
I love your videos. This was a great tour of the product, with very useful insight in to the pros and cons of using this kit. Couldn't quite believe how much it does. Thank you and I'm glad I watched to the end! Please keep doing what you do.
Thank you Adam, that’s very kind of you to say!
Hey Joseph! I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again. You are a great presenter. You speak clearly, smoothly and with confidence. I don't own this device yet, but I do enjoy the way you present products. This is a very informative, full featured demo. Just like your GH5 training videos (which have been awesome and helpful), this is very easy to watch and follow along. As always, thank you for the well produced content! This device looks to be a nearly perfect, full feature, mid-range budget (>$5000) streaming device. The File size limit may be due to the way the SD card is formatted. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB.
Hey man! Thanks for that, I really appreciate that. Super nice of you to say. And Yolo got back about the file size limit and said it's an Android thing but I think you might be right.
That's exactly all the knowledge I was looking for. Thank you so much, for such a comprehensive tutorial. Your are great!!
Thanks Larry, I’m happy to hear that and thanks for the complement!!
Great video. Very informative. I've had my YoloBox for about a month (LOVE IT!) and your video filled in a few blanks/questions I've had since then. Thanks Joseph!
Sweet!
This is an amazingly well developed and thorough video. I just got a Yolobox Pro for work and cannot imagine a question this did not answer. Bookmark this one for sure. Thanks.
Wow that’s awesome Brendon, thanks. All the bookmarks in here should definitely help when you need to figure something out!!
Very great video 💪, tq sir
Thank you, Abu!
You sir are incredible at these videos. Clear, concise, perfectly stated. Great angles, perfect editing. Sounds excellent too.
Wow, thanks!
OMG, that was a great video! Thank you! Never has anyone taken the time to explain something technical in such a clear, concise way, and in less than an hour. Exceptional work. This is the first video of yours I've ever watched, but you are my new favorite. Thank you!
Well THANK you! That’s up there with the best comments ever 😊
@@photojoseph ...and I bought the YoloBox Pro 100% based on your review.
@@MikeSlatton1 and I thank you again!
What is this prise sir ?
Thanks Joseph. Great overview. I would love to see an option to flip/mirror input videos. Other video switchers have this option and would cool to see it hear too. But otherwise it seems to be a very flexible tool!
Send that request to Yolo! Seriously, they are very responsive.
Brilliant review - so clear and in-depth! Looking forward to the comparing video before I finally buy one!
Thanks! And I’m working on that one ;-)
Great "tour"!! Looking forward to a Yolo-ATEM comparison video from PhotoJoseph!!
Coming up next!!
This is by far the BEST "COMPLETE Tour" video I've come across. Thank you, Joseph.
Thank you!
Awesome presentation; thank you!!
one of the most complete video I've seen of the yolobox pro 😁 thanks
Thanks mate. It was a long time coming.
Wow!!!. Fantastic 👌🏽
one of the best review of the yolo box. Thx!
Thanks so much for the video. I’m a teacher and I’ve been using the atem pro with my online classes but I saw so many things I can do with this device so I bought one. Truthfully I’m so intimidated by the software on the atem. Have you used the Yolobox with Google meet or zoom? I’ve been kind of waiting for your comparison video, but I guess I’ll just ask you. I’m really hoping to be able to save the settings too. Also, will I be able to use the usbc out to my M1 Mac like I did on the atem. What about monitor mode? Really thanks again for your straightforward video.
Hello! I have the yolobox pro recently, and I try to add "web url overlays" of streamelements to see the interactions of my subscribers (donations for example, comments redeemed, etc,).
I try to add to the url, but nothing happens, you know what happens?
It probably needs to be scaled to be seen. This whole implementation needs some work, at least last I used it.
wow its a great video presentation thank you sir joseph...
You are a freaking perfectionist … so organized, so detailed, so knowledgeable - in content and setup …. Subscribed
Thank you! I really appreciate that.
I've been watching various videos on this device ranging from being released only a month ago to a year ago and it's amazing how quickly the videos get outdated because of how many updates yolobox does for the device. Just a year ago, I think they were on version 1 of the software and now they are at version 3.something. It's not that often you see a UA-cam creator say "they should add...." 10 months ago and watch a video that's only a month old and that feature has been added. It's refreshing seeing a company actually listen to their customer base and quickly add requests features to their product.
That’s awesome, and they truly do! Glad you’re enjoying the content.
YoloBox Pro 전체 투어 영상 잘 봅니다. 설명도 넘 좋아요. 사용하는데 많은 도움이 되겠습니다.^^
Good on you mate! Subscribed. And We'll be starting our new show with the YOLO very soon Nice Work! Very informative
loved the pause call out!
Haha thanks. It came out pretty good! I figure if I’m going to ask people for money I should make it fun 🤩- don’t forget, ua-cam.com/users/PhotoJosephjoin !! 😁😁
Great walk-through! I have used YoloBox Pro for multiple occasions and the ease of use always amaze me. I use it with 3 Canon 90 D's and the quality is fantastic. For sure a great streaming system for big and small events.
Nice to hear you love it! Did I miss anything in this tour?
@@photojoseph Everything covered! Very comprehensive! Thanks man!
Multi camera can be wireless
Merci beaucoup !
@PhotoJospeph: Nice video! Some answers to your questions/problems: 3,5GB limitation seems to be a FAT32 file system limitation on the SD Card, with ExFat this should not be necessary. And the Blackmagic and Atomos recorders HDMI not working with it, seems likely to be caused by the fact that those devices dont just use the normal HDMI specs, but use their proprietary data encoding (they could not support RAW video formats from camera to video monitor/recorder; Also the reason Sony/Panasonic/Etc. and Atomos/Blackmagic need to manually support each new device for them to work together). A TV/PC monitor just uses the normal HDMI specs and data stream encoding.
That makes a whole lot of sense!!
@@photojoseph I would need to add that i am not 100% sure, as i dont have the devices in question to confirm this myself, so dont quote me on that alone ;) But as far as i can tell without testing it myself, both theories seem very likely. Glad i could help and give at least something back for all the amazing content you do! Great holidays to you and your family!
Great video very informative!!❤
good tutorial, will have to buy one soon, thanks
Glad it was helpful! Let us know if you get one Walter, and how you like it!
That was a cool effect Future Joseph!
haha thanks!!
Amazing! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
😊
I was convinced that the Teradek Wave Streaming Monitor was the choice for me, but this Yolo Box is waaaaaay better.
Good Job Joseph. Thanks for all the info.
Thanks for watching!
Great info, very well presented!
Thank you, Noel!
LEGEND!!!!!!! THANKS!
You’re welcome
So nice
Great video. I have a couple of ATEM switchers that I use. The Yolobox pro looks like it would work really well with the Mini Pro. You could probably feed the Mini Pro into the Yolobox. It looks like the Yolobox makes lower thirds, chroma key, and video clips much easier than the Mini Pro.
You got it Shawn, that's a great way to combine the devices for sure
I've done just that ands it works beautifully! Four ATEM inputs and take them webcam out to the Yolobox USB input and you still have 3 additional HDMI inputs on the Yolobox!
...plus eliminates having to have mobile power (and extra space) for the atem and for an external monitor when doing on location Livestreams and/or recordings
How did you feed the Yolobox into the ATEM?
I need a yolobox in my life. Thanks
Can you connect the Accsoon wireless video transmitters to it? So have four wireless transmitters plug in that I can vision mix?
You said you didn't know what to do with monitor mode. I use it to record (using "rec" option) w/ overlays when there is no internet connection. I can then upload to youtube later once I have a connection. Also, the SD card management shows you recordings you've done so you can delete as needed and free up SD card space.
Super helpful! Thank you for your work on this and other videos here on the ‘Tube (I shoot Lumix and your guides were 👨🍳 💋). May need something like this in the not to distant future, but that audio-mixing capability (or lack thereof) needs to be revised; and it sounds like it is? I’ll be watching this group. Be well Jo.
Yep, they are actively developing for it now. And it'll come via a free firmware update!
Best video on the product by far! Are you able to do this same video for the Yolobox Ultra?
I will!
Perfect Joseph
Thank you!
and I'm here trying to figure out how you got such a clean feed of the Yolobox UI. Your editing is great
Thank you kindly. UI is captured from HDMI out to a recorder.
Thank you.
I am about to purchase this product.
This video gives me lots of ideas.
Awesome!
Finally, I ordered it and it will be delivered tomorrow.
Ming! Omg... Flash Gordon was my favorite movie.
Haha
That short break in transmission for the disclaimer and personal ad is soooooo cool. Hope you get to teach how it was done 🙂👍🏿
haha thanks Anthony! It was fun to figure out ;-)
likely an effect done with fusion in davinci resolve. It alternatively could be done in the Davinci Resolve color tab with a layer node and the magic mask. Or a PNG cut out from a video still then overlayed on the edit page.
@@gibblsworthiscool you were right the first time. Basically… freeze frame, simple comp of two layers of video, careful mask around the “frozen” me, layered with an video of static, also masked around the frozen me. The light effect on the remote is the lens flare fx. I tried different ways of doing the static on me that were much more involved and not working as expected, so I backed up and simplified to what you see here.
I’m with Anthony. Thank you in advance for teaching us how to do that. 😉😉
Ok Mr. Joseph if you haven't already done so, you have to show us how you did that little bit of movie magic with the future PhotoJoseph pausing the video! That was amazing!!😀😀
Haha thanks. It’s just a freeze frame and two layers of video, and some filters to give the “paused” look.
THANKS 👍
🤗
Amazing class…thank you so much. I have a question for you. I am working currently with a small budget and I am hesitating between Yolo an ATEM. I want to be able to stream on Mixcloud as Dj and make a live show. I want to be able to stream there with no issues and create on the spot something interesting and dynamic. I want to be able to record and stream. I have DSLR camera Canon and Webcam. I am a MAC user. To stream directly my Dj performance with these two camera device on Mixcloud which one is the best tool for me? Keep in mind that I must blug my mixer directly so that people could here my performance. (Sound) btw I am insisting on streaming only on Mixcloud because the pay all royalties to the artists. It is less hassle for me and I dislike the other platforms. Do you have any suggestions…please
Well, the webcam ties you to the yolobox as there’s no way to connect a webcam to the ATEM. I would have said ATEM wins for audio, however Yolo added an audio mixer in December that I haven’t played with yet. So it might be just as good. The Yolo is probably the better choice because of its portability. You need the Pro for the advanced audio features and line-level input. Those are my thoughts. FYI if you join the channel as a member you will have access to a private Discord server which could be a good place to ask questions and discuss this with others, and of course you’ll be helping support the channel! Details at UA-cam.com/PhotoJoseph/join
That audio control is a Killer at the price point - they need soft transitions and mixes
Your video is priceless! Thank you! Which microphone do you use exactly in this video? I went through your homepage only to see that you suggest many microphones (sennheiser, etc.)
I use a Sennheiser AVX wireless. This video has the included microphone, but I’ve since upgraded to a direction lav, the Sennheiser MKE104S-EW Cardioid Lavalier on the AVX. It runs into a mix Pre 3 running the NoiseAssist plugin. This is all because my environment is quite noisy.
The HDMI output compatibility sounds like a HDCP issue as the devices listed that aren't working are ones that have recording ability. The problem here is Yololiv probably can't legally disable any content protection on the output, very frustrating for those of use using it for legitimate purposes.
Fantastic tutorial I feel as a amateur I fully understand the capabilities, as I don’t want to do live streaming is there a 4k alternative I can purchase thanks
No, but if you’re not live streaming then there’s no point in buying this
Question. I just ordered the Yolo pro for doing podcast interviews in my barbershop but have 4 cameras and 2 mikes have they upgraded the audio issues yet?
Yeah, a long time ago - this video is quite old now. Check out their blog for what each update has!
I was going to get an ATEM Mini Pro ISO but the YoloBox Pro is coming up as a strong alternative. Anyway I have subscribed!
If you’re not in a rush, wait for my comparison video!
@@photojoseph yes I'm in no rush so I can wait for the next video to come out, thank you!
I'm doing an event in mid-March. Awaiting the comparison, so I can decide which to get. So far, I'm still leaning towards the ATEM Extreme ISO.
Can you connect a mixer to the Yolobox via a USB interface like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to get stereo audio into the device?
26:35 an external mixer can be as simply as my micro mixer which is 4 x 3.5mm input jacks with a 3.5mm output and little volume knobs for faders. The whole things is the size of a credit card and is powered by a little micro usb port.
Merci
Are you able to connect 4 wireless mics and controll them independently??
Did they get the audio upgrade mixer honed since this vid? or should I use my old trustworthy Rodecaster?
It’s been upgraded many times since this video. It’s worth trying for sure.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Which is better to use for livestreaming the yolobox pro or a pc?
Hello, Joseph. Three questions on Yolo. 1. If I scheduled some translations in UA-cam studio, can I see that list of scheduled translations on Yolo so I can choose the translation that I want to start right now? 2. Is the a possibility to make an instant replay, as in OBS? For example, a goal in football game. 3. Is there a possibility to reconstruct the score table for another sports, like volleyball, tennis and so on? Thanks in advance! And thank you very much for the great video!
@PhotoJoseph ...After scratching our heads and looking for an upgrade for the aging ATEM Mini Pro, we bought the YoloBox Pro 100% based on your review, and anxiously awaiting delivery Friday. Can this box (like the ATEM Mini) be used with OBS? We would like to sometime still stream from the computer with OBS and easily make the transition over to using solely the Yolobox Pro? Thanks for the awsome job!
Nice! Yeah totally, go HDMI out to to an HDMI to USB converter, _or_ I think they are about to release an update to add webcam mode, so that’d help too!
Parabéns, como é feito a transmissão na vertical para o instagram com o yelobox
is there a way to link a scheduled video from youtube to yolo box pro
Great video! Thank you so much! I'm curious about the setup and stand you mounted the yolobox on. Do you have links to purchase those?
I built that stand. However if you want something awesome, look at these: geni.us/PK1tv
@@photojoseph Awesome! Thank you much!
Can you show two cameras at once? Such as have one camera fixed on a scoreboard putting that on the bottom corner of the screen?
Great Product there, I will buy this, the moment we can input powerpoint inside the show. With animation instead of pdf. Also the green screen can it be a loop animation?
I wouldn’t expect native PowerPoint support; can a PowerPoint player run on Android? Connect a laptop or computer playing PowerPoint as one of the inputs. And I think you can key off a video playing from the SD but I haven’t tried!
Hi Joseph! Nice review! 🙂 would also like to know if streamyard works with yolobox pro?
If you can set StreamYard to use a custom RTMP then sure.
Great video best review 👏 👌 👍
One question can we go live on tiktok using this device
No, but they make one specifically for TikTok. Very very indifferent product. Aaron showed it live from NAB here: ua-cam.com/video/qdpO4-P_ZDk/v-deo.html
Hey Joseph, you say that after creating an "Unlisted" event, I should be able to see it in my YT Studio and be able to edit the description, thumbnail etc. I just did exactly that and I don't see the event over on my YT Studio page. Should it really be working this way? Thanks a lot.
If that’s what I said then yes, it should. Make sure you’re logged into the same account and that the event was successfully created on the yolobox. You’d be surprised at how many people have multiple google accounts and don’t realize they’re logged into different ones on different devices!
LOL! These videos are sick good! I literally sit here like a zombie staring at this video just soaking in the info. (No, not your eyes…but those are eyes are damn! My wife agrees!) Would like to ask what audio setup do you have. I’m going to be starting a channel on Crypto - I’ll be using a Rode Podmic but was wondering if I needed to go with rodecast pro with a cloudlifter and then send it to the YOLO --or- cloudlifter and a SOLO then send it to YOLO? Any feedback would be great. Great channel, brother!
Haha thank you… me and my eyes appreciate it 😊 My audio is a Sennheiser AVX mic, run through a Mix Pre 3 with the Noise Assist plugin, but that’s only because there’s a rack nearby that I have to cancel out. Minimal EQ in post. Good luck with the channel! And if you want to talk about audio with more people, consider joining the channel as a member where you will have access to a private Discord server which could be a good place to ask questions, and of course you’ll be helping support the channel! Details at UA-cam.com/PhotoJoseph/join
37:00 i notice that the dji drones also have this 3.5gb file size limit. It might be that they cater to the lowest common denominator of file system format like FAT32.
Thanks Joseph for the video is there a way to set the comments like a preset so you don’t have to redo it for every new live for example like how the overlays are done you don’t have to keep redoing it thanks any help would be appreciated
You can duplicate a previous event
Could you possibly do a video on the yololiv Yolobox ultra?
Very educative waaw. now i can use my yolo box pro. And whats the full meaning of 'YOLO'
Great! And “YOLO” means “You Only Live Once” but I don’t actually know if that’s what the company meant by this 😅
Hi Joseph
Thanks for the great video really appreciate your in-depth explanations and tutorial
Especially about not being able to connect an atomos ninja recoder that was driving me crazy the reason it was not getting a signal. I did send an email request to yololive as you suggested. Do you happen to know what the priority is for that feature on their end please? Thanks
They are constantly improving; that’s not so much a feature to add as it is an anomaly to find a solution to. It used to not work with ATEM either but they figured that one out. Maybe it has to do with the chip or hdmi hardware they’re using. I don’t know but I’m glad you contacted them.
This version doesn't have the audio out jack like the older version. Why would they remove it.
Just bought Elgato facecam and nothing happens when plugged on the Yolobox pro. It works pretty well on the mac though, any help?
Never tried one. You should ask YoloLiv.
Where did you purchase the base for the Yolo. Can you please provide a link. Thanks!! Also great video.
I built that, sorry. It’s just painted wood and a small ball head
How does it attach to the wood? Countersink and glue it? Can you take a pic?
@@DCAFlyBoy just a hole and a ⅜-16 bolt through it to attach to the ball head. The stand is raised off the table with little rubber feet. Can’t post a photo here but it’s very simple.
Great video.
One thing that would put this unit over the top would be having a NDI feature.
That would be cool. Suggest it!
@@photojoseph So I did. and how cool would it be to be able to remotely interview someone from a distance land over NDI.
Thanks for the reply. and again great video.
@@MessianicJudaism you can use two YoloBoxes to send a signal from one to another. Unclear if it’s possible to do a two-way interview. I actually should try that.
@@photojoseph If it works, I'll buy two of them. However, YoloBox has a lot on their plate. They're fixing the audio issues, and creating new features that many have suggested. One thing I just now thought of is a XLR break-out box for the audio that will attach to the unit. Battery powered for Phantom power or some sort of a connection to take phantom power from the unit YoloBox itself. I think they built something that can expand into something far beyond awesome.
I mean, I worked a lot with NewTek's TriCaster systems and this little unit has me blown away so far with it's capabilities, and demographic ease ability.
Can you imagine in the not so distance future having 3 or 4 of these little boxes with NDI and syncing up with each other to produce a live show. That would be out of this world.
What kind of electric brick should I buy for the Yolo Pro. I bought two for my older-right out of the gate Yolos a few years ago and they did not work. So we've been using our computers. Any advice would be helpful. Also, did you construct your YoloPro Base stand? Thanks in advance and great video!

Thanks for the review of an interesting gadget. Is it possible to get around the problem of limiting 6 video sources? If I connect 3 cameras, then only 3 sources remain for additional angles and video materials. This is not enough. Is there any solution?
Route an ATEM Mini Extreme into one of the HDMI ports!
Was your SD card formatted in fat32? If so, that would be the reason for the video record limit. I've run into that problem even just loading files onto a card or thumb drive. I had to reformat to exfat to get the card (or drive) to even accept the file...
Yolo said it was an Android limitation, so… 🤷
@@photojoseph The 4gb limit with fat32 is tied to the number limitations within a 32bit OS and everything therein. Android as an OS BEGAN 64bit compatibility back in 2011 with Android 5.0. In 2019 in fact Google began a REQUIREMENT that all apps on their play store be compatible with 64bit cpu's. As such, while fat32 is specifically a format designed for a 32bit OS, the limitation is in the fat32 format and not in Android as an operating system. Yolo does actually list "continuous recording" as one of the things they're working on bringing. If the OS itself could not support it, they wouldn't bother working on it. I think someone over there might have just given you an excuse to try to pacify you for the moment... hopefully that improvement will come sooner rather than later. : )
Thank you Joseph for the great content.
The color is off coming from my camera and stream to you tube. Do you know if it is possible to color correct the streamed video? Thank you
no, you need to color correct the camera. If what you're seeing in the camera is different than what's hitting youtube, then there's something else wrong.
Congratulations. If you know and can make information about live vertically for instagra, tic tok, etc and the monitor output also vertically, and instruction on RTMP that you must ask for authorization, is it really free, since the platform has a free plan only 14 days for testing then it was difficult.
you can’t do vertical video from the yolobox at this time
Hello,
How would you bind three cell phones to the yolobox for remote streaming?
You need to use a service or box for that. The term you’re looking for is “bonding”. Teradek makes an expensive hardware solutions, among others.
Does YOLOBOX have a scaler? Can I plug in different resolutions and it will see them? Or do I have to set every imput to the same resolution?
Yes scaler built-in!
Great video, thanks :). Has anyone figure out how to do replays on the yolobox pro?. I stream soccer games and I want to be able to replay the goals, so the last 10 seconds everytime someone scores. Thanks in advance.
We need to be able to get more fonts, scoreboard for different sports, timer count down minutes and seconds control not just minute, a mode to see other video source without the delay on non active videos.
For the scoreboard features, tell them! Like I said in the video - they are responsive. But you have to ask them directly about it. As to the delay; I wouldn't expect that to change without a hardware upgrade. That's processing power and while the Pro is more powerful than the original, once you get a lot of sources in there, some lag does appear.
