- Well everyone here it is! Our Indy 500 post race show is a great one and I hope you all enjoy it as well. I tried to be as honest as possible and give out every bit of information I picked up on during the race. Some wild stories from things we had to deal with to things I saw! We also chat with the winner, the back to back Indy 500 champion Josef Newgarden from Team Penske. As always let us know what you think of the show and what you thought of the race overall as well! Huge ratings to talk about as well in this episode thankfully!

I mean I asked him about people shouting boos at him so there’s only so much you can do sorry dude. We only had 20 minutes. I care more about talking about the race to be honest

@@ConorDaly22I’ve been a fan of Michael Cannon since he won 5 races with Dinger in 2005 I think it was. I was at Indy in 2017 and got to chat with MC quite a while. Chatting with you Conor when you were outside the AJ garage chillin.

Hear me out, Josef is in the unique spot to lean into the villain roll. It's not necessarily the Penske way but IndyCar needs anti heroes (sit down Santino). I heard tons of people who were for Joe last Indy that were actively cheering against him this year. Just a thought. You had one heck of a race from the team and driver standpoint, shame that shock decided it was a 100 mile version.
My husband and I are already looking forward to Detroit but sorry Conor won't be in it. Great show, but in spite of having Chase make a note, the details surrounding getting Jeff Gordon (the NASCAR champ) to sign Conor's shoes didn't make the cut. Oops. The Indy 500 itself was a great race, and now that I've got the app on my Android phone, I was able to follow Conor's scanner. His struggle with the headrest didn't sound as dramatic in real time, but it was still obvious he was seriously multi-tasking. Here's some advice from and old lady: Conor, even if you can't get a sunscreen to sponsor you (and they're missing a bet if they don't) make sure to slather yourself with the stuff at all times, especially when you're outdoors.
That is because we could not say everything on the radio or they would have made us pit. I was able to do what I could.

Conor had a great car and a hell of a drive. Rollercoaster of emotions the entire race. Really a shame we can’t get another full time hoosier team with a native. Indycar needs more native flu and dreyer and reinbold should be able to be a full time team

That was my favorite 500 since TK won. Turn 3 was definitely pulling for Pato and Conor, but one of the cool things about the 500 is how supportive it is. Feels like 90% of the crowd roots for everyone.

So a drag racer was in the 64 Indy 500. Maybe Brittany Force can go for it too. 😁

@@ConorDaly22 Danny"On-the-gas" Ongais was a very successful drag racer. He started on bikes, then sports cars in Hawaii where he was born. Moved to So-Cal and started drag racing moving up to top fuel quickly. Did a little desert racing, and decided to give the 500 a shot. Don't remember how many he did, but remember the "Flyin Hawaiian" was fun to watch. He ran in Champ car, Indycar, and even a handful of F1 starts. He had quite the career.
My magic moment was around 7am, it was still really quiet. I found the team Penske merch trailer over by the haulers, and was devastated to hear they sold out of the Rick Mears (Mclaughlin) replica jersey. The lady working down the counter whispered that they had the display left in medium out back. I got the last one at the track! Then the most amazing 500 I can remember with Conor leading laps. Awesome day

Conor- Why did they take the fender off the rear wheels in 2018? I thought it was to help keep the cars from catapulting off each other.

The “Kardashians” tended to get damaged easily. Then they fell off, leaving a big chunk of debris on the track. That wasn’t safe, so they had to go.

Manufacturers also didn’t enjoy how much they were spending on aero development. It was a combo of things really

I had a cheater yelling dude next to me...driver intros...CHEATER....Roger intro....CHEATER....25 laps into the race he left and never returned...thank god.

Great show Conor & Chase! I cheered for Newgarden last year, but not this one. In stand A the Indy faithful were pulling for Dixon/ Rossi/ Pato/ and of course the pride of Noblesville. What a long day, but the race made up for having to get drunk twice! I like your stuff, you talk like one of the guys. Good Luck Conor, I will be looking for you

Great drive! Biggest mover, lets go! Appreciate the payout structure breakdown. Full season running compared to one off is insanely different! Idk about that gap. You guys put in the same amount of work or more for the Indy 500.

Conor, saw your dad race at the 500 in the late 80's when I was a kid. Been going now since 2017 but had to miss it in person this year. Great race and congrats on the top 10 finish. This was a great podcast. Lot of interesting play by play facts that really shows how intense the race is.

Was at first ever Indy 500 with daughter thanks to my brother. Stopped by garage and saw you there but chicken out to say hi due to wearing enemy colors 😜 great interview with Josef and great 1st time 500 to attend. Was rooting for you and the smaller teams more and I suppose Rossi and McMissle I suppose

This was my 48th STRAIGHT Indianapolis 500 and watching all of the pre race stuff still moves me to tears! If it doesn't then you're not human! Oh and the flyovers are AWESOME!

It was my 64th 500, all since 1960! this was a great race and Josef Newgarden was great. that outside pass going into turn 3 was stunning!! grow up Newgarden is the man!!!
Yes that was a CRAZY move and I'm sure that you will agree with me that Pato will win the INDIANAPOLIS 500 and if Conor can get with an elite team he will win races along with the INDIANAPOLIS 500! Oh and this was my 48th STRAIGHT Indianapolis 500!

Such a great race. I was at the beach all day so it was fine with me that it got delayed so I could watch at my leisure later on. I wanted Pato or Rossi to bring it home but I respect Josef for his competitive nature and willingness to send it for the win at all costs. Looking forward to the rest of the season, the diversity of Indycar tracks is just the best.
