What's with the large 8D8 in the back in a larger scale? Is that the size they would originally work the mini-figures in before they scaled them down to the 3 & 3/4 size or something?
That sculpture from the Hildebrandt poster..which for me...IS Star Wars...its how it was marketed to us as kids...even if this never happened in the movie...and they dont even look all that much like Luke and Leia...its got that old school Hollywood Adventure look about it.... Its one of only three wall hangings Ive kept...I have a signed, personalized Sean Young poster from Blade Runner, a poster from the Tamara DeLemicka art exhibit from Kobe, and that Hildebrandt.
Great video. I recent Bought a kenner Dianoga trash monster Green and small on an afa graded acryllic case and i noticed that it is rare and a great piece to collect and have.
I love the look on Norm's face when the Star Wars Holiday special is mentioned. I have a copy of it here and every few years I try to watch it.. It is so bad it is hilarious but I rarely make it all the way through..
Did anyone else notice that tall (I assume 12 inch) 8D8 torture droid? I wonder if that's a prototype for POTF2 that was never made - would have been cool to have a tall 8D8 and EV-9D9 together, you can't have one without the other.
I think it was in 1978 I was able to pick up and operate a hand crank Star Wars Cinematograph (spelling) that featured almost the entire Tie fighter battle. I never saw it anywhere else or after. Does anyone else remember this?
I want to begin a star wars collection, but not including items with faces, because the rarely look like the actor. I'm not necessarily thinking that I want these items to make a million dollars in 20 years, it's just fun, but I don't want to buy items that 80% of the world has. can you give me advice? does it make any sense to collect only r2d2 merchandise ,or vader merchandise ? or only bad guys ?see my idea help me please
I know this is an older comment, but the Japanese figures by companies like Bandai and the S.H. Figure Arts line do a better job of looking like the actor's likeness, just check out the S.H. Figure Arts Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. If you want to get really spendy, Hot Toys out of Hong Kong do beautiful head sculpts that look exactly like the actors in the films.
I’m interested in how they gloss over the reason why the missile-firing Boba Fett was cancelled: several kids choked on the missile-firing “Viper” from the original “Battlestar Galactica” toys and ended up dying, and that’s why the “choke tube” standard mentioned was put into place - so that no projectile too thick to become wedged into a Child’s Throat.
Those cinema cut's couldn't actually sold as toys from a company like kenner since they mostly produced toys at the time i imagine.Still statues like those are mostly for adult collectors and display purposes rather toys.
they were scared of kids swallowing the spring loaded rocket, i remember in the early 90's having action men toys with all sorts of little things far smaller and potentialy more harmful
I'd just turn the mic over to Steve and let him handle the complete tour. Hardly any questions needed. Other than "Anything Master Luminara I *HAVEN'T* yet seen?!?" LOL
Strange, other people think he's too shy ... Apparently people can't make their mind up. Seriously, he's a little awkward, but a lot of geeks are. That's what makes us lovable!
I'd like to think there is an outtake of the younger guy. He's reaching over to the cabinet saying "Is it okay if I just pick" Older guy: "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THAT! I WILL TOTALLY BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH A LADLE AND DUMP YOUR BODY IN A RIVER! NEVER TOUCH THE GOODS!"
I WONDER IF STEVE SANSWEET HAS A WANTS LIST. I HAVE INCREDIBLY RARE, MINT, CAST AND CREW ITEMS FROM THE FIRST ORIGINAL THREE FILMS... IN THE ORIGINAL BOXES. I HAVE FOUR DIFFERENT LUCITE STARS. ALL ARE MINT AND UNCIRCULATED. BASICALLY MINE IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF LUCITE STARS. I HAVE LOTS OF RARE STAR WARS CREW ITEMS. I WILLING TO SELL THEM.
Right.... that's a weird one, it's to do with Droids.. I was thinking actual Star Wars toys, I don't really consider Droids and the Ewoks cartoon to be canon.... I know it technically is though. Do you know what I mean? It is interesting to read about that character and how rare the figure is though. And the second name is a tribute to how rare he is, I just read... Oncard... since he is most valuable "on card". Thanks for the reply!
I don't like THAT Boba Fett prototype. That one's too close to the production model. I like the one on the mailaway sticker, that used 3PO, Stormtrooper and Shogun Warriors launcher parts. This one's practically the one that hit shelves.
0:45 The look when the holiday special is mentioned
The thumbnail is a bit clickbaity; I was looking forward to seeing a colored version of the 40th anniversary statue.
That glance at the camera at Sansweet's mention of the Holiday Special, though!!
Will Kenner ever make the Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru charred remains figures?
Daniel Longcore Can you get them back in the package?
+Thomas Korn Well, Kenner was eventually bought out by Hasbro, so we'll have to ask THEM...
Dammit! The red tape trail will never end!
+Thomas Korn I have a couple of custom carded versions of Aunt Beru/Uncle Owen charred remains if your interested?
there's a cool tutorial on instructables!
Just from watching I have a feeling that Steve is like the sorta guy who you'll never meet but feel like your best buds he's that cool of a guy
Norm would've been awesome in The Office, he makes simple interviews awkward as f**k.
I swear, everytime i look at the Tested "T," all i can see is a mandalorian!!!
omg 😂
thanx now i cant get that out of my head👍
6:45 Is that a George Lucas hand puppet next to the gold Vader bust at the bottom?
Glasses&Mouthplates YAS INDEED.
Saw Steve at Star wars weekends, lucky man to have access to all these toys!
What's with the large 8D8 in the back in a larger scale?
Is that the size they would originally work the mini-figures in before they scaled them down to the 3 & 3/4 size or something?
i could watch this for hours. wish it was longer. more content
my god....what a collection!
I am soooooo jealous
With Norm's arms always at a 90 degree angle, he would make a great C3P0!
Steve's got the greatest collection of all times.
@ 0:10, I got one of those letters and I was one unhappy little consumer.
Gotta luv these guys, big thumbs up, I'm a big Star Wars fan but didn't know about some of this stuff, awesome!
He's missing the poncho & belt on the endor luke!! Also he & the deathstar gunner came with a commemorative coin didn't see those either.
The Boba Fett figure with the shooting rocket was actually sent out. I used to have two of them.
Awesome stairs in the background.
Lol the look gave when the holiday special is mentioned
That sculpture from the Hildebrandt poster..which for me...IS Star Wars...its how it was marketed to us as kids...even if this never happened in the movie...and they dont even look all that much like Luke and Leia...its got that old school Hollywood Adventure look about it....

and what about the Lego line, like the ships, tie fighters....or action figures?
You got to the shop in 2009 and see that strange figure from Jabbas palace, then you go back and It's still there in 2012
Rancho Obi-Wan is about 20 mins from where I live, I'll have to check it out one of these days.
Oh my gosh the Star Tots figures are so adorable. That would have been something I would have needed to have. Han was especially a cute figure!
How much for the glass case? I never. Saw it in any of the movies except the original one!!, has to be worth tens of thousands
What is your fav light saber?,anyone can answer as i would be very interested to know>
Great video.
Jeez, I had one of those Droids figures he had on display. I sold it years ago with some other Droids figures.
I'm surprised that ReAction or Gentle Giant aren't making the cancelled figures.
2:05 "Kenner" not hasbro, I'm assuming he meant. Keep rockin' Mr. Sansweet... One day I will leave So. Cal to Nor-Cal to see this amazing collection.
There were two ROTJ figures almost (but not) released, the six breasted dancer aaaaand.... we'll never know.
Norm's face at 0:49 is GOLD!
I loved the Star Wars droids animated movies. I think I still have a double-sided disk.
Been to Rancho Obiwan... it's awesome... check it out if your in San Fransisco area. Go online to book.
I actually have the Kenner rocket firing version with spring. But the spring is broken so it can’t be fire.
That Darth Vader at 6:30 looks like he's squatting to take a shit! LOL!
Why does Norm keep looking at the camera like a weirdo?
this is "colbert platinum" level nerdery:D continue!
Mr Sansweet". Do you own an Govener Tarkin action figure???? If not how much would you spend? And if so how much is he worth????
Norm has gotten a bit better, but I agree he seems indecisive in his movements.
3:45 finally...a Sise Fromm figure.
Nerdtastic!
I love the Luke and Leia from Tom Jung's poster, why didn't they produce that one? Its so Frank Frazetta. I've always loved it.
amazing when you see two odd guys together. How much they begin to be odder.
Lunchbox dealers exist???? wow
How do you jump from Asia to Cincinnati? I'm FROM Cincinnati, & I almost thought you meant someplace in Asia!
Oh my gosh - that's the ONLY way I'm going to be able to see him from now on!
Did anyone else notice that tall (I assume 12 inch) 8D8 torture droid? I wonder if that's a prototype for POTF2 that was never made - would have been cool to have a tall 8D8 and EV-9D9 together, you can't have one without the other.
Does he have the C-3PO Tape thingy?
The choke tube...Which every Lego piece would fit in...
Anyone remember the minature star wars figures and vehicals?
Song?
I think it was in 1978 I was able to pick up and operate a hand crank Star Wars Cinematograph (spelling) that featured almost the entire Tie fighter battle. I never saw it anywhere else or after. Does anyone else remember this?
This was made on my birthday!
wish i knew why this specific video froze my xbox 3 times.

Interesting love star wars

I wish I had that luke skywalker and leia statue...
3:48 it's Rey!
Those cinema cut's couldn't actually sold as toys from a company like kenner since they mostly produced toys at the time i imagine.Still statues like those are mostly for adult collectors and display purposes rather toys.
I can't help but think of the merchandising scene in Spaceballs.
What if instead of doing the rocket firing boba fett(I've seen a 6'part video about it) it was a boba fett firing rocket!
Lol as much as Norm annoys me, he's actually kinda buff lol
Great stuff this guy is so lucky
they were scared of kids swallowing the spring loaded rocket, i remember in the early 90's having action men toys with all sorts of little things far smaller and potentialy more harmful
A pull string Yoda. That's what I would buy. That right there.
I wonder what the collection value is!
I wanted Yarna and I bought the ONLY ONE I EVER FOUND in store.
So no, Sansweet doesn't speak for any consensus. :{
Really interesting. I have the Yak Face figure... I hear that's rare. anyone know what the rarest Star Wars toy of all is?
Why does he glisten?
0:46. Perfect.
Not just his arms, his head bobbles a lot like C3P0 as well. It makes you wonder if he was doing it on purpose.
I have that kind of version of boba fett I got my at vintage stock
Always amazes me that no post apocalypse film ever features people going after the cool shit. I'd be kicking the doors down of this place.
norm is so awkward at interviewing.
all that sweat
I'd just turn the mic over to Steve and let him handle the complete tour. Hardly any questions needed.
Other than "Anything Master Luminara I *HAVEN'T* yet seen?!?" LOL
Next episode: rarest star wars collectibles never products :D
Just kidding, crazy collection ;)
so... where is the working lightsaber?
Love it
i talked to a lot of "lunch box dealers".... dafuq?
Strange, other people think he's too shy ...
Apparently people can't make their mind up.
Seriously, he's a little awkward, but a lot of geeks are. That's what makes us lovable!

need to go to Rancho Obi Wan before i die....
1:16 Remember, Don't swallow kids.
Deadpool does not approve.
Beware of lunchbox dealers kids, they're dangerous

I don't know what to do with my hands
He needs his Soy milk
Very cool
Is "presenters" some sort of model collector lingo?
Luke looks like He-Man in the thumbnail 😂
i must pilgrimage here before i die.

The authentic prototype rocket boba fett can go for 17-20 grand
I think he's just a bit shy
I bought a Yarna D'al Gargan.
I don't like THAT Boba Fett prototype. That one's too close to the production model. I like the one on the mailaway sticker, that used 3PO, Stormtrooper and Shogun Warriors launcher parts. This one's practically the one that hit shelves.
I'm a fan of the Star Tots.
