Hey @hazeljohnstone-c8x, most definitely...It's been a few days since planting them and they are braking through already. I'll show them on the next video. Have a great evening.
Hello. I’m your 133rd Thumbs up. Omgosh… if our neighbors dog was barking at us like that in our own yard that would be a problem big time. I’m new hear watching. I would Love to grow my own onions and garlic. I haven’t checked into how to yet. Thank you for sharing. 3:09 I guess your neighbor finally brought the dog inside. Do you do your own worm gardening? I would be interested in that. 😊😊😊Sharon in SC
Hey @connectionoflivesandinterest, thank you so much, 133 is awesome... I get dogs barking from both sides of my yard, I try to make videos when they are inside because as soon as they know I'm in the yard they start barking. I think they heard him and took him in. I bought onion sets but you can grow onions from seeds, starts or sets. I don't do worm gardening however my pots and growbags have lots of worms in them, I see them when fluffing up my soil. I watch a channel, Sweet Tomato Vine Homestead, Mrs. Linda was starting a worm bed/bend, she might have some pointers. Enjoy your evening.
I see yall got that cold weather too. It’s freezing here in Atlanta for the past 5 days. I just went out there to see if my onions still alive. They’re making it.. LOL…. Garlic was still ok too. I hope we don’t get too much colder. Glad you got a good deal on the onion sets. I’m trying to plant onions EVERYWHERE to deter pest. Thanks for sharing and happy gardening and stay warm!!! We’re in the 20s in the morning which is odd for here.
Hey @SteffaniesJourney, thanks. We haven't gotten to freezing yet but our temps got down close to freezing a few nights. I pray our onions and garlic survive the cold and we all do well when we get our harvest. Definitely planting onions all over, I will use all of them around the garden for pest pressure as well. Take care and stay warm over there, hopefully the temps get back to normal. Happy gardening.❤
Hey @TNOG511, thanks for the info, I wasn't sure but I figured it should be OK. Running out and back in myself, don't care for the cold weather. Enjoy your evening.
The key is to only grow what your family eats. That's what I do. Now if there's a veggie that I've never had before and want to try it, I'll plant a few, but that's about it. I'm still amazed at how beautiful your garden is in all their containers! You go girl! ❤
Hey @DandDGardening, thanks and you are absolutely right, I no longer grow stuff we don't eat just because. I do like trying new plants but I like to grow what we like. Have a great evening.❤
I left my okra uncovered during recent freeze. Mistake 😢. They died so I removed me today. Appreciate you. Nothing like not having to buy seeds . Be blessed and happy gardening💚👨🏿🌾
Hey @urbanbackyardcontainergardenin, thanks so much, I appreciate you as well. I absolutely love not having to purchase seeds, starts or slips, it makes the harvest so much sweeter. Sorry you lost your okra but you can start new plants real soon, Spring is right around the corner. Happy gardening.
Hey @HealthyLivingWithWendy, thanks. Last planting, I planted and harvest way more than I needed even after sharing some so I'm trying to stay within reason this time. Have a great evening.
Hey @bemomique, thanks so much. Those plants were probley shocked to get cold temps, hopefully they bounce back and do well. Happy gardening, enjoy your evening.
Hey @rosageorge2612, thanks so much, glad to help. Definitely plant some onions, good for pest pressure and to harvest and enjoy. Happy planting, enjoy your evening.
😂😂😂 Son of Sam’s dog next door. I growing okra next year should be interesting. My garlic is slow to pop above soil but I’m always hopeful 🤷♀️ what else can we do. Have a wonderful weekend hope it’s quiet and warm, stay safe, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦
Hey Ali...Son of Sam needs to be quiet...I can imagine why your garlic is slow to pop up, it's freezing in your neck of the world, hopefully your temps get back to a more reasonable number and they will jump up. Have a wonderful week.
Hey @FarmforProfitUganda22, thanks. You should definitely try planting some, it is very easy to grow and the taste is so different from store bought, you will be amazed. Happy gardening.
Hey @connectionoflivesandinterests, I use Kellogg potting soil from Home Depot, it comes in 40qt bag for around $10. I also add Black cow and organic compost to new soil or to refresh old soil. Have a great evening Sharon.
Hey @jujubee7351, I keep an eye out for Yellow/Browning leaves after about 6-8 months of being planted. You can also move the soil from around the bulb to see if it looks ready to pull up. Hope this helps, enjoy your evening.
Hey @hopemorrison2367, sorry about that...Where I was planting was behind the shed/greenhouse and it was getting late in the evening. Have a great evening.
