I have to give you this. You are excellent at showing us outcomes most people have never seen! Hang in there. I totally respect and admire your integrity regarding accepting when things dont go as well as you'd like. You are stronger than most.
I've said it before - if you choose to play without reloading, you have to be okay with handling failure. I think it's an incredibly rewarding way to play, because it makes the successes feel truly earned and later playthroughs more unique. But if you play that way you HAVE to be able to accept the times when you make mistakes or just get unlucky and all the feelings that come with that. It's a sort of anti-perfectionist stance on the game. But if that sort of long-term commitment to the branching paths and choice/consequence is truly less enjoyable to you than simply having the better outcome, there's nothing wrong with reloading. If you choose to stick with it, I have a ton of respect for that. Also Act 3 is incredibly long if you do everything, no shame in running to the end. But if you choose to reload I wouldn't blame you either. There's a reason that's how most people play.
Not sure what you mean exactly. If you mean that I have to be happy about failing, you're dead wrong :) If you mean I have to accept it, then yeah, I do. But I'm not sure I'd describe that as being OK with it. It sucks. But I'll deal with it.
@GophersVids I suppose what I'm trying to say is that's it's normal and understandable to feel the way you're feeling and it speaks to how invested you are in your character's story. Acceptance to me means, accepting all of your feelings, good and bad. But trust there will be triumphs later along with the disappointments and I'm happy to see you sticking with it even when it's hard. :) best wishes
@@saintsyche This is all unnecessary, unwarranted, and not very useful platitude in this situation, directed at a very self-aware adult. Gopher handled the situation extremely well (IMO), and there's pretty clearly no need to give him your life advice about it.
Almost the same happened to me in my first honor run, had non lethal active, forgot to disable the execute illithid power passive and killed him with it - made me rush for the end as well
At this stage I'm more interesting in just how many ways things can go wrong in this playthrough, often in ways I've never seen before, the tension is quite palpable.
Yeah I feared this would happen. It's surprisingly difficult to knock someone out cleanly at high levels. I often have to reload the Minsc fight at least once if I want him in the LP.
damn that was some rotten luck on your part, old man. your youngest being hooked on a board game was hilarious to listen to, i can imagine her messages almost too well 😂
Dang, I’m mostly just upset that you’re upset, but if you’re committed to no reloads then on we go! Plenty for a second playthrough but would love a Gopher’s thoughts video
I cant believe you mentioned Talisman! (BTW this is an alt act you have never seen, but I did give this a like and subscribed even though I am watching on my other act.) I just tossed out my game of talisman. OG, bought in 1983 at Gencon in Milwaukee Wisconsin. 1st printing! It got soaking wet in our last move. I had laminated all the character cards and the gameboard. But we were never going to play it again, and had no collectors value in that state. Saved the blue and red wood dice. Love your channel. best of luck on your PC issues and WE will be here watching if godown for a few weeks. PS. I love the fallout london, best thing since leonard! KEEP snatching those sweet rolls!!!!
Three companions lost. There's only one more left you may potentially lose in this run :-) Saving people is a mixed bag experience for Reginald, that's for sure.
Wow, I'm Act 3 of my 6th playthrough and I would have clicked the "opportunity attack" and not expected the kill, as you did. I've reloaded for less, but I also played one run accepting all the fails and I "lost" 4 of the 10 possible companions then. If you always reload for "bad" outcomes you always get the same playthrough every time. These things make for great replayability. edit: And actually I've only managed 1 playthrough where I got all 10 companions to the end of the game. Losses are to be expected.
Well, that was a testament for Astarion's damage. It was an unfortunate accident though. You couldn't have known. With my 1500 hours in the game I'd have probably done the same :-) I think it was a combination of having dual-wield on, vulnerability from dagger and critical hit sneak attack. You ended up with three damage instances and a ton of damage dice
I know you're not going to do it but I wish you would go back and do the fight again. Personally, I think it's silly to let a mistake like this spoil, sort of, the LP.
I 100% agree... Halsin was one thing..... but this is, on multiple levels, VERY different. Honestly, Gopher, I've always respected your playstyle, and I almost never backseat, spoil, or anything like that... but just this once, I beg of you, please consider redoing the fight.... You are *REALLY* missing out on an awesome, well-loved character, who is almost a mascot to the entire BG series... and, well, it's just sad....
@@sonjaR2 I think we are all commenting knowing everything already - I love someone going through it facing whatever happens and all the consequences. I think it's what makes this game so unique and well designed. My first run through...ended with one of the many "failure" endings. I didn't reload - I started again and didn't realize how replay-able it was!
@@sonjaR2He doesn't miss much though, just a few conversations and one more companion. Personally, I don't find him very interesting, along with Jaheira, but at the very least she has some stuff going on for her in the city. In my opinion BG1 had much more interesting companions than these two, never understood why they shoved Jaheira in your face in BG2 as well.
This is your DM speaking, do you really want to opportunity attack? Anyway, I hope you find inspiration to play it further and again in the future, maybe the multiplayer aspect can create that.
Toward's the other games mentioned, I would not mind God of War on Stream, more linear, simpler item system than BG3, just good times to share that experience. Have fun with Disco Elysium, better on your time. LEGO Horizon Adventures is weird, I like a new well-made LEGO game, but that price is just ridiculous. Also, everything plastic is so against the nature themes of the game^^.

Also, 👉👈 maybe you and Quarico could have a co-op go at a playthrough?
Why are charming pirates always the richest?
Because they get all the booty.
Sneak attack adds 1d6 damage for every 2 levels in rogue. Double that for critical
And the knife he is using gives enemies piecing vulnerability so on a crit it’s actually 12(d6) damage times 2
At this stage I'm more interesting in just how many ways things can go wrong in this playthrough, often in ways I've never seen before, the tension is quite palpable.
Non-lethal is not easy. Damage riders and critical hits can definitely kill regardless

The problem with the CPU bios updates, they can't undo damage caused by the earlier bios issues.

It’s not the way he enjoys playing games. I don’t even think he views reloading as an option
Lego Indiana Jones is very much already a real thing.

I miss Skyrim VR as well.
Hope that didn't sour your overall experience too much, cheers.

He's in a better place now. With Halsin.
I played with LEGO a lot when I was a kid, my kids played a bit but not nearly as much. LEGO in our home were mostly a stepping hazard :-))
*sad squeaking*
lol I saw that was like 😥
Hey Gopher, where's episode 70? Could you please add it to this list?
