How can you not love this kid. I’d like to think of myself as a “huge fan”. From the begging to the end. Always watched and listened to everything Mac had to say and express. After he passed I feel like I have an unquenchable thirst. Squeezing every last drop of juice out of the fruits he left behind. And yet.. here I am again. Watching & listening to old clips.. crying,smiling,thinking. This dude was a huge beacon of light. Age, Race, etc. never mattered with Mac. For himself and his fans. He just shined the light straight through the darkness with his art. So we could actually see what was there. And even when he was shining the light and exposing what was in front of us and himself, with this dark/complex world we all live in at times..he was still peering in. Excited, scared, confused, but still standing upfront and shining the light into the darkness. Not knowing if he was going to find a pot of gold or a big bear was going to come out and rip him to pieces. He always carried the light and looked in. He was brave. He was a true artist. My favourite artist. I got a lot out of this and needed it today. Thank you for sharing and turning on the light. MostDope RIP MAC ❤️

I really don't see his color & didnt notice until he brought it up & I hate that phrase but I really just see his heart. I remember finding him in like 2013 when I was on my hip-hop tip. I miss that era in general. I wonder what it could've been that could've kept him here.
He truly inspired the culture and its not up for racial debate. I listen to his music and he comes from an authentic place. He was an amazing artist and laid a road map for many artist to follow.

He is right about a lot of this, but it's also funny that someone who got big purely based off luck, considering he got a record deal at 15 from a local studio, which most people don't get that opprotunity, tries to give advice on how to grow when he actually never had to grow himself, he always had marketing and a team to help him get his music out. There are countless artists that make banger music that is impossible to find because the lack of marketing or just the lack of having your name out there. It's a lot more than just making a good song, you can make a bad song hit the charts, it's more about the marketing than making a good song, unfortunately. Most of Mac's music wasn't really billboard worthy, but he got tons of marketing so the few songs that did shine made the entire album seem good.
