“Real metal” isn’t a thing, it’s just a bunch of gatekeeper traditionalists that think the only valid form of metal is what’s already outdated. The stuff you’ve been listening to in the past is 100% metal.. my advice to you would be just like what you like and don’t let these bitter people dictate your taste. Also I recommend listening to Erra - Pattern Interrupt next I think you’ll really dig it

Hey Nikki.
Oh jeezus, don't listen to those idiots that say stupid stuff like "the only 'real' metal is whatever flavor of metal I listen to." Don't get me wrong, I love me some Gojira, Meshuggah and stuff like that. I also like a lot of other types of metal that is just as much metal as the super heavy stuff. People that say "that's not real metal" are the metalhead equivalent of the hipster that says "the only real way to listen to music is on vinyl" or that vegan guy who constantly tells you "the only healthy way to eat is vegan." They are full of shit and everyone knows it except them.
Such a cute and sweet young lady, rather brutal intro with Cannibal Corpse and Behemoth (both of which i love) but she stuck it out and gave them a chance. Much love from the Metal Community for stepping outside your comfort zone/music genre and exploring new things. Cannibal Corpse is not meant to be taken for real, they dont really kill/torture people but it is a common theme among most of their songs and the gutteral vocals are a very acquired taste. Just SUBBED to your channel and look forward to more metal of all genres. Thanks for turning me onto Gojira, I'm now a fan.

I was in a bad mood, but your attitude is just so infectiously positive.
"This is not metal"... Damn I hate that term. I mean come on. Look at all the old school metal. Black Sabbath, Maiden, Running wild... They were " Metal" before one could think about Growls and stuff. Thats the beauty of the genre, the whole diversity.
Death - Empty words or Symbolic or just anything from them really, it all holds up really well despite being "old school".
Watching your descent into the depths of metal reminds me of when I started to discover metal, it brings me back. I love your energy and that you're all about the discovery of new music, I look forward to future reactions from you! Ps: you're easily one of the most positive and genuine reactors of metal I've seen, I dig it. It's a nice mix for a change 🤘 pss: you're discovering some of the best bands in metal so quickly, I'm jealous. It took the hard work of a decade of random discovery to find half of these.
I would love to see Nikki react to Thrash metal and Power metal. It's a bit different than these, but I think equally as apart of the metal community

Cannibal Corpse - Biggest death metal band on the planet. Also chose an amazing song. The riffs in evisceration plague are incredible.
