I love how Nolan started Bruce's journey with him falling into a circular hole, which he climbs from in the Dark Night Returns. The hole has grown to an incredible size, but so has Bruce's strength. In the end the little boy has confronted his fears and understands that fear is not something to let yourself to be hold back, but something that loses it's power if you turn your back to it.

reminds me of how his fear of the opera bats and their theatricality is turnt into his first real outing as the batman at the docks, they're very similar and is a clear example of that fear, specifically the one that got his parents killed being turnt into a weapon.

Why do we fall? Hi everyone, hope you enjoyed this experimental analysis-director’s retrospective. It builds on the insights from a video which I edited for the ‘Jonathan Pageau’ channel last year. So if you want to know more about how the story of Adam and Eve links to the Batman, go check that one out (link in the description).
I had initially wanted to do all three movies in one video, but I felt like I had to cut out too much depth in order to avoid an information overload. So, depending on the reception on this one, I’ll make a part 2 and possibly a part 3.
PS: Warner Bros., please don't block this video again:)

"Some men just want to make great video essays on great superhero movies." Batman Begins is an incredible character journey and an incredible telling of Batman's comic-book history. The movie literally starts with an iconic image from one of Batman's most influential stories (The Man Who Falls) and ends the same way (Year One). And it popularized many obscure Batman characters that even many comic fans didn't know existed. I started reading Batman comics three years prior to first seeing Batman Begins; somewhere around 2001-2002. I was pretty much in loop with most things about Batman and his history, but even I was not aware of characters like Lucius Fox. Since then he became one of my favorite supporting characters in Batman's universe. That's what a great adaptation does: makes you a fan of characters you didn't know about beforehand.

Great Video and analysis of the character using Jung`s concept of the shadow and the Anima, i could not sense any information overload on the contrary there is more to be told, i cant wait to see part two ( the dark knight ) i guess it would be a longer video because the Joker is a very deep character that represents not only 1 man`s shadow but the collective shadow of Gotham city, which tests the Hero`s personality to its core ! Heath Ledger simply personified the Trickster Figure ( Archetype ) in this movie.

The Avengers was that great of a movie. Just like Endgame wasn't that great.
The reason they were popular is there was build up to them so they felt more impactful than they really were.
As stand-alone films though, they aren't very good.
All 3 of the Nolan Batman films are better films by far.

@@brokenwave6125 This... I may say the third wasnt that great but both Begins and TDK are actual good movies.
Take every comic book element from these movies and they would still be good enough to be considered two decent movies about this detective that was forced to work outside the law in order to stop some terrorists and psychopath.
Cant say that for the MCU movies... Cap America Winter Soldier, maybe? But still not as good

I purchased the Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Collector’s Edition Blu Ray boxset a couple days ago. Now I never actually watched these films before. But as a megafan of not Batman, but IMAX, and Nolan and his dedication to the format, I felt it would be a worthy addition to my film collection, and a fun way to not only have these films physically immortalized, but also upgrade the films I had already bought on DVD as, well, that’s all that was available to me.
I have only just finished one of these movies for the first time, this one, Batman Begins, and despite being the last reason to have bought this set (the extra IMAX footage exclusive to the Trilogy UCE set does nothing for Begins) I was genuinely impressed with the film and will definitely go back to it time and time again. Its the one I knew the least of, and so far, I’m ecstatic to dive into the rest of the collection.

This was such an amazing essay, so many analogies and fancy terminologies for this story dissection, feels like if LikeStoriesOfOld made a video on Batman, and this was way more poetic than the usual video analysis about Batman, alot of subject matter and references which will no doubt fly right over most zoomers heads.
Many religious analogies and comparisons to other films, and you being such a ascended film buff of course you're going to have a greater mastery of the english vocabulary than your ordinary Comic Book Geek.
Seriously, the amount of editing for perfect visuals is baffling, and the writing felt so natural almost as if you were simply translating the film's intentions and meanings to the audience , in my opinion your interpretation was that spot on, or at least your presentation made it seem so.
    Great Video and Fantastic Essay.
    godspeed

Theres a reason why the videogame of batman begins was considered the best game based on a movie and the best batman game ever made. And it still holds up.
Everything on this project was dedicated to quality. And because they knew the games to TDK and TDKR could not hold up with this level of quality, they turned in another direction with the games and so we were blessed with the arkham games.
If you think about it, Joel Schumachers horrible movies are the reason why WB was forced to give creative freedom to the producers to reincarnate batman.
So, i never thought i would say this but... from the bottom of my heart, thank you, joel. Thank you

The stuff ras al ghul says and Bruce echoes reminds me of Michael Myers like he had similar idea to become more than just a man strike fear into people using theaticality he can appear and disappear like these ninjas and basically psychologically mess with Laurie head and tommy head later lol. The kids were already talking about the boogeyman before he even really popped up but then he appears lol. He's now the boogeyman the shape can be shot and stabbed multiple times he's not human just like stories they tell of Batman he's supernatural he's A creature lol but he is human or vulnerable but the legend or persona he built around himself makes you think otherwise. Only time that's shattered is when he's unmasked which made people scream cause they figured he's A monster but he's just a man. Carpenter even casted someone that looked angelic to him lol. Michael is supposed to be a good looking dude but like Bruce that's his mask underneath he's really the shape pure evil like Bruce is Batman once covered in the mask that completes the look though even without it they're still that character they created lol.
