Been with my husband for 17 years but I would walk away if he was abusive or cheated on me. If I can remain faithful, so can he. I'm not putting work into something the other person cares nothing about. Sometimes wisdom is knowing when to let someone go.

I agree. Commonality is something but it wouldn't hold ground in a long lasting relationship. It is what you do everyday to each other and everything that surrounds the relationship that keeps the love alive.
It is for some. Every relationship is different, but having shared values, such as a commitment to animal welfare/rescue, is important.

Sounds like someones career is getting in the way, different paths means they want different things, children or career. It's a shame because if you give it time, things usually work out if you love each other. That career path is gonna get lonely without someone to share the victories/challenges with.

If she wants to live in a downtown loft, focus on her acting career, and travel around the world and drink wine and party in her down-time(which is fine), she should just have short flings with guys. Never actually get into a serious relationship with one. It will "weigh her down" too much.
