Advice for parents with babies when flying: bring a bottle or naturally feed during take off and landing, it helps with popping ears due to cabin pressure fluctuations. Someone gave me this tip and my baby never cried on flights.
True. A year ago I went to my brother's place in WV for a sort of family reunion which also included old friends. Like the kids, our old friends Steve and Bill and I were not picky about where we slept in his overflowing house and we slept on cots in the garage, and there was this annoying noise coming from Steve's bed which I thought was his CPAP machine so I didn't gripe. I found out the 2nd night is was his phone playing an app that was supposed to sound like rain falling and helped him sleep, because he said, "I forgot to ask last night if my noise bothered you." I told him it did, but I understood he needed his CPAP, and I hadn't known they were so loud. He said that no, it was his white noise app that helped him sleep and he turned it WAY down that night.
@@pdoylemi that's classic hahaha. I always look for the "train in a thunderstorm" videos on YT. There's something about the rhythmic clickety-clack combined with rain and distant thunder that knocks me out. Maybe put that on next time you're in that garage together again 🤣
@@MarkoVukovic0 Interesting. When I was a kid (13?) having trouble sleeping, my older brother suggested that I could go downstairs and start the dishwasher and concentrate on that sound. It did help a little bit.
My little cousin practically disowned her own child the first time she flew with him, when he was 8 months old and wouldn't stop screaming: she primly apologised to the other passengers, saying that she hadn't "been working with the family for very long" 🤣
I used to read my infant daughter romance novels out loud. I figured she couldn't really understand what I was saying and it was something I wanted to read. Win-win. She was quite into it.

I still think during busy times of year, they should just have flights for families with children and flights for adults. Plenty of parents would choose the flight where they don''t have to be as stressed about disturbing others. It's like the movies for parents thing.
Adults just need to get over themselves. An airplane is a mode of transportation not a place you go for leisure. I wouldn't want a screaming child in a nice expensive restaurant or hotel, but come on people! Should a parent be locked at home until their child is 10?
I don't mean that they would need to enforce it strictly. Movies for Mommies would still allow non-parents in. But everyone would know that there'd be more (accepted) kid noise in that showing. There was these parents who used over ear headphones for the baby on my last flight. If you don’t come at me with how bad it might be for baby’s hearing, I thought it was a good idea. The baby stopped crying and went right into sleep once they put it on.

Yeah.. we traveled across the ocean with a 2 year old and a 9-month old and it was a nightmare. Our baby wouldn’t stop crying and I wanted to parachute out of that stupid airplane or do an emergency landing. Aghh. I felt so bad for all the other passengers but then I realize the baby was miserable too because her ears were hurting. So we kept getting her the bottle and she calmed down. 😢 I am still glad we traveled because that was the last chance for my grandpa to see the baby before he passed. ❤
There are stressful situations in life, and what distinguishes adults from babies is that adults are (should be) able to deal with stressful situations, and babies just aren't able, because they're babies. And the only way they know to react to stress is crying. And sometimes they can be soothed, and sometimes it's not that easy.
Also, screaming babies don't travel on their own, right? So what you're saying is parents shouldn't be allowed on public transport. Should they just stay at home and not ever leave?
@@justyna5673 Thank you. Honestly people can only think a situation through for the length of time it takes to get through how they themselves feel. Then they're DONE!

It's not safe for babies to be in car seats for too long. Also not everywhere that parents need to go is drivable. Babies exist, parents exist, you live in a society and that's just part of being a member of one. Deal with it. Well preferably, be a decent fellow human and have compassion and kindness towards parents who are likely having a much worse time than you if their baby is crying. But if you can't manage that, then deal with it.
I totally love that she is easy going as a parent and isn’t ashamed to admit. I do think she is right about other parents being all judgy and holier than thou about how they raise their kids- well only time will tell whether their overly cautious methods made better human beings.
i had my eldest on a 6 hour flight when she was 6 months old - i spent half the flight bouncing her up and down the aisle, not a single person batted an eye, probably all grateful that it kept her quiet for the whole flight
Also, keep a warm cloth, or 1 they can microwave for you,,,make sure it's not too hot,,, put over the baby's ears to help their ears with the pressure.
As far as being paranoid about the baby, and holding her head, when my niece was only about 6 months old, my youngest brother Fred, her father and I would stand about 6 to 8 ft apart and toss her back and forth. She absolutely Loved it and would squeal and delight! From that point on she was pretty much fearless. I learned immediately that if she stumbled and fell, I would just say " nice landing " instead of acting like a helicopter parent, which would have instilled fear in her! I still do that to this day. If I see a child fall, the first thing I say is "nice landing, can you do that again?"
Can't believe that Kaley Cuoco aka Penny from "The Big Bang Theory" was able to guest in Jimmy Kimmel Live! And it's so nice to know that she now has a 9-month baby! Congrats and good luck to her on her new film project!
This reminds me of the celebrity couple that asked a flight attendant if the pilot could stop making announcements, so that their baby could sleep. When you're in a public space, it's not everyone else's responsibility to keep things extra quiet for your baby, nor should they simply have to tolerate any excessive noise made by you or your baby. I like Kaley, but she is showing a lot of expected celebrity privilege, here. I'm pretty sure that she is worth over $100 million. She can easily afford to fly private, and have as much or as little noise as she wants.
@bscats1 lol they fly commercial because they can’t afford to fly private. If they could they would. You seriously believe that just by one person flying commercial is going to help the environment?
To people upset by children on planes: Babies cannot regulate their emotions. they do not understand where they are or what is happening. Now if you are a fully grown adult and are unable to regulate your emotions over something as natural as a cry then i think you need to take a deep hard look at yourself. It's not the child who needs to stop and think about their actions, it is you and your need to complain. If you're that disturbed, imagine how the parent may be feeling, offer them help, assistance, or even just reassurance that they are doing a good job. I have no children of my own but i will always offer a hand to any mother or father in need. Period.
What would ever make her think she could bring a sound machine on an airplane flight and then turn it on just for her daughter IN THE FIRST PLACE? Next time she thinks it’s reasonable to do that TO everyone else, for the sake of her feeling ENTITLED to do that wherever she wants while on a commercial flight, she needs to rent a private airplane to take them wherever they need to go. Are you kidding me?? 🙄🤦♀️
@sanstar2007 exactly!! The severe level of entitlement and outrage on her part is staggering. Ugh! I can’t even look at her or listen to her inconsiderate arrogance. Will never watch anything with her in it again. 🤮
She's such a doll. If you want a treat though, go immediately and binge "Based On A True Story" series she's in with the delicious Chris Messina. It is phenomenal. Dark comedy with an emphasis on on hilarious. On Peacock. You will not be disappointed, I promise!

YESSSs. The amount of constant judgement and comments in public is something I was not prepared for as a parent.
Jimmy!! Nice Norm McD ref w the “not necessarily”
Can't believe that Kaley Cuoco aka Penny from "The Big Bang Theory" was able to guest in Jimmy Kimmel Live! And it's so nice to know that she now has a 9-month baby!
Congrats and good luck to her on her new film project!
Why is this so unbeliavable? She's an actress, of course she attends shows likes this. Also, she's not just Penny anymore.
Seriously love her so much.
Maybe she’s aware that flying a private plane is horrible for the environment. I would say that flying commercial is NOT showing executive privilege.
She sounds very down to Earth and likeable in this interview. Not sure what you are talking about.
@@bscats1 it is when you expect everyone around you to cater to your little family unit.
@bscats1 lol they fly commercial because they can’t afford to fly private. If they could they would. You seriously believe that just by one person flying commercial is going to help the environment?
@@IM808HIuh, yes? It makes a huge difference.
YES, please do open a Taco Bell, I miss this since decades here in Germany 😁
Being a mother so suits her. She is even more lively than before.
Absolutely love Kaley!!!!!
She is so lovely 🥰
To people upset by children on planes: Babies cannot regulate their emotions. they do not understand where they are or what is happening. Now if you are a fully grown adult and are unable to regulate your emotions over something as natural as a cry then i think you need to take a deep hard look at yourself. It's not the child who needs to stop and think about their actions, it is you and your need to complain. If you're that disturbed, imagine how the parent may be feeling, offer them help, assistance, or even just reassurance that they are doing a good job. I have no children of my own but i will always offer a hand to any mother or father in need. Period.
I think you are doing great job.
Glad that Penny actually made it big as an actress
I love Kaley’outfit very sparkly and I love soarkles
she is a real life penny
What would ever make her think she could bring a sound machine on an airplane flight and then turn it on just for her daughter IN THE FIRST PLACE? Next time she thinks it’s reasonable to do that TO everyone else, for the sake of her feeling ENTITLED to do that wherever she wants while on a commercial flight, she needs to rent a private airplane to take them wherever they need to go. Are you kidding me?? 🙄🤦♀️
You're right. She and her baby aren't alone on the plane. She has already gone crazy with her baby...
I don’t see a problem, if it allows her child comfort. My husband uses a white noise machine every night, and he’s not even crying.
@sanstar2007 exactly!! The severe level of entitlement and outrage on her part is staggering. Ugh! I can’t even look at her or listen to her inconsiderate arrogance. Will never watch anything with her in it again. 🤮
We need season 3 of the flight attendant
Her story should be part of it too 🤭
smart idea@@5xt
Good for her iI ove that she isnt pretentious about how shes raising her child.
Kayley is so insanely likable
She's such a doll. If you want a treat though, go immediately and binge "Based On A True Story" series she's in with the delicious Chris Messina. It is phenomenal. Dark comedy with an emphasis on on hilarious. On Peacock. You will not be disappointed, I promise!
