i mean, as a lifelong chuco resident... i guess i'll always have a soft spot for this ride... but it's still a really rough and painful ride.
I Went to Western Playland numerous times in mid 70’s through 1980’s. Had fun celebrating birthday parties there and I remember that old rickety Haunted House too. And I rode the El Bandido by myself at 7 yrs. A lot !

They toned it down on the brakes since the repainted it. The ride runs faster now.

They just painted it green for the 2016 season. It had been red/white for decades. It also used to have a cool light up sign of Bandido shooting a gun, I guess they never got around to installing it after the move from Ascarate Park

I went on this ride when I was on a school field trip in the 5 th grade

According to RCDB El Bandido was relocated, but in 2006, it was at Western Playland in El Paso, Texas from 1974-2005, that might be the relocation in question. That might be the answer as to where it was before.

Looks like it's barely going to make it. I wonder if this coaster ever got stuck.
I have been there and on this ride and yes it got stuck at the very end of the ride then the workers had to release the catch to get us to the exit but it was only 5 ft away from the exit

Whenever I watch a video of a ride at like Disney World or something I'm always like " Dang now I really want to go there" so I'm just watching all of these since I'm going tomorrow!!! Unlike any roller coasters, even the ones in carnivals, the first drop to this one is insane. Almost as if someone or something just pushed the train cars at the last minute
@@Ray_Shabaz Yes, I rode this Galaxy coaster model hundred times here in Rio de Janeiro... this kind of drop is no longer made in recent coasters.... it is really fast and zip
i remember riding this coaster when i was 13 years old when it was at Ascarate Park, very fond memories, i got my first girlfriend's date there, and then some, now at 52, it is a long memory.
thanks, by the way where did this park go to?? moved from El Paso, years ago and when i went back, it was gone.

We went yesterday and the ride on the seat on the zip line the power went out and they got stuck but safely got down

These Galaxy coasters are usually fun and thrilling but, this one is very slow and boring because the brakes are adjusted too "tight" which slows down the train. :-)
