The 2080 Super compares with the 3070. Almost identical performance. The 3080 will get you 10-15% more performance, but at a significant bump in price on the m17 R4
@@DhalonTech Depends on the laptop manufacturer and the power draw configured. The AW m17 R4's 3080 is a max power GPU with 16GB of VRAM and will perform better than the AW 51M R2's 2080 Super and much better than an R1's 2080

I think you said fans quieter on the Area 51 than other models but still worried about thermals..did you find the lunar white colour hides fingerprints well?
Does it justify the insane price of this thing though? I saw it from $5-8,000 You can get so much more in a desktop custom build. I'm truly curious about this.
I haven’t seen one over $5,000 but the specs on the ones that are $2,500 - $3,000 are pretty impressive and you could always upgrade it later when things eventually get cheaper.
So which is the best 2021 desktop replacement laptop that you can change everything inside laptop also no problem heavy video editing for any video editing software also UA-cam video and gaming?
I know that that you have rtx 2070 you can upgrade it to rtx 2080 super but it's a loss I will recomend you that buy an rtx 3060 3070 3080 etc you can connect the desktop GPU to your Alienware with the help of a connecter
This is basically the best laptop you can get from a company that has next day warranty. There are other options but when you spill your drink over it, you want that warranty; as in next day not in 2 weeks.

I have to correct you. It is not a Max-Q. It is the none max Q with a TGP of 200watts. Basically it performs just like the desktop card

I have this laptop, the 2.5" SATA bay can be removed and has a further 2 x M2 slots which can be used instead AND in a raid config
Just bought recently as I sold my previous 17 R4. Surprisingly the text on the bottom part of the screen can't illuminate by fx anymore?
The R1 does not have the top hexagonal airflow and some R1 have overheating issues. The R2 fixes that but the Ram was reduced to Max 64GB.

2080S with 200W is great. Depends on tests but that 125W desktop cpu tho

This is correct . this is not a laptop GPU this is a custom 200w GPU some say it can get 230w on the GPU .. near the Desktop version .

I bought mine for $3K. For a beast mode laptop, top of the line, I think it is fair.
