I hope they never make the Area 51 again. I owned mine for 2mths and returned it yesterday back to Dell. It arrived brand new with a bend and broke monitor. Dell replaced it. Came to the house. Impressive. But the replacement monitor broke 3 weeks later, screen was creaking like it was coming out it’s casing, and then part of the screen turned constantly white!? Very disappointed with the quality. It also arrived covered in white powder? God know what it was. After all this I simply lost faith that I’d get a few years out of it seeing as it died twice within two months. Shame.
@@Justtellmetheanswer6910 Really so lucky??? You only had screen cracks twice and powder on your laptop?? Guess what happened to my X17, the moment the laptop arrived I charge it the entire screen turns black. Then I found out that water went in my laptop during delivery, and Dell claims that this is considered an “accident” and I don’t have an accidental coverage..
@@Justtellmetheanswer6910 You're just shit at negotiating, this is business. After the 1st repair failed I demanded a brand new system with better specs due to compensation and got it 3 weeks later, got to keep the old one as well.
I recently got an x17 with a 3070, a 16gb RAM configuration. I've been completely unhappy honestly. Sometimes it'd freeze, or have some throttling issues that were fixed by me changing the ram for 32gb, and the fact that the chassis was clicking on me like some clamps broke. But I mean there's lots of things I love, how it runs quiet, and has no heat whatsoever, and the 360hz screen with the optimus and everything. It really beat my GTX 2070 MSI laptop with the overheating issues. I really want to return my x17, and grab an area 51 m2.
area 51m all the way!! been using for 3 years and still a beast no issues whatsover with heavy gaming, doubt that lightweight x17 is gonna hold up in 3 years
Really liked the review, confirmed my choice :) 6 months ago I was looking for a replacement for my 5 - 6 yr old MSI GT80 Titan. Was planing on the Area 51 R2, but saw the M17R4. Alienware was having a big sale on their laptops, with major cuts on the Area 51. Ended up with the M17. A little lower price, newer components and smaller, lighter chassis won out, 2 power bricks didn't help . Your M17 review was a big help.
The m17 was an amazing machine and I was surprised they didn’t just through an 11th gen cpu in it and call it a day! I put the m17 and the x17 head to head a while ago and although the performance is slightly better on the x17 the m17 had the better keyboard, port layout and speakers!!
@@MashITTech The comparison was another good review. After watching it, I was still happy with my purchase. I do like the keyboard, color scheme (Lunar)and port layout better on the M17. The 11th gen CPU would be nice but not sure I'd notice a difference. Your Throttlespot and Afterburner vids have my M17R4 running cool, and fast. Thx.
Great review! I must admit, on a 17 I am disappointed that there is no number pad and I agree that with the ports only on the back, this makes the X17 not so great as I wanted it to be but does have the advantage of making the whole chassis much smaller to allow the reduction in height of the laptop. My M15R3 is still doing a great job, but good to think about a change in the future, thanks for the review!
Great comparison between the top two Alienware 17 inchers... I'm shopping for RAM to upgrade my A51r2 specced similarly to yours (i7-1077K/16GB RAM/1TB SSD RAID0 + 1TB HDD/RTX 2070 Super), and this helped me to be content holding on to my A51 for a while longer. I honestly don't have any problems with it at all (there was a speaker whine when it was new, but had it fixed under warranty), and seeing that I could only expect about 15% improvement with the X17, it's just not worth the cost. I expect that in two more generations of processors and video cards, it will probably be worth the upgrade. For now, I'm going to take the 16GB RAM up to 64GB, and be happy with my beast.
I've been waiting for this Dave. Really great review. Could you do a long term review of the Area 51 M R2? Is it working as well as it did when you go it? Any signs of wear and tear? I've read so many reviews of Alienwares dying out after just a year of ownership. Particularly with the M17's.
I have just started writing a script for the area 51m long term review! Hope to have the video done in about a week! I review a lot of laptops and it’s rare I actually buy them for myself but I did with the r2! It’s a great machine and has held up well in the year I have used it. If there is anything in particular you wish me to cover please let me know and I will do my best 👍
R1 had big thermal issues. I went through 2 R1 2080 video cards until Dell replaced the laptop with the R2 (on warranty). I had the R2 since Jan, average 50-60h of gaming/week (everything from cyberpunk to farcry6, fo4 ultramodded, etc) and not a single issue. GPU is always under 76deg and CPU at 80-85.
@@MashITTech since it obviously seems like the x17 is the better choice, would it be good for 3d rendering?. I'm a 3d artist, and I often have to render animations and portraits, which takes hours or even days. I initially liked the idea of the area 51m being fairly powerful and it's ability to handle heat. Should I still go with the area 51m in these regards or the x17 is still suitable for what I do.
I’m actually planning to buy an Area 51m R2, and I’m still convinced with all the benchmarks out there that a desktop grade processor with all that power surpasses the x and m series. But I was wondering how do I know if it comes with tobii eye tracking or not?
Hi Carlos, I actually recently did a long term review you may find useful: ua-cam.com/video/9ztaQ7UuOUM/v-deo.html with regards to the tobii eye, it comes with the upgraded screen, make sure you choose the 300hz or 360hz panel option 👍
Hi Dave, I can see why you pick x17 at the end. Area 51m is great too, sometimes, we don't really care about the size or weight that much because it will stay at our home 99% of the time. But, we still want some portability because we move between rooms and the laptop is easier to manage, etc. It also has a better Keyboard, Speaker, Port layout too. With that said, The x17 is just too great, I can't believe it's out of stock everywhere (RTX 3080 model). I still remember when people were still not sure because it is an all-new design and there was no review anywhere. I am glad I ordered it early, probably buy it again when it gets refreshed with Intel 13th Gen and RTX 4000 (probably x17 r3).
Yeah it was actually a hard choice as I have loved the 51m for a long time but the x17 came out of nowhere and surprised me! Hope alienware keep up this new design and improve it, would love a qhd option next year 👍
The normal use of Alienware laptops in lunar white eventually experiencing these stains that are creating from the oil in ones skin. Alienware recommends isopropyl alcohol and water but that doesn't work. Has anyone found a way to address this issue? (ONLY ANSWER IF YOU ACTUALLY OWN an Alienware Area 51m, if you don't have one please don't waste my time.)
Now THAT's interesting. The 3080 timespy on the X17 crushes the Asus S17 with 3080 by almost 20 percent. The Graphics score was 10700 but cpu was 7000. The cpu could only really maintain 3700 mhz when graphics also under load. This was in the top tier turbo mode. So for actual gaming the X17 is cheaper and ahead.
Sounds like asus have put a firmware cap in place to reduce the cpu when gpu is under full load! The x15 also does that. Fortunately the x17 is allowed to run full pelt continuously! Also the 11800h is unlocked so I can also run 4.5ghz across all cores if I wanted to
@@MashITTech Asus have completely locked the 11900h except for a bios undervolt option that does get displayed in throttlestop but nothing can be adjusted. No multipliers, nada. You do have a sort of control in manual mode in the Asus utility, you can set Pl1 and PL2 of both the cpu and GFX but even maxed out in manual mode, just cpu testing will shoot it to 4,4ghz then drop to 3.8, so it's got a very low timer limit on the turbo. Temps are crazy low when it's doing this. Turbo is the only mode where cpu only loads can sit at 4.4ghz all day. The cinebench score really was impressive for a laptop.
Super useful your benchmarks man... I was considering replacing my a51m for a rtx 3080 one... But to gain a 10/20 % performance in general... I would rather wait for rtx 4000/amd7000 Alienware laptops... And then upgrade.... 👍👍👍👍
Great video been looking at both this laptops and think I am going to go for the X17, I think the i7 is powerful enough for my needs. I was considering the 3080 but always out of stock is the 3070 worth getting and sacrifice the cool light up trackpad, just with the good deal on at the moment config is at the right price. Lastly is the cherry mx mechanical a worth while upgrade
I just purchased the area 51 r 2 because it's on a black Friday sale for around 2300 after taxes(i7 with the 2070 super) do you think that spending the extra 1000+ to get the X17 is justified this would be my 1st gaming laptop...
No it certainly wouldn't! the 51m r2 is an amazing laptop and with it being that much cheaper I would also choose the 51m r2. We are talking about 10-15% improvement for $1000+!! Also the 51m r2 overclocks well so gives you room to close the gap :)
@@MashITTech The US Dell store only has the I7-10700 cpu option available currently, so no overclocking unfortunately unless you buy the cpu separately to upgrade it.
I really appreciate the Alienware reviews Mash IT! Many YT channels are so biased against AW, like Jarrod's Tech. You have the best reviews on YT, you deserve more viewers!
Does the heat getting up to 50c on the top grill bad? Does it reduce the life of the laptop? And does that mean the laptop is overheating on the x17 r1?
I got the x17 R2 and I love it. I had a 17 R4 since 2017, and though it still runs the latest games, the screen has a splotch and the HDMI port has gone a bit dodgy. Good thing I delayed buying a new system a couple of months as I got the x17 R2 with the 12th Gen i7 rather than the R1.
Yes it sure is. I absolutely love it as I use the monitor for both work and play. Was a bit jarring at first for gaming as it was so big but I soon got used to it. The panel is very responsive and has great colours, it is a massive upgrade over my previous aw3420dw 34” ultrawide
@@MashITTech awesome you ever compare it to the lg 38? I hear they share the same panel but the lg has some better features but the alienware has a better build quality and warranty. Couldn't make up my mind for the longest time but went with the alienware for those reasons plus I'd probably never see the difference. Also I was able to snag the alienware monitor for abit over $1400 Canadian too, think its regular life $2200 up here, maybe alil more so hard to go wrong lol.
I can't decide which model to buy. This will be the fastest and most expensive laptop I will ever buy. I want to have performance, because it should also be used for mining. The x17 is newer and more efficient, but the a51m-r2 is bigger and has better cooling (or am I wrong)? I have good deals for both: The X17 (fully equipped) for 3200€ Or the 51m-r2 (also fully equipped) for 2300€ What is better and faster for mining? Is the X17 worth the substantial amount of money?
With that much of a price difference I would be tempted to get the 51m r2 if you are ok with the downsides (weight and 2 power packs) as it is a great all round laptop with amazing cooling. The 3000 series cards do mine better but they would have to for you to try and cover the huge 900 euro difference!
How much faster is the X 17 regarding hashrates and mining ? Can you really see the difference? Could talk abut the hashrates between the both Thanks in advance
@@salvatorepassarello808 wow that is really testing my memory! I used nicehash and the 3080 got just under 60 where as the 2080 was about 45 so quite a difference
Another great video. Thanks David. I found a 3080 x17 /32gb ram/I7/4K screen on the dell outlet site and so I pulled the trigger and bought it. It doesn’t disappoint and if it hadn’t been for your reviews and tests of this machine, I can’t say that I would have bought it because I have an R13 on order. Dell should give you a commission on my sale lol. Do you ever have problems with command center while using the AW monitor? I have the AW2521 360hz monitor that I used with my M15 r2 and now with the X17. And when I plug it in, command center loads to a white screen. Dell support couldn’t figure it out so their recommendation was not to use the AW FX display driver software which seems to be crashing it. After removing it and reinstalling AWCC that fused the problem for now but I’m unable to change the lights on the monitor which isn’t the end of the world but still annoying. Thoughts?.
Ah do you know I have never tried to change the colour of the screen via command centre! You can change the rgb from within the monitor menu. I will try and see if I can replicate your problem later 👍 have you got a delivery date on your r13? Mine hasnt even gone into production yet and it was supposed to ship Friday 😢
I am one of the biggest fans of Dell computers. My first was a Dell DESKTOP from the year 2000. Customized just for me. It went dark on me in 2014. Loved that beast. Took the old hdd out reformatted a 512 gb hdd and donated it to the Computer Science Club. I've been on window shopping end to date. I'm learning towards the X17 but if the Area 51 is available, I will get that and maintain it.
Does the x17 have the USB 3 jumper cable/port. Pretty handy on my R4 to USB off monitor. I'll upgrade if they give it a number pad. Aka propper keyboard for a 17incher
how a underrated reviewer!! you deserve 1 million at least. i turn back my x17 today because of .net framework issue everytime i boot up my x17. this is so lame for 4600bucks . so i decided to buy 51m r2 instead of x17. 51m's price is 2300$ this is half of price tag for x17. thank you for great review every Alienware. i hope i can see Long-Term review for 51m r2 in your chennal. happy new year god bless to you.
Your timespy scores for the area 51m with the 2080 super seem pretty low . You must not be running the correct performance profiles. It should be getting over 11k I’ve seen some get over 12k with the 10900k and 2080 super combo
i just receive my X17 today. it seems like my MX keyboard the '' key (next to enter key) seems to be very laggy when i press it compared to other keys. are yours as responsive with other keys?
Hello Dave. Fantastic review. I've been scouring the Internet for this for weeks. Question: I'm worried that the Area-51m's 300 nits and 100% sRGB gamut would be noticeably dimmer/washed out compared to the x17's 500 nit 100% Adobe gamut. Did you ever have any problems with the brightness or colors of the Area-51m? Thanks!
sorry I missed your question! the 360hz panel has looked brilliant and is probably the best 1080p panel out there. Obviously the 4k panel will look better but unless you put them side by side I think you will be very happy with the 1080p
@@MashITTech It is the first time i am writting in the coments section but Dave, you have the most briliant reviews out there. My question to you is simple: lenovo legion 7 OR Allienware x17 for better / vibrant screen colours? i dont care about the 2k or 16:10 ratio of lenovo, i just want the screen colours to look better since i am replacing my alienware 13 R3 2k OLED screen. Thank you!
Now that you've decided on switching to the x17, what do you normally do with your former laptops? People say donate it to a family member or resell. If reselling, then what are some advice to pricing your dated laptop?
Because I am a small channel I cannot afford to keep too many laptops in the office (although I would love to for future videos) So when I have finished with either my laptops or laptops I have bought in to review, I put them on eBay. I always make sure to keep all boxes, documents and accessories and just make sure I check what completed listings are selling for on the laptops I want to sell :)
Dear David, Thank you very much for this nice video !!! I was not expecting the 165w RTX 3080 to outperform the RTX 2080 Super 200w by such a great margin to be honest, because the mobile versions of the Ampere series of mobile GPUs are significantly powered down compere to the equivalent desktop versions. I was expecting lets say 5% to 10% improvement at most over the 2080 Super 200w. On the other hand the ALIENWARE Area 51M R2 can be equipped with the intel core i9 - 10900k which is a deca - core CPU compere to the ALIENWARE X17 which its highest end CPU, the the i9 - 11980HK, is still an octa - core. I am an Artificial Intelligence Engineer, and I develop programs that take use of multiple cores, so for me the CPU with the greatest amount of cores is more beneficial. And that is the reason why I am towards buying the ALIENWARE Area 51M R2 over the X17. Though I would like to ask you if you could elaborate a bit more about the build quality of the two machines, and how they compere to each other in this regard, which fills more solid, which has better materials, camera, and microphone quality, if and which one has cracking noises when you open the lid or press the chassis a bit harder, etc. . Thanks again for this nice video and thank you in advance for answering my question !!!
Hi Chris, yes the fact the 51m can utilise a 10 core is still an advantage over the x17 but the 11th gen CPU’s are more efficient per clock cycle and better in single core! How I wish they allowed us to upgrade to 11th gen on the 51m. Build quality I would have to give to the x17, it feels like a tank with no creaks etc. The 51m is still well built but as it is so much thicker it has a bit more give to it. The 51m r2 is much better for upgrades though as not only do you get more ssd bays but it’s much easier to access the cpu and gpu. Hope this answers your questions but fire away with any more. And I will compare the cameras later as I am not I. The office at the moment 👍
In the video was 2070 super and 10700 if it was 2080 super with 10850k or 10900k like in clevo but I don't no if alienware have that option but if it was the highest spec despite 2000 series and 10 gen I think it will beat it
I needed exactly this comparison & your video only dropped 9 days ago, what a happy coincidence! Tyvm for the detailed comparison, I'm amazed the x17 just outright wins at everything!
Glad it was useful for you. I have been struggling with this one as I love both laptops but the X17 is definitely the better performance whilst being much slimmer and lighter
@@MashITTech the Area 51m r2 was awesome, but sadly it's yesterday's news now! I was interested since I saw it was on sale in the UK, but not enough of a sale to make lugging around something that's double the weight once you include the extra power brick too worth it!
Yes, the r2 has 10th gen cpu and nvidia super gpu instead of 9th gen and ordinary nvidia (ie 2080 vs 2080 super). The r2 has a new and much better keyboard, slightly better speakers and a slightly more refined body shape
In your experience would it be best to wait until after CES to see what 2022 holds? I’m looking for an X17 but not sure on if these current year ones will be cheaper after.. also how long do they normally take to ship after being announced?
It depends how quick you need the laptop. I think we will start seeing 12th gen laptops announced but I think the low powered laptops will ship first (like usual) and we will likely see 45w laptops nearer the summer

finally gotten my x17 with rtx 3070. one thing i observed is the heat just under the screen from the honey comb vent. it reads withing 48-52 degrees according to the alienware command centre, but what i'd like to know is if this is a normal temp despite it feeling hotter than indicated, to the touch in the place i mentioned.
That is an air intake and it is very normal for it to get scorching hot. That is where the heat is exhausted from the copper fins out of the laptop. The one good thing is Dell put it at the top of the laptop where you do not need to touch and keep the keyboard cool unlike other manufacturers 👍
@@MashITTech You`re currently my favorite youtuber. thanks for the quick response. the other thing i noticed was that i had temps of like 85-90 on my CPU even as the cpu was only at 50+ usage. should i be bothered?.
@@tochukwunwankwere3573 when the CPU’s boost the temps do shoot up quickly, it is very normal. Have you watched my deep dive? In it I undervolt the cpu and also overclock it as dell left it unlocked. You can also adjust the TCC to stop the temps going above 85 if you wish as dell let it run to 100c out of the box
@@tochukwunwankwere3573 tcc is throttle control circuit. At default the laptop will not throttle back the cpu until it reaches 100c. With the tcc option in bios you can change that value anywhere from 100c to 85c I have a dedicated video on that also when dell first released it for m17r4
Thanks alot for comparison Dave, please you have any idea if it's possible to hook up an RTX 3030 or 3090 in an Alienware external graphics amplifier to the Area 51M R2 to boost the graphics performance?
I was really upset with x17 bc it released so soon after Dell sold me a m17r4 for $3k. If I had known I'd of waited simply for the cooling upgrade. That said, now that I've had the m17r4 a bit I've decided when / if I'll upgrade based on the following criteria. 1) I want a display upgrade. I love my 360hz display now and for games it's perfect for 17" panel, but I overlooked how much 1440p would benefit me for my remote work looking at emails and Excel files all day. I also recently.purchased the LG CX OLED for our family tv. So with that I've decided my next gaming laptop must be 1440p and OLED bc that panel tech is amazing. They've did that for 4k variants so I'd like to see it for 1440p. If OLED doesn't happen in the next 3 years then it definitely needs to be 1440p for my work. 2) I want the cherry switches on the x17 but I game a lot at night and so I want the secondary keys to also be backlit. 3) I want the Alienware software completely revised. It's old, dated, and clunky. It's probably worst in class and they need to overhaul it. 4) I'd prefer these in a Area m51 r3 because I do travel but not too much. I'd prefer the higher GPU wattage on a next gen card and a full size CPU because some of the older games I play are very CPU bound and I'd prefer being able to swap it out. An area m51 with an upgraded cooling system similar to x17 would be amazing. However, if they did dump m51 from their lineup then x17 would be ok with me. Edit** 5) Almost forgot, I want the webcam removed. Thinner bezels > integrated webcam. I know everyone loves Windows Hello but I'd rather have thin bezels and choose when I want a cam and a better one at that for about $50. Nice comparison video, thank you.
I want a. X17 r2 in that beautifully thick case of the area 51 and with a 4k screen that would play games at 1440p. That would be the ultimate gaming laptop.
Area 51m r2 support 11900kf upgrade and we can buy 2080super for area 51m r2. After upgrade with these, I think it will similar or better than full loaded x17
It’s a beast of a machine! The problem with being a reviewer is although I get to test lots of machines I don’t get to spend enough time on my own 😂 might have to jump on my x17 for a few rounds of apex later!
@@MashITTech lol definitely a beast, same specs as yours with a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro Gen4 NVMe, no problems with games(never tried apex I might have too), yes the fans can rev up a bit but I don't hear them with headphones on :) i like all the ports on the back, it works well for me as I don't need to play with the cables and I don't see them, Alienware KB 510K/Mice M610 and Monitor AW2721D attached. I feel your pain hopefully you get to spend some time on it soon:) keep the videos coming, awesome content.
I can see the advantages to the ports being at the back, and I guess as I am a reviewer I am plugging things in and out more than most! How do you find the aw2721d? Hats the only alienware monitor I don’t own 😂
@@MashITTech The monitor is awesome, port selection is great, crystal clear, colours are vivid and runs the games nicely at 1440p 240hz, I think the only down side is it does not have a built in speaker and 30w consumption is high for this, overall i am very pleased with it.
@@wolf1980reed yeah none of the alienware monitors have speakers but to be fair most monitors speakers are rubbish anyway. I am currently flirting between the aw2521hfl and aw3821dw, love the 38” the most but sometimes when I want to game at a better level I prefer the 1080p 240hz panel
Hello mate loving the videos. I’m looking for a gaming laptop now to start off with I normally play on Xbox series x but looking something to play on the go as working away a lot. I play mostly COD and warzone. I take my gaming seriously and want the best machine I can get. As I can’t get the x17 with the 3080 would you advise to go for the area m51 or have you tried the m15 R6 as it can be got with the 3080? Cheers bro.
Hello mate, I have reviewed the m15r6 and also compared it with the x17, here is that video: ua-cam.com/video/k43xDprKJKM/v-deo.html although you can get the 3080 on the r6 it won’t be a 165w version and more like 130/140 😢 I would rather get a x17 with 3070 than r6 with 3080. The 3070 destroys warzone at 1080p and even plays amazingly at 1440p so it’s still a good choice 👍
Purely for gaming I would get the 3070 x17, it is such an amazing machine for gaming, the keyboard never gets hot, it’s not that loud, 2x gen 4 ssd slots and is built like a tank! If you are buying from dell let me know as I can usually get hold of reasonable discount codes. Think there is a 16% off floating around at the moment
@@MashITTech Thanks so much! Was debating between the Legion 7 and x17 but I think I'm decided on the x17. I'll be purchasing from Dell but none of the 16% coupons I have tried seem to be valid for the x17 models only the M15's.
@@MashITTech Yeah, that one and VCEARLY16 but both just say "valid code, but isn't applicable to any items in your cart." but they work with the M15 and Area-51m R2 Models. I'll just have to wait for a decent coupon to be available for the X17.

I get company discount on Dell and watched like a hawk on the Dell sales, never saw the top spec fall under 2.3k ever even with the discount codes etc ? 10900k / 2080 super Review was great though, nice work ! Also the X17 is all BGA (one part goes - game over) , that personally is a big negative and should have been mentioned as a clear win in comparisons :D just my 2 cents worth !
they did dip down to that price when they were discontinuing them, I actually contemplated getting another at that price knowing Dell will never make another proper desktop replacement again :(
@@MashITTech ahhh okay! That's the very last stage then 😂 I just managed to buy one for £1000 think it was a good price so decided to sell the corsair one and come back. Thank you for the video. I have the same thought as you mentioned. I'm thinking about buying one between 51M and X17. Hard to make a decision. Honestly, 51M R2 is in my mind. It supports an amplifier which gives me the opportunity for a GPU upgrade. Yeah, X17 doesn't. But 51M is real heavy, comparable with M18X R2 once I owned. I know it's a real pain when I have to move out with this 'heavy burden'. And awful battery time. I think I will go for X17 eventually, though my heart tells me can't say goodbye to 51M.
I prefer the Area 51 as you can still change the cpu and gpu. And also the fact that it's older but keeps up with new gen laptops. And it just looks badass like when buying a gaming console, the fat versions are way better than the slims.
As I had mentioned before, I am coming from this to x17 r2 i9 and 4k screen with 4k monitor My 51mr2 i9, 2080, 4k I hope that i am upgrading as opposed to wasting money. Hahaha as i also have that eAGU with it(not using it though) Hopefully you have a more in depth suggestion? Awesome channel and subscribed
It is definitely an upgrade especially for that screen alone! You also get a slightly more powerful laptop that only needs one slim and light psu (compared to that house brick old 330w) and they have balanced the fan to performance well on the x17. I loved my old 51m r2 but eventually I had to sell it as it’s just not cutting it anymore, I just wish dell had allowed us to upgrade the gpu, it would have given it a few years life 😩
Was looking to pick up the x17 3070 with 4k screen but decided the 3080 was the better fit for the panel and that put the price up there. Just recently sold my 18 r3 and am a fan of big huge screens but ultimately the 16:9 ratio was the deciding factor. My favourite machine so far after having almost 30 alienwares over the years was the old 17x r2 with the 1200p panel. I ended up going with a legion 5 pro mainly for the 1600p panel as I do all my photo and video editing on the laptop that I take to work every day. Going to keep an eye on the x17 if maybe the next r2 will go 16:10 and then it will be my 2 decade old dream to finally have a sexy machine with everything I want, slim, sexy, powerful, awesome 4k display.
The legions are also amazing machines! The legion 7 and x17 have been my two favourite laptops this year! Hoping we get an x17 r2 with 12th gen early next year and they give us the qhd we have all been asking for. And yes that was a good model 17, I used to love my red m18x r2 back in the day
@@MashITTech have to give some credit for your reviews in deciding on the legion thank you 😊 🙏🏼 . I’m always an Alienware guy through and through but I’m ok with this machine to get what I need to get done in the time being. It’s always about what boxes each machine can check for everyone and for now I think the P5p did that. And 💯 one little factor was I think 12th gen or ryzen are around the corner as well. My ultimate Alienware would be an x17 4k quality panel, 16:10, 3080, efficient cpu and possibly being able to work with the slim adapter for portability. Carrying the 18 to work every day for the past year and a half wasn’t the easiest given I had a 14 before it ! I think the power brick was heavier than my 14 😅 I think the size and look of the x17 are simply head and shoulders above everything. 👍🏼👍🏼
That is very true and it is also much easier to get to the cpu and gpu as the motherboard is not inverted! Thanks for pointing this out, I should have mentioned it in the review 👍
This is partially true in regards to the cpu/ram and ssds, but the gpu is proprietary, scarce and not likely to be upgradeable to anything but the 2080 super.
Love my core i9 9900k 2080 super alienware 17 erea 51m, I don't use it much except during camping season and vacation trips...it passes my time playing games on rainy days and I use it during the night before I turn in. It's A beast. I'll not upgrade until it dies or they make something that will make my drool. I kinda frown on the new ones that they took the number keypad away.... That is a big seller for me.
Love my X17. However, every single model of the X17 has terrible speakers and vibrations/distortion at higher volumes with certain tones. No clue why they went with crap speakers and didn’t set them in the chassis correctly.
I got my A-51M R2 last week. It’s an impressive machine. It came fully specced: 10900K, 2080S, etc. If you want some Benchmarks let me know! BUT…. The quality control of dell is a joke. 1. 10 screws were missing 2. The plastic of the Heatsink was still underneath it. (So it was between the copper and HIS of the CPU. 3. The Dell-sticker was still on the cpu. 4. Gray subtle line on my 144hz display (with g-sync) Dell doesn’t produce the a51m anymore so, im quoted for an X17 as replacement What do you say?
Compensation Almost fully specced x17! As replacement What I love about the a51m is the fact that there are non-laptopo components and also the thickness of it (regarding temps, and longevity) I will post them asap! For sure
wow nice scores! I am so tempted to buy a 10900k and deli it now 😂 Thanks for running these. Have you decided what you will do? the X17 is a nice machine and performs well so could be a good option
@@MashITTech good morning my friend 👍🏽 Temps were also great: highest temps were above 90 I contacted DELL and told them i want them to replace my screen with a g-sync compatible one + a complete package of new screws. If it’s not possible i will take the offer (but with g-sync monitor, xmp ram and 2Tb of storage) same specs as my a51m r2. Im so frustrated, since i really love the thick design of the a51m r2. And overall it performs great. Best thing would be to get a new a51m r2, but they don’t have them anymore, since it’s is EOL. The X17 might perform overall better, but the biggest downside for me is its thinness. Im not buying into this new “cooling technology” since physically a thicker chassis has undeniably better cooling capabilities, and dissipation. Also the a51m r2 has desktop components in it, which are more heat resistant and bulkier. And if something would go bad, you can still replace the cpu with a new one. Also i really love the port-orientation of the 51m ( as you mentioned in your amazing review) The keyboard is amazing. The design fabulous. It’s sturdy, heavy, beefy, fast… I don’t know what to do. Does your a51m r2 have g-sync? If yes, at what frequency and what is your screen model?
You won't believe this but my S17 is faulty.. it was making a clicking noise as the fans sped up and I ran the Asus diagnostic and it said the fan is faulty. Sigh, they are picking it up today for a DOA RMA. Just a few days old. What I find interesting is that it gets 5641 in Cinebench R20 with the 11900H as it's able to maintain the rated 4.4ghz on all cores whilst testing and never goes above 90 degrees. Just comparing to the 11800h results here. Honestly if I could find a 51mR2 with 10900K I'd get that as I could use the 2 extra cores but the entire model is impossible to find here anymore. If he has an Asus in stock I guess I'll take my chances with a replacement. I still miss my Alienware no matter what happens and I wasn't huge on the Asus mechanical keyboard, I much preferred typing on my previous M17 R3.
Sorry to hear that mate! Sounds like you got a good score when it was working, are they giving you a replacement or refund? Pity you are not in the U.K., they have some incredible prices on 51m r2s at the moment. Ps has your blade 14 arrives yet?
@@MashITTech Nope they sent it wednesday, they reckon it will arrive today (4am here now) but we'll see. I can do anything I want with a DOA according to AU law, I can ask for a refund or replacement. If the razer does come today I might see if I am just happy with that for the next few months, refund the Asus and wait for dell to bring something new out or something that grabs me in every way. The thing that really did get me about the Asus though was the ridiculously good latencymon scores and the fact that for working with music projects it would have been amazing as cpu only loads it's very very strong. But 5800 AUD refund and just using razer for a few months might be the way to go. I really did buy the razer as a backup and travel thing so I am never without a laptop if one has issues but for a couple months it might make sense for me to be patient and just keep checking reviews and deals all the time!
Oh and I did NOT like a 4k screen to be honest, it caused scaling issues in windows and various apps on the Asus.. 4k 17" just doesn't make sense to me.
Yeah, you would think by now they would have the scaling sorted out! Well let me know how you get on with the blade, I loved that little machine and wished I got to keep it! Might be worth sticking with that and using an external screen for your music work, gen 12 laptops should be here early next year and there will be a load of new laptops to choose from
@@MashITTech I'm concerned gravely about gen 12 cause they'll need Win 11, and a lot of older games will never be updated to work with hybrid cores.. if anything, you just reminded me why I wanted something now LOL.
hi, I have the M17 R4 3080 i7, I am not usually travelling, but if I am, can I use the new compact power brick? also, even when thermals is set to "quiet", the fans ALWAYS spin even though not much, its not loud, but I LOVE how quiet it is on battery, any idea how to TURN OFF the fans please completely? for browsing or video watching, not for any load of course
yes I have tested it with the slim adapter and it works perfectly 👍 Sorry, I have also been trying to control the fans on idle with no luck yet! will update you if I manage it
@@MashITTech optimus on, windows power saver mode, battery mode in throttle stop and its so silent in the room! but it's far from snappy that way, which is very annoying, maybe 3rd party app?
@@MashITTech enable optimus, room is completely silent, enable Nvidia GPU, always funs at 30/40% and I know its a powerful laptop (M17 R4), but at the same time I expect it to be able to be silent while no load, and browsing internet/watching a video saved locally is no load so for me, enable optimus even though CPU is around 50-52°C, its silent
Call me biased, but I prefer my M17 R4. I got 32 gb ram knowing it's soldered. I have it tweaked, thanks mostly to Mash IT videos, so it gets around 70-75c when gaming. I7 10870H, 3070. Came with 1TB m.2 NVMe SSD, just added a 2nd Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB.
Amazing review ! Best Alienware products. Strongly the update with the 12th gen CPU !! And if the X17 R2 in 2022 I hope, could have a numpad, the backlit on the secondary keys, RGB trackpad on all models and a slim power brick I sell my MacBook Pro M1 😂 How is your order for the Aurora R13 / 14 ?
i actualy watched this because the area 51 ... please let me know if i can buy this beast now ... i read somewhere that it is discontinued :( ... but any info will be appritiated
@@MashITTech thanks for the very quick answer, i got my hope back for having the area51, now i just have to look how to deal with the belgium restrictions for the keyboards :(
I keep asking dell and they won’t give me a firm date but I have friends who have just had their 3080 builds finished so maybe they just got some back in
Man I hope Alienware makes a m51 r3 in the future.
I agree, but it would have to have 4 fans to justify purchasing something so big now that the X17 is out
I hope they never make the Area 51 again.
@@Justtellmetheanswer6910 I've had absolutely no trouble with mine, and I've had it since it came out.
I just got a area 51 mr2. I am loving it, super fast, nice keyboard and music sounds amazing, love it.❤
I recently got an x17 with a 3070, a 16gb RAM configuration.
I have none of these problems maybe you just got a bad laptop it happens
area 51m all the way!! been using for 3 years and still a beast no issues whatsover with heavy gaming, doubt that lightweight x17 is gonna hold up in 3 years
Really liked the review, confirmed my choice :) 6 months ago I was looking for a replacement for my 5 - 6 yr old MSI GT80 Titan.
Hopefully they will correct the niggles for the r2. I am also hoping they add a qhd screen option too. Glad you enjoyed the review 👍
i definitely agree with you on that and dont forget too the x17 also dont have a g-sync , its really disappointment.
i dont get why they take out the number keyboard on the side .... wtf
@@MashITTech is the x17 good for long term use?
@@MashITTech since it obviously seems like the x17 is the better choice, would it be good for 3d rendering?. I'm a 3d artist, and I often have to render animations and portraits, which takes hours or even days. I initially liked the idea of the area 51m being fairly powerful and it's ability to handle heat. Should I still go with the area 51m in these regards or the x17 is still suitable for what I do.
@@tochukwunwankwere3573 the x17 is more than suitable and although slimmer the 4 fans easily remove the waste heat from the machine
Area 51m is great too,
sometimes, we don't really care about the size or weight that much because it will stay at our home 99% of the time. But, we still want some portability because we move between rooms and the laptop is easier to manage, etc. It also has a better Keyboard, Speaker, Port layout too.
With that said,
The x17 is just too great, I can't believe it's out of stock everywhere (RTX 3080 model).
I would pick the area 51 m for the fact that i can fix anything on it and make it last longer
I’ve had both of these and I loved both of them, personally I prefer the x17 r2 but both of them had some issues like failing to boot
No numpad is what's holding me back. Bought the m15 before the Area51m and returned it because of the lack of Num pad. Some games require it.
Super useful your benchmarks man... I was considering replacing my a51m for a rtx 3080 one... But to gain a 10/20 % performance in general... I would rather wait for rtx 4000/amd7000 Alienware laptops... And then upgrade....
👍👍👍👍
THE ALIENWARE AREA 51M LOOKS LIKE A BEAST....ITS LOOK IS LEGENDARY...THOSE WHO AGREE SPIT THEIR OPINION
Why not keep both. I own 8 laptops. I use most of them for different things
at 6.53 of the video, how the back lighting lit up like that?, I have x17 r1 4k version I don't see that in alienware light setting
Nice rucksack, which one are you using ?
It is a belkin slim laptop backpack. Unfortunately I cannot see it for sale at the moment so cannot give you a link
Im curious to see the alienware 51m r2 utilizing the AGA, ive heard around that someone put a 4090 in it and only lost like 5-10% in performance
@@MashITTech The US Dell store only has the I7-10700 cpu option available currently, so no overclocking unfortunately unless you buy the cpu separately to upgrade it.

sorry for the slow response mate, I have been away! thank you for the kind words, it is really appreciated :)
Does the heat getting up to 50c on the top grill bad? Does it reduce the life of the laptop? And does that mean the laptop is overheating on the x17 r1?

That’s good because I love making them 😂
Same 🤣
Awesome as always. X17 R2 will be be incredible.
Hoping 12th gen releases on laptops soon! Can’t wait for r2, let’s hope they add a qhd version!
Is that the 38 alienware monitor? I just ordered one but would love to hear some thoughts on it.
Hi David, can you review a x15 r2 3080ti? Also vs the x17 r2 comparison? Thanks
Yes that’s on the list. Got a lot of videos I am trying to get through. Have the x14 and m15r7 coming soon too
I can't decide which model to buy.

FYI I just checked my order status and it now says in production. That’s new as yesterday it was getting ready for production or something like that.
Just checked mine again and still sitting at confirmed 😭 guess you will be getting yours first 👍 please let me know what you think of it ?
You can change the CPU and GPU on the A51m R2.
Yes you sure can but you are limited to 10th gen cpu and 2060/2070 super or 2080 super.
Will you be reviewing the new Aurora’s?
I am one of the biggest fans of Dell computers. My first was a Dell DESKTOP from the year 2000. Customized just for me. It went dark on me in 2014. Loved that beast. happy new year god bless to you.
Thank you very much for the kind words. And yes I do plan to do a long term review of the 51m r2. It has been a real workhorse of a machine
Your timespy scores for the area 51m with the 2080 super seem pretty low . You must not be running the correct performance profiles. It should be getting over 11k I’ve seen some get over 12k with the 10900k and 2080 super combo
i just receive my X17 today. it seems like my MX keyboard the '' key (next to enter key) seems to be very laggy when i press it compared to other keys. are yours as responsive with other keys?
amazing vid👍👍
Thank you mate 😀
Hello Dave. Fantastic review. I've been scouring the Internet for this for weeks.
Question:
I'm worried that the Area-51m's 300 nits and 100% sRGB gamut would be noticeably dimmer/washed out compared to the x17's 500 nit 100% Adobe gamut.
Thank you!
For X17 1080 (360hz) option VS lenovo legion 7 QHD (165hz)
Now that you've decided on switching to the x17, what do you normally do with your former laptops? People say donate it to a family member or resell. If reselling, then what are some advice to pricing your dated laptop?
Because I am a small channel I cannot afford to keep too many laptops in the office (although I would love to for future videos) So when I have finished with either my laptops or laptops I have bought in to review, I put them on eBay. I always make sure to keep all boxes, documents and accessories and just make sure I check what completed listings are selling for on the laptops I want to sell :)
I’ll buy it 😅
Hey could you review the x17 and x15 base models ?
I have reviewed the x15 base model, it’s on my channel. Do you also want a review on the 3060 x17?
Awesome work
Dear David, Thank you very much for this nice video !!!
@@MashITTech what a dream if they allow us to upgrade to 11th generation cpu and 3000 series gpu on the R2, I love the build quality of this machine.
Great! Thanks for your work! Great Alienware pcs. When Area 51m R3?
I have the horrible feeling there won’t be one but maybe sell will surprise me!
Hi David! Are you expecting Alienware x17 R2 with i7-12700H ? Very intresting how new cpu deals with temps.
Yes, we have i9 and i7 with 3080 ti on order. Will also get a 3070ti when they are available 👍
@@MashITTech Amazing!! Thank you!!
Hello there,is there any difference between Alienware area51m r1and r2
Great review
Please help me decide between:
Area 51M R2 at 840usd$ (unboxed display unit) with 1 year warranty. I9-10900k + 2080 super.
2nd option: Alienware X17 R2 i9-12900H / 16GB RAM / 1TB SSD / RTX 3070TI 8GB Graphics Card / 17.3 inch 480Hz 1Ms Delay FHD Display at 1560.USD also unboxed display unit with warranty.
I am coming from a desktop (high end) and want a good casual gaming experience and I mainly play valorant.
Area 51m r2 with AGA + 3080 vs x17 r2 rtx 3080 please
Finally.. war of titans
Sure was and I still haven’t managed to get rid of one yet 😂
finally gotten my x17 with rtx 3070. one thing i observed is the heat just under the screen from the honey comb vent. it reads withing 48-52 degrees according to the alienware command centre, but what i'd like to know is if this is a normal temp despite it feeling hotter than indicated, to the touch in the place i mentioned.
@@MashITTech ok. whats the TCC?...also, I`m heading to watch your deep dive video now.
Edit**
5) Almost forgot, I want the webcam removed. Thinner bezels > integrated webcam. I know everyone loves Windows Hello but I'd rather have thin bezels and choose when I want a cam and a better one at that for about $50.
Nice comparison video, thank you.
Not having the webcam removed if you want windows hello facial recognition, but I agree with all the other points
I want a. X17 r2 in that beautifully thick case of the area 51 and with a 4k screen that would play games at 1440p. That would be the ultimate gaming laptop.
yeah, don't know why everyone is so obsessed with thin :(
You can get the Area51m to do 11500 on Time Spy
Very informative. Thank you.
Area 51m r2 support 11900kf upgrade and we can buy 2080super for area 51m r2. After upgrade with these, I think it will similar or better than full loaded x17
The 3080 will still be a bit ahead but it will definitely have the advantage in cpu performance
Great video :) , still loving my X17
Wow, a reviewer that cares about/shows sound and comparo's...
Sub'd!
Thank you mate, it’s appreciated 👍
On a budget of around £2000 what would be your personal laptop recommendations purely for gaming?
Have you tried: MUEARLY16
@@MashITTech Yeah, that one and VCEARLY16 but both just say "valid code, but isn't applicable to any items in your cart." but they work with the M15 and Area-51m R2 Models. I'll just have to wait for a decent coupon to be available for the X17.
getting x17 R2 soon?
We sure are. Got a top spec x17 r2 on order. Still in build stage. Also have an x15 r2 on order 👍
Area 51 m what gpu is it actually because you said Rtx 2070super at the beginning of the video then you say rtx2080 so what is it???
Sorry if I wasn't clear! I originally reviewed the 2070 version and loved it so much that I bought myself the 2080s version which is what I used in this video.
Great video! I’m curious however about your scores 🧐 I have a 51m R2 and my 2080S scores a 11800 avg timespy graphics score. I too also have a 165W 3080 laptop for work, and while the 3080 runs like a champ, I keep coming back to the 10900K in the 51Mr2
You are not the first person to mention that on the 51m r2! Any chance you can add me on Instagram so that we can work out why there is such a difference? The fact I have a 10700 should make that much difference 🤷♂️
@@MashITTech Did you run the overclock profile? That’s probably why.
I get company discount on Dell and watched like a hawk on the Dell sales, never saw the top spec fall under 2.3k ever even with the discount codes etc ? 10900k / 2080 super
Review was great though, nice work !
That's the very last stage then 😂
I just managed to buy one for £1000 think it was a good price so decided to sell the corsair one and come back.
Build quality on these was pretty epic, had a few 51M R1s.
The new X17 looks a great balance on power / size...
I just think the bulky the better quality, no idea why 😂
Wow that's an amazing price, what specs did you get for that?
@@MashITTech thank you, 10900k and 2080 super, not so great but still fine for me is the 144hz panel. Its not brand new, but used.
Still a cracking price imo
Thank you for the video. I have the same thought as you mentioned. I'm thinking about buying one between 51M and X17. Hard to make a decision. Honestly, 51M R2 is in my mind. It supports an amplifier which gives me the opportunity for a GPU upgrade. Yeah, X17 doesn't. But 51M is real heavy, comparable with M18X R2 once I owned. I know it's a real pain when I have to move out with this 'heavy burden'. And awful battery time. I think I will go for X17 eventually, though my heart tells me can't say goodbye to 51M.
about that.... amplifier does not work with 3000 series probably. You should check that out
Which one is the best
Would say the x17 is the better option for most people but the 51m r2 is cheaper, has the better keyboard and speakers
The 51M R2 was already out of stock. It may have to stop production.
I prefer the Area 51 as you can still change the cpu and gpu. And also the fact that it's older but keeps up with new gen laptops. And it just looks badass like when buying a gaming console, the fat versions are way better than the slims.
As I had mentioned before,
I am coming from this to x17 r2 i9 and 4k screen with 4k monitor
My 51mr2 i9, 2080, 4k
I hope that i am upgrading as opposed to wasting money. Hahaha as i also have that eAGU with it(not using it though)
Hopefully you have a more in depth suggestion? Awesome channel and subscribed
It is definitely an upgrade especially for that screen alone! You also get a slightly more powerful laptop that only needs one slim and light psu (compared to that house brick old 330w) and they have balanced the fan to performance well on the x17. I loved my old 51m r2 but eventually I had to sell it as it’s just not cutting it anymore, I just wish dell had allowed us to upgrade the gpu, it would have given it a few years life 😩
@@MashITTech exactly, only thing is they sent me the old power brick with my x17 r2... contesting it now with dell.
the game itself caps the FPS to match the refresh rate of your monitor you can remove the cap by using a command on steam/origin
Ah thanks mate, I didn’t realise as I had turned v sync off 😂👍 thanks for the heads up
Ty for the video it was great and very informative
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Was looking to pick up the x17 3070 with 4k screen but decided the 3080 was the better fit for the panel and that put the price up there.
I think the power brick was heavier than my 14 😅
I think the size and look of the x17 are simply head and shoulders above everything. 👍🏼👍🏼
I love the feel of the alienware too, it’s such a tank. Glad I could help you make a choice 😀🤣
For longevity the area 51m would be better because ALL the parts are removable. So if something gives out it can be replaced.
On a flagship laptop I am really surprised the speakers aren’t better as the 51m speakers and. M17r4 speakers were much better!
Dell had to cut corners somewhere lol.
I got my A-51M R2 last week.
It’s an impressive machine. It came fully specced: 10900K, 2080S, etc. If you want some Benchmarks let me know!
BUT…. The quality control of dell is a joke.
1. 10 screws were missing
2. The plastic of the Heatsink was still underneath it. (So it was between the copper and HIS of the CPU.
3. The Dell-sticker was still on the cpu.
4. Gray subtle line on my 144hz display (with g-sync)
Dell doesn’t produce the a51m anymore so, im quoted for an X17 as replacement
What do you say?
Man that is shocking! Did they offer you compensation or just an x17? If you can and temps are ok could you please run time spy and cine bench?
Compensation
Almost fully specced x17! As replacement
What I love about the a51m is the fact that there are non-laptopo components and also the thickness of it (regarding temps, and longevity)
I will post them asap!
For sure

@@MashITTech good morning my friend 👍🏽
Temps were also great: highest temps were above 90
I contacted DELL and told them i want them to replace my screen with a g-sync compatible one + a complete package of new screws.
Also i really love the port-orientation of the 51m ( as you mentioned in your amazing review)
The keyboard is amazing. The design fabulous. It’s sturdy, heavy, beefy, fast…
I don’t know what to do.
Might be worth sticking with that and using an external screen for your music work, gen 12 laptops should be here early next year and there will be a load of new laptops to choose from
@@MashITTech I'm concerned gravely about gen 12 cause they'll need Win 11, and a lot of older games will never be updated to work with hybrid cores.. if anything, you just reminded me why I wanted something now LOL.
hi, I have the M17 R4 3080 i7, I am not usually travelling, but if I am, can I use the new compact power brick?
also, even when thermals is set to "quiet", the fans ALWAYS spin even though not much, its not loud, but I LOVE how quiet it is on battery, any idea how to TURN OFF the fans please completely? for browsing or video watching, not for any load of course
yes I have tested it with the slim adapter and it works perfectly 👍 Sorry, I have also been trying to control the fans on idle with no luck yet! will update you if I manage it

so for me, enable optimus even though CPU is around 50-52°C, its silent
@@ondrav3705 oh wow I didn’t even think to try that as I am always in dedicated. Good work finding it, will test mine later
Just reviewed from Dell official website, the 16g 3080 of X17r1 is out of stock....only 8g of 3080 availble for x15
Hi, Balpha:
The X17 R1 with 16g 3080 was available now. But delivery in January. You must find it in the PC gaming deal.
@@windowc6591 thank you sir
Call me biased, but I prefer my M17 R4. I got 32 gb ram knowing it's soldered. I have it tweaked, thanks mostly to Mash IT videos, so it gets around 70-75c when gaming. I7 10870H, 3070. Came with 1TB m.2 NVMe SSD, just added a 2nd Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB.
there is a lot I also prefer on the m17r4, the keyboard is much better and so are the speakers!
Amazing review !
Best Alienware products. Strongly the update with the 12th gen CPU !!
And if the X17 R2 in 2022 I hope, could have a numpad, the backlit on the secondary keys, RGB trackpad on all models and a slim power brick I sell my MacBook Pro M1 😂
How is your order for the Aurora R13 / 14 ?
Yeah so praying for qhd with the x17 r2! My r13 isn’t even in build yet 😭 going to chase dell tomorrow as others are in the build stage
@@MashITTech 🤞🤞
well this video has proven to me that any other person who has done benchmarks on the area 51m r2 has been bullshitting their temps, thank you
They could be running it max fans to get better temps but I value my ears 😂
i actualy watched this because the area 51 ... please let me know if i can buy this beast now ... i read somewhere that it is discontinued :( ... but any info will be appritiated
Dell seem to have discontinued it but have still had it for sale (at least it is in the UK) and they have had some incredible prices here
@@MashITTech thanks for the very quick answer, i got my hope back for having the area51, now i just have to look how to deal with the belgium restrictions for the keyboards :(
I had the alienware 17 r5 but due to water damage (i have accidental coverage)dell is sending me the x17 r2.cant wait to try it out
Hope you enjoy it 👍
I Have a doubt why isn't there a 3080 version in x series at present
They are out of stock! Massive issues getting the 3080s at the moment 😢
@@MashITTech 😢 Oh no will they be available next year ?
I keep asking dell and they won’t give me a firm date but I have friends who have just had their 3080 builds finished so maybe they just got some back in
@@MashITTech oh thank your very much for patient reply 😊 Love your Work
The 16g 3080 in X17 is available now. Checking Dell website in Pc gaming deal.
