Have you not read the books? Even in the movie the showdown was the whole point of the concert. Lestat was trying to provoke the elder vampires out of their hiding. The books covered everything much better than QOTD which was trying to combine three novels and too much of that story was lost.

I love the story of Lestat... It really does show the emotional depth to vampires and why they are the most interesting characters in the end in all the vampire stories.

Seriously miss the days when "vampire culture" fandom belonged to a select few. Now it's all too common. This came out when I was in middle school, and I checked out this film from the library, and the girl across the counter looked at me like I was some strange, creepy thing. Now I get treated like I'm apart of the whole thing because of Twilight. I mean, come on! I grew up on the Hammer films and other Dracula films, The Lost Boys, Interview, etc...

Jay Gordon does Slept So Long better, but that's more because that song is better suited to his style of singing. Both were amazing though.
