hi Mandy... From where do i book private taxi for local sight seeing? Please help. Also, umiam lake apne visit nhi ki? Is it not worth visiting? Is boating allowed in umiam lake?
I touched Umiam Lake on our way to Shillong. It's in the video. You can speak to any local taxi driver.

Inner Line Permit (ILP) is not required for visiting Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura...In the rest of the states of North East it's mandatory...and can be made easily...baki documents m Aadhar card rkh lena...and/or Voter card, driving licence etc

When we went, it was shut. We were told the same thing by MTDC and local drivers as well
Is july good timr for visiting Meghalaya?
Hey, just check the weather 10 days before you book. If it's not raining cats and dogs, you're good to go. People usually come between June to August to see the waterfalls at their best.
July August is the best time to visit shillong, it's raining but worth it.

And one more place is there Chympai cave and under that cave there is Khaddum falls last month only I visited that place and it's totally heaven.aur thank you for reading n replying to my comment 😁
MTDC ke office me 1 din pehle kitne baje tak booking ho jaati hai ?
The office remains open till 5 PM, but it's best if you book your tickets in the morning

I have been to shillong last month, its true that we have heard a lot about shillong but its not that good from my aspect. Shillong must be green and covered with mountains all around but that doesnt make it the best. Shillong is just like a normal hill station. There is nothing to be excited about shillong. There are hardly any attractive place except the city seeing point. The hotels too are not that worth they are way too expensive and the food too is very bad in taste and unhygienic. But a place near shillong named Cheerapunji is very satisfying. Shillong doesnt have good travel accommodation airport is very far. The security for tourists at shillong is not doubtable. Shillomg city has got only 7 tourist place which will take hardly 4-5 hours to visit all because they are not very great and attractive tourist place. I will recommend to visit only Lady Hydari Park and a Cathedral Church in Shillong.
Hotels in Shillong are costly and the hotels are also not worth of your money. The service of most of the hotels are also not good. The crime rate of Shillong is very less but there is no loss in taking precautions becuase you can not trust every people. There is nothing extraordinary to visits. Just a small town with mountains. Fooding and lodging is very costly.
I only recomend this place to those who have never seen any hill station cost of living is very high in shillong.and we cannot find anything that cost below Rs 5 to stay for 1 night the hotels charge minimally around 1000 bucks n even more than that the food in the hotels are just okay and cost very high.the cab drivers charge very high for new passengers and u might also be fooled if u r not previously aware of the actual charge.😊

Avoid shillong ,instead go to madhya pradesh or other place, local people are not helpful and no good food for vegetarian, they charge huge amount for taxi
All mightnot face similar problems you faced..
For some travelling is more important than eating
We went with family for Meghalaya trip, people were really helpful and good-got to know so much about their culture too, and got vegetarian food too.. All must visit meghalaya
