Good video; wish I had found it BEFORE I set up my mother's xumo box. Now I am wondering if the xumo box can be linked to an Alexa account. My mother uses Alexa to turn on the TV but the damn xumo box is always off which confuses 89 year old mom. I know xumo has a setting to not shut down, and I had it set that way, but every morning the dang box is off!

Thank you for commenting! You probly already try this, but If it’s dormant like that in the morning, try hitting the home button to “wake it” up. Agree with you that it is super frustrating how it has no setting to be always on.

I have a question. I'm considering getting a smart TV in the near future and have AT&T Internet and Landline phone service controlled by a modem. Would Xumo or Roku work with such a setup like I have?

Yes Xumo would work as a streaming box over any internet. The spectrum tv app ^should^ work like that too similar to Hulu, Netflix, etc. However if you have a smart tv you might have almost everything the Xumo box can do already baked into your smart tv.

Spectrum tech here… Just unplug the xumo from power and plug back in. Weird I know but works lol

Yes, you can. It works with Internet and there are plenty of free channels that you can use. You just won’t be able to see the spectrum channels without a spectrum TV plan

Well I haven’t tried but they do offer all kinds of channel packages with premium add-ons. For example, I have the basic package, which is called Spectrum TV essentials. And I’ve done the add-on for Cinemax then I canceled it because I wasn’t using it.
