    I wish somebody could make an entire film about the Romanovs using whatever filming techniques, props and scenery they used in this film. This brief clip was so ethereal, it really gave me a feeling of time and place for Imperial Russia and being with the Tsar's family like no other film clip I've ever seen! It was just. . .magical!

      The Imperial Palaces are awesome and well worth visiting.
      Watching this clip it was obviously Nicholas, Alexandra, Alexei, Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia with their Auntie Ella dressed up as a nun but who was the man at the beginning dressed in black? (Rasputin?) And the other young ladies?

      vann tedd though I agree with your view that the people of Russia and the country itself was far vetter off with the Romanovs, I dont agree with your views on the rest of the world empires. The way they get people to support communism and the overthrow of governments is when a nation is going through an economic crisis due to war or circumstances. This creates a sense of desperation that blinds people and makes them easily emotionally controlled by offering economic, racial, gender equality. These promises of course are simply not true, they are false promises. Though I wont speak for the english, french, spanish empires. All whom had good and bad moments throughout their histories. I can say that regardless of the atrocities that happened to the natives in America, the fight for land and resources was part of daily life way before europeans came. Natives fought and killed each other all the time over these things. The only difference was that the europeans had much hetter weapons. In the end most latinos and Americans have native blood in their ancestry so its ridiculous to even get into that. Natives survived through us. Americans dont all agree with everything our government does and unfourtunatelly the further left our government goes the less our representatives care to represent us. As more Americans wake up to the true wickedness and crazyness of the communist left, they have been forcing open borders to gain mass influx of leftist illegal aliens whom they have been trying to grant voting rights to. It was a great nation while it lasted, but hopefully it lasts a little bit longer before these power hungry commie psychopaths take it over. When comparing the kings and queens of the past with communist tyrants, I always found that the royals at least had a sense of duty, they felt responsible for their people and wanted their love and admiration. So at least they tried to rule as best as they could. But when I compare these with communist dictators, like maduro, stalin, kim and so many others they were completelly wicked and cruel! They want to be worshipped and obeyed as gods! They live as billionaires while their people starve, eating out of trash cans and they severely punish or kill them if they dare complain! There is no regard for their people. These are complete narcissists! Ultimatelly it is a globalist governance that they want to achieve. They want a global scale communist dictatorship which will ensure that no one can challenge their power and authority as only they will have all the military power and weapons to keep the “masses” in line. Also one of the reasons they want to reduce the world population by half. They will have all property rights to everything including food, wealth, natural resources. There will be no where to run to and no one to come to the rescue. Now that is trully scary!

King George V had to take into account the opinion of his subjects and the government, and they did not want the Tsar and Tsarina to stay in England. If the king acted against the people, he would most likely lose his crown, as happened in many other monarchies then. @skullsaintdead 9 місяців тому

      @@davidlogan4329 Indeed they were, Nicholas II was brutal to his people. I think it was reflective of a broader failure of the monarchist system (how random people, purely from a bloodline, get to be king/queen, with no knowledge/personality to rule). Nicholas II was so ill-suited to be tsar, he was indecisive/self-conscious, he relied upon his brutal uncle for policy (until he was assassinated in 1905). Nic II was passive, ill-equipped and uninformed to govern (and afraid because he believed he was God's authority on Earth, very religious, yet he had no idea what he was doing, kept screwing up & killing people, and his wife, who he grew to rely upon, was sick, possibly chronic pain and/or depression/anxiety, who herself grew to rely upon Rasputin, a rapist creep who should of never been allowed near the family - but tragically, Nic II's love for the Tsarina and sick Alexi permitted it, so all of these factors would be incredibly dis-empowering & contradictory to someone who thought they had divine rule). He'd prob of been a good chemist or accountant with a loving wife and family (with no power whatsoever) but for someone with no experience, no knowledge (except religious) and no real personality to lead, it was always going to end in disaster. It's tragic all round, really, most for the people of Russia to have suffered so much and also for a family to have been cut down (the kids moreso). Failure of the system, but also definitely of his own incompetence.

    They may be gone here on Earth all the treasures they have gone... but their souls and memories are forever remembered. They can’t bring all the wealth they have all the power and money and huge palace they have that was stolen from them are just temporary.... the real palace and right place which they are now is in Heaven. RIP ROMANOV family.

      The movie is more artistic than dramatic but very good.

    One can't help but feel utter loss and mourning for the Romanov family, it's so horrible to think about the cruel and disgusting things done to that family by those horrible bolsheviks. And by the way all you antisemitic people in these comments disgust me, just because one Jewish person did something wrong does not mean they represent a community. Get your facts straight, and realize the bigger picture.

    • @BolshevikCarpetbagger1917
      @BolshevikCarpetbagger1917 6 років тому +4

      Matt da witch Educate yourself and see what is behind the anti-Jewish comments here. Start with the murderous anti-semitic pogroms of the early 20th century by the order of the same guy you're mourning. Maybe then you'll familiarize yourself with terms like Black Hundreds and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

    • @mattlibra3139
      @mattlibra3139 6 років тому +1

      Bolshevik Carpetbagger it doesn't excuse the anti Semitic comments now, maybe back then it was ok to say that the Bolsheviks were bad people and they were, but Jewish people now aren't bad

      Russian Ark. It's a film about two men who die, return to the world of the living as ghosts which nobody can see and make their way through several scenes in Russian Imperial history as unseen observers beginning in the 18th century. It was shot in one continuous camera movement without a single cut. It's been uploaded to U-Tube.

      I don't think it's mean to be taking place in any specific time. It's more an idealized depiction of the Romanovs with all the children around the age when they were killed. The shots heard from outside I take to be a foreshadowing of tragedies to come.

    • @danielalvarado9019
      @danielalvarado9019 4 роки тому

      Louise X it’s not meant to take place in any certain time. It is here to show what was going through all the Romanovs mines at the time. It’s a very beautiful interpretation.

      ... after watching the scene over and over again I don’t think that that nun is actually there just like Anastasia’s fairies. The fairies were there to show Anastasia‘s child likeness being the youngest of three older sisters but I believe the nun is there to show us how religious and scared the empress was at the time. I believe the empress is talking to herself or in her head when she’s talking to this nun or saint Elizabeth herself. The empress says “You’re always watching me.” to the nun

    Evil Men will do, what evil men have done for centuries. From the begining of time. Looking out for their interest in all aspects of society. When one goes against the grain, being out of character. The uncompromising invisible hand of "those"that be will somehow put things into place yet again as they have for centuries..
