They put in real work.

I always had this theory that Eminem always had mad love for ICP. When Eminem blew up, he wasn't going to just jock their balls, because Em was dissing everyone. So, he dissed ICP as a way to put eyes on them. It honestly probably helped ICP out a lot. Eminem had giant blow up dolls of ICP on his Up In Smoke tour that he made a mockery of, but everyone in that crowd now knew who ICP was. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube was also on that tour. I think ICP was too young and naive to really see it at the time.

Eminem, at the height of his fame to now has always had a complex. He knows he got privileges when he hit. How many great Rappers got a Hollywood movie about them 2 years after hitting the mainstream?

Add to that he's image conscious so he knows the more beef he embraces would kept his name relivant. More drama for the magazine's and media the better.
