@Unc_Talks sorry, but no, working on the chassis takes an absurd amount of time, always more, than you anticipated. If you delegate it to someone - a lot of $$ in labour, if you do it yourself, your time isn't free I suppose. 😁 Even if you're building for yourself. Would rather spend that time driving, than working on it, but that's me. Body work = a lot of fabrication usually, mechanics - if it fits, it fits. Unless it's some big custom stuff, super rare etc.
Lol you know when you see a train wreck about to happen but can’t look away you just have to watch it happen , that’s what this build is ….. no engine work , no cleaning , no proper rust repair …. Just has to look “Cool”
Without funding and the idea of the project there would be no project. Also, he's learning a lot along the way and you say he can't associate with his own car? Bizarre.
@@slim_krakow4174 The problem isn’t that someone else is doing all the work, it’s that he keeps saying “we” about all the hard work that’s being done on the car when he’s just contributing the money to get those finished. Nothing wrong with paying to have a car built or a job done, but taking credit for the work is unfair to the people who are actually putting the effort in, especially when they’re doing it for free or cheaper as a friend.
@@Tapport he does say that "we" for a fair bit, but in most cases correcting himself, that Jason or whoever else is doing it instead. Overall, I feel like people in the comments are overreacting, usual thing over internet.
20:03 my brother in christ you haven't saved anything. you haven't fixed anything mechanically (or done any of it yourself like you said you would in previous videos). you've literally paid someone to slap the world's worst body kit on a rust box because looking cool is the most important thing a car can do.
you know any channels that have built a car in the best way possible. i’d like to watch but if this guys doing everything wrong i’d rather watch a better build 😂
@@sanoober I think "best way possible" is a hard metric. The channels that do like the "CIVIC TYPE R BUILT IN 30 MINUTES" cut out all the mistakes and give an unrealistic expectation of working on cars. Unfortunately I don't know of any other EVO 2 DIY builds (which is what drew me to this in the first place) due to the high cost of entry. That being said, I'm a big fan of Ronald Finger- his Fiero Revival series is super cool and he does all of it himself and figures it out along the way. Donut has gone downhill in recent years, but their old High Lows and the Money Pit Miata series are fun. Torque GT's P1 series was super cool when it was getting regular updates. My friends like POWERNATION's stuff but they do muscle cars and I'm more of a JDM guy myself. I also can't stand their accents. Car UA-cam is a cesspool unfortunately, and a lot of the really interesting stuff that isn't a blatant cash grab comes from smaller channels. Best advice I can give is to keep your eyes peeled and hopefully the algorithm blesses you. Godspeed and good luck brother.
I respect the spirit and balls to try something like that's a bit different, never know how it's going to go. However it feels like you are trying to speedrun too much stuff - a dream car build, low budget, short deadline, a long ass trip and building the community at one go. I wish you all the best and whichever way it all will go - it's an adventure and I'm sure you will make the most of it, learning along the way.
this video is really hard to watch for a lot of reasons. its 20 mins long with little to no editing. seems rushed and slapped together. i seriously end up skipping 90% of the video because i cant be bothered to wait 20 mins just for one or 2 pieces of the car to be assembled. Please try and make the video just a little bit more engaging and interesting.
Dude the guy works full time. (He mentioned it in an older video). He also has an interesting project car. Body work is harder for a beginner,so its okay to ask for help.
I don't think you or the guy "building" the car should ever be knocking the quality of the Hedgehog kit. The most backwards and incorrect way to build a car ever blogged on the internet.
I love these kind of builds. I'd probably go similiar route if I wanted a show car. Good luck!! Edit: I really like to watch someone like Jason how they approach challenges
Absolutely nothing wrong with farming out work to the experts! the person who commented do something yourself is also the one who takes 5 years on a project that never actually gets finished because nothing he does is done correctly.
The reason he's getting cooked in the comments is because of shit tier quality of this video, recording someone else fix stuff on your car for 20 minutes without anything interesting, including horrible sound and video editing.
Cleetus McFarland literally built his entire channel by recording other people build Leroy and standing around making dumb comments and stupid catchphrases. Yet people seem to love him.
Get rid of this shell and come pick up my project 190E that’s been sitting for 5 years. Rust free with a turbo m104.980. Much better starter shell than what you’re working with
take the seam sealer off behind the wheel arch, common place for bad rust. Why not tub the front wheels as you'll be running larger wheels now and most likely they will rub like mad
Respect to Jason taking on the extra work and wanting to make a nice end product
Kit before engine work is a bold move. Good luck!!
Would have done the mechanical repairs first, since it will be traveling, or praying that it will make it several thousand miles.
Bodywork is the worst bit. You can rebuild the drivetrain so much easier, as parts are everywhere.
@@slim_krakow4174 Yeah but it costs more. So for a budget build, its important to know up front.

This should be Jason’s yt account and project 😭😹
Should have sandblasted the body and do the rust repairs before you even started to bold on bumpers and side skirts and what not.
jason is kind of a saint
"Im going to fix it with my friend " 💀

I think I saw Jason’s soul leave his body when he realized the engine was probably F’d. Here’s hoping it’s not too much trouble.
At this point this is Jason's channel and TJ is just the narrator 🤭
Man the end goal will be cool, but you’ve done literally nothing, this is Jason’s build
Hey now, he's helped film all of Jason's incredible work!

Is it your money? Look inside your pocket dude.
Why don't take the engine and wash the car before the repairs
Jason is so good

Finally we did It!!! We ?????? They did it
Jason's the best person to put a body kit on because of his quality work.👌
and so basically ur just filming people working on the car?

Keep it up man, the project always gets bigger than you originally plan but once you can enjoy the car it’ll be worth it!
Bro this as far as I go Can’t have a can Chanel and can work on cars. Best a luck with the car
push the clips on the hinge both side and you can set the hood 90 degrees
