Timing is everything! I just ordered my Nakaya Naka-ai today and was torn over medium or broad. I typically write with mediums but figured the nibs would write finer so I went with Broad CI and this helps to solidify that choice! No second guessing for me 👍🏽
I went with the medium soft. Hopefully I'll like it, but then as you say, there's hardly any shops that stock the pen or nibs, so no chance to test them out. Thanks for your review Stephen! It's been useful!
hello keith! I'm about to purchase a nakaya as well, so I'm wondering how is your experience with the medium soft? I'm usually using japanese medium or western fine. I was planning to order a medium until I saw how dry and scratchy nakaya medium is as presented by Mr.Brown here.
Nice review. How much is the difference in line width between the Nakaya B and BB nibs? Is the BB nib comparable with the Platinum 3776 "C" nib? Thanks
Oh Alexander I must correct you here. Azizah, while maybe a peanut, is Stephen's better half and does much more to enrich his life than any pen will every do. Ever.
Right, this helps me plan the next one. Woop! Thanks Stephen! Also, I really think Nakaya should start letting people purchase raw ebonite pens, even if only so that they have more freedom customising it down the line.

I love my Nakaya music nib, especially how it also writes very nicely on the reverse, turning into a wet cursive italic.

I have two Nakaya pens with that nib. I call it a harpoon barb nib, but there must be a more correct name for it, what is it?
Thanks Stephen .
I'd buy those tester pens if they sold them - I think they look great!
Allan Engelhardt you could go for a portable hairline finish

(Yes there was snickering)
Why the intro sounds weird?
Lol Azizah.
Didn't cross the first 't' in Stephen! Argh!
You could have told us before that your cat could talk. We're not that close-minded.
