Considering Smash Bros ended, and both Nick and Warner Bros are getting in on the idea of a fighting crossover game, I hope to see another Shonen fighting game.
Probably in the 60th anniversary if Shonen Jump decides to make another contract with Namco or they just go to someone else like ArcSys or Capcom, the former might be the most likely option because of the success of Dragon Ball Fighterz.

I want another Jump Super/Ultimate Stars. Or a game similar to the PS2 Naruto Ultimate Ninja games. I, however, do *not* want another traditional 2D fighting game like Dragon Ball FighterZ. As fun as that game is. I'm also burned out on those games. They get boring after a while, at least for me. I'd take another Budokai game however. Also, Smash Bros didn't "end". Ultimate did. Anyone thinking there won't be a new Smash for the next console is fooling themselves.
The reason I don't think that Ultimate/Super Stars will get a direct sequel is because those are games published by Nintendo. I mean, it goes even so far that Nintendo's former boss, Satorou Iwata, is listed as executive producer for those games. I think that Bandai, who currently seems to be in charge of the Jump License, doesn't want to be too close to a series they were not involved with. But still, I think that the 2D-Platformer format works much better for this type of game than the 3D arena stuff that Bandai does with Victory Versus and Jump Force. Great video btw! :D
I'm glad I'm not the only one that enjoyed the Jump Stars games, it would be cool if they tried something with that concept again, using manga panels for main and secondary characters seems like a perfect idea to increase the roster with assist only characters.

Yeah, Jump Force is kind of dissapointing in general to me. It tries too hard, the models are too "realistic", they're not expressive enough, and all the characters feel relatively samey. That and the story and cutscenes are just strsight up terrible.
Or Medaka or having a support system that lets my favorite series Sketch Dance join in or Arale or anyone from Gintama and the list goes on. Jump force wasn't a Jump game. It was a "lets turn the most popular anime into the MCU" game

It really sucks that Jump Force is being discontinued, an optimistic side of me thinks it might be a sign of a Jump Force 2 or a new Jump game entirely but I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
Well 4 me all I want for the next 1 is to stay a 3d arena with a nice online mode with a good gameplay like jump force with at least more than only 1 character(s) from Dragon Quest: The adventure of Dai this time with or without a story mode.
It’s nice having all your favorite characters in one game. The story and combat are repetitive but i find it fun to whip out against friends who never played it.
You could use the character abilities outside of combos in J-Stars VV+. All you needed to do was pull up the combo-list and just look up the button commands. (Typically it's only one button (like Circle) and a direction)
J-stars Vs really did it right, characters with different power scalling has a different way to charge their energy. It kinda feels like how you would expect it to function, Goku's energy charge has sort of basic energy charge, like how the more you hold the charge the faster it charges up, while luffy on the other hand could go to second gear that gives him massive energy boost, and so on. Moveset is much more unique compare to Jump force for example luffy has many different combos depending how you use his skills, like when base luffy continues to use Gum Gum gatling gun he'll jump to 2nd Gear and you could chain that second gear to turn his Gum gum rifle attack into red hawk. Naruto could change form from sage mode, it changes some of his skill on how it functions. Look jump force has its shine I would admit that hearing bakugo saying "Shut up" to vegeta is pretty funny ngl but, it's just plain and simple or rather it's a little lazy. Everyone has a special move when they press R and that's it, no chaining combos or using different forms to perform different special attacks. Maybe they focused on how the game would look sure I'll give them that but, the story dude it's kinda boring. Finish this 20 important quest so that you would unlock the next story event, oh you're done with the story event hahaha okay do this 20 quest again like why? is it like that. Lastly the most depressing thing I saw in that game is when you defeat some characters in the story whether they're villains, heroes, a different body type, they all have this stupid walking animation. Black Beard: Gehahaha, Okay luffy It was fun fighting with you but I still have something important to do, so I'll catch you later straw hat. Proceeds to walk away like he just felt the effects of having Alzheimer's* Like wtf dude.
Yeah the gameplay of Jump Force felt honestly pretty similar to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games with just a tiny bit more variety in moves but overall still felt too simple for such an epic idea.
J Stars got me back into anime. I was excited to see something like this because I didn’t before. This was 2014, when they didn’t even announce and English version at first. I started watching JoJos, Gintama, Hunter x Hunter. The game was lack luster but I’ll never forget 2014

Great video! However I would mention that Jump Force's story mode is incredibly weak. I've played through it and it's just a bunch of: "Oh! This character is possessed by the evil! You need to battle it to restore them!" And then after the battles they literally just walk away or teleport. There is a bunch of missed potential when it comes to the story mode of this game, and it's a real bummer. The combat is great, don't get me wrong, but the writing could've been so much better. 6.5/10 for me.
I think Jump Force's biggest weakness is the story. I really enjoyed the gameplay, but the story being good might have mitigated a lot of the hate when it came out.
I can understand the points he was making to defend jump force, but at the same time, the "3D anime arena fighter" game had been done so many times, that representation and fan service is really all jump force gave
You missed the original J Stars Victory VS Japanese version and the "superior" Western port J Stars Victory VS+(which is what you're talking about in the video) Both versions are the superior games in the franchise once you learn combos and have friends to play with to complete the experience.
J stars victory is where it peaked for me that was my childhood a really good roster with fun chaotic gameplay if j stars gets like a remaster or something I think it would blow up

I like J Stars. It’s not the best, but I think it’s pretty fun. It could use a bit more polish and maybe a better combo system but still pretty good imo. From what I’ve heard about Jump Force, it was very easy to just spam your way to victory. I hear there’s a new Jump game in the works, so maybe they’ll find a good balance between J stars and Jump Force
Cool video man. I'm just glad you got to experience Jump Superstars and Ultimate Stars. I got those for my DS around 2009 or 2010 and they were my everything. I loved the combat, the representation of so many anime/manga and the visual aesthetic as well. I really wish another one would be made, but I highly doubt it. I think I like the idea of J-Stars Victory VS and Jump Force's gameplay, but they need A LOT of refinement in the gameplay and visuals as it always looked a little janky and unpolished. But that's just me.
I've had Jump Ultimate stars for a long time now, it's one of, if not the best shonen jump games. The panel system is so creative. The character animations are awesome, the combat is simple, but fun, but the only thing I miss from super stars is the dual combos that were really fun to see. My personal favorite was seeing Hiei and Dio team up.
with jump force im not mad about the premium coin shop because the outfits in there came from online raids and tournaments as rewards so allowing them to be bought for free in game currency would seem like a slap in the face for the people who participated in those events
I got jump force but now I can’t buy the dlcs and stuff I know why and it sucks now I have to to their website and see if I can get the dlc characters I should’ve gotten them on ps4 while they were there and free when I had the chance

Jump force received a lot of hate due to the story and graphic design but it is probably the best in term of Gameplay when you dig into the mechanics (Jump Ultimate was really simple to play and J stars is completly broken but both are fun)

I got my start with Ultimate stars, really fun game even if you can’t read the Kanji. (But you will need to look up a guide to complete the story if you don’t have the English patch). I personally preferred Victory Vs over the next game, mainly because all the characters were overly serious and when a joke was attempted it fell flat on its face.
I still remember reading Nintendo Power as a kid and seeing the listing for Jump Superstars in upcoming games, it looked glorious, but it did state it was on its way to Japan, and they wrote with hope that it'd be coming to the west, but alas...
My favourite is ultimate stars, with super stars as a very close second. The fact that characters in super stars can use combinations of ultimates (like don patch and vegeta having a combined ultimate, or naruto and goku) just makes that game so much better

I see Jump Force is $10 (normally 100$) for the Ultimate Edition on psn right now. But, man... it's a bummer to hear that in 2022 you won't be able to play online anymore. There are some that are only for phones, although most are the typical Japanese games for phones, there are 2 that are quite good: • Shonen Jump Stadium: it's like smash bros, with Shonen Jump characters from all eras • Jump hero taisen ore collection 2: It is an rpg, and it is the only phone that has its own story Even though you didn't include these games, it's a great video

There was a mobile game called Shonen Jump Jikko JanJan Stadium that was release in 2018 to promote Jump Force but the servers were shut down in 2020, it was kinda like Jump Ultimate Stars, being a 2D platform fighter were you choose 2 characters from a lot of series and battle some bots or other players(I guess), it was in japanese so I couldn't read what most of the game says but it was a fun game with even more franchises than Jump Force(it was only the protag that was playable but even Kira from Death note was playable), I hope they are making a new shonen jump game that isn't a 3D arena now that Jump Force will end Great video man

Great video! As an avid Jump Force player and someone who's part of the main community you spoke fairly well on our game compared to someone like Somemoegaming. Loved the video, you def made me get Jump Ultimate Stars since I needed a DS game to play when bored. Jump Force has it's issues in the story, but the gameplay is incredibly fun and really well thought out, but that's only if you get to more advanced stuff in the game. Imo it's the perfect casual game but also a really good game you can get professional in. Loved the vid, keep up the good work!
I'm still missing a few, but this is actually something I'm planning! Hopefully I can fill out the rest of them soon enough and get started. It'd definitely be a multi-parter, though.

Hey, just to let you know, they are closing every online related feature in Jump Force EXCEPT for online battles. The online rank mode thingy won’t be available, but as far as i know quick battles will, even though they won’t get any dev support so battles may get a bit unfair or have a long matchmaking wait time i believe. You should try and play Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Requiem even though it’s not an official JoJo game it’s pretty fun
The reason JF got so much hate is because it's an unfinished game, it had so much potential but they rushed it which is a shame. It's still fun to play tho
I got my start with Ultimate stars, really fun game even if you can’t read the Kanji. (But you will need to look up a guide to complete the story if you don’t have the English patch).
I personally preferred Victory Vs over the next game, mainly because all the characters were overly serious and when a joke was attempted it fell flat on its face.
I still remember reading Nintendo Power as a kid and seeing the listing for Jump Superstars in upcoming games, it looked glorious, but it did state it was on its way to Japan, and they wrote with hope that it'd be coming to the west, but alas...

My favourite is ultimate stars, with super stars as a very close second. The fact that characters in super stars can use combinations of ultimates (like don patch and vegeta having a combined ultimate, or naruto and goku) just makes that game so much better
I'd love to see another game in that style, but I don't think they'll ever go back to it ):

I see Jump Force is $10 (normally 100$) for the Ultimate Edition on psn right now. But, man... it's a bummer to hear that in 2022 you won't be able to play online anymore. I wonder if they will also take it on Playstation Now. I no longer have PS Now, but makes ya wonder. I imagine they will.

There are some that are only for phones, although most are the typical Japanese games for phones, there are 2 that are quite good:
• Shonen Jump Stadium: it's like smash bros, with Shonen Jump characters from all eras
• Jump hero taisen ore collection 2: It is an rpg, and it is the only phone that has its own story
Even though you didn't include these games, it's a great video

When I was small I searched Naruto vs Goku and found Battle Stadium D.O.N gameplay and it was the coolest thing ever at that time!

There was a mobile game called Shonen Jump Jikko JanJan Stadium that was release in 2018 to promote Jump Force but the servers were shut down in 2020, it was kinda like Jump Ultimate Stars, being a 2D platform fighter were you choose 2 characters from a lot of series and battle some bots or other players(I guess), it was in japanese so I couldn't read what most of the game says but it was a fun game with even more franchises than Jump Force(it was only the protag that was playable but even Kira from Death note was playable), I hope they are making a new shonen jump game that isn't a 3D arena now that Jump Force will end

Great video! As an avid Jump Force player and someone who's part of the main community you spoke fairly well on our game compared to someone like Somemoegaming. Loved the video, you def made me get Jump Ultimate Stars since I needed a DS game to play when bored.
Jump Force has it's issues in the story, but the gameplay is incredibly fun and really well thought out, but that's only if you get to more advanced stuff in the game. Imo it's the perfect casual game but also a really good game you can get professional in.

Underrated stuff, have you tried doing a dragon ball game? I think you'd legacy of Goku, most games are arena fighter sadly tho.
I'm still missing a few, but this is actually something I'm planning! Hopefully I can fill out the rest of them soon enough and get started. It'd definitely be a multi-parter, though.

Hey, just to let you know, they are closing every online related feature in Jump Force EXCEPT for online battles. The online rank mode thingy won’t be available, but as far as i know quick battles will, even though they won’t get any dev support so battles may get a bit unfair or have a long matchmaking wait time i believe. Anyways, just wanted to clear that out. Nice video bro, keep it up :)
